“Kristin took wonderful care of our puppy, Scruffy for two days while my family and I were away. Kristin sent us photos and videos of Scruffy and was always available to respond quickly to our messages. Our puppy was in great hands while we were away. I will definitely look to board Scruffy with Kristin again on our next trip!”

“Thank you for taking such good care of my Lily while I was on vacation for a week. The constant updates and photos put me at ease to know my little girl was happy and comfortable being away from me for the first time. I loved that she was the only dog in the home with someone always home to let her out or monitor her. She had a lot of fun! Will definitely be booking again for any future trips.”

“Kerri took the greatest care of our Alfie while we were away. She provided daily pictures of him and went above and beyond caring for him when our return flight was canceled and we had to stay away longer than expected. Alfie had not only her family to interact with but her dogs as well. We would definitely use her services again.”

“I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter! She treated Bailey like her own and made me feel completely at ease while I was away. Jeannemarie sent pictures and updates every day, which I really appreciated and looked forward to. It was clear my dog was happy, comfortable, and very well cared for. I would absolutely trust her with my dog again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable sitter! ❤️🐾”

“Natalia recently watched our two (2) dogs and they came back very tired which, to me, is the result of a VERY good time! She walked them, played with them and sent daily photos. I needed someone last minute to watch our dogs and Natalia stepped right in. We are so thankful to Natalia for the constant communication of our dogs and knowing they were very loved, while we were away. Thank you, Natalia!”

“Jamie was a great host. She sent us pictures several times during the day and was always responsive when we asked how our baby was. We would highly recommend her and plan on using her all the time.”

“What a wonderful find! My Penny and her Lucky were perfect together! So happy to know I can leave my girl in good hands AND having fun! Will definitely be using Sandra again!”

“Jeff was absolutely amazing. We needed someone to watch my French Bulldog puppy, Groot, basically immediately and he was more than accommodating. He got back to us in a timely fashion and as first time “rover” users my hubby and I were impressed. Within the hour we pulled up to Jeff house and he and his family took great care of our baby Groot. All the other dogs were very big and I was little concerned but was optimistic. That day sent us so many happy videos of our puppy socializing having fun and adapting to his new friends of all sizes. Jeff went above and beyond and his over all dog knowledge and system gave groot a happy sleep over and us happy puppy parents. Thank you so much for taking in my Groot being so good to him & having him celebrate with ur family durning the holidays. We will definitely use him for our next trip!”
“Patrick, Karyn, and Levi were absolutely wonderful hosts for our small dog. They took her on daily walks, sent us updates with photos, and treated her like she was their own baby. Karyn gives attention to each detail and I did not worry a single moment. I think our pup may have had a better vacation than we did and she can’t wait to go back. Thanks again!”

“We were definitely happy with our dog’s stay with Veronique and her family. We got lots of pictures and videos while we were away, and she was very responsive if we had any questions.”

“Cindy has always been very accommodating with Piero. He loves going to stay at her house and play with his friends. I’ve been using Cindy for almost a year and she has always been dependable. Cindy goes above and beyond when caring for our boy. This last trip our flight was cancelled while we were away and couldn’t get back for another six days. She immediately replied when I texted her to ask if she had availability for him and she had no problem extending his care. I am very grateful for her care of my Piero and so is he. She’s really the best!”

“Will was wonderful with our dog Ace! He sent us photos played with him and we ended up booking a second night! This allowed us to do stuff that we needed to do - knowing ace was in such good hands! I would highly recommend Will and we will definitely be using him again!”

“Thank you Jennifer for taking such good care of Dolly. She obviously felt safe and content in your home with loving attention by both you and your husband Jim. This was the longest time she has ever been away from us and we felt assured she was in good hands. Looking forward to having you take care of Dolly in the future.”

“Bear was very comfortable with Yi and his family, which, puts me at ease. I will definitely recommend Yi AND I have every intention on using him again when my family head out of town.”

“Joselle and her family were great! She kept us updated with pictures of our dog Scout walking, playing and relaxing. Scout came home healthy and happy! We highly recommend Joselle for all your pets needs!”

“Maria was a great caretaker of my Nala. She kept frequent communication throughout the boarding with pictures and videos, and didn’t mind the hyper activity. Her and her husband made my pups stay a pleasant one and I felt comfortable trusting them. Will definitely rebook!”

“This is the second time my dog has stayed with Antonia, and she absolutely loves it there! I always get lots of pictures and updates, and I know she’s being well cared for. Every time I pick her up, she never wants to leave. Highly recommend! 🐾❤️”

“Thank you for taking such good care of our boy once again! Maximus absolutely loves staying at John’s house. He has such a great time snuggling with family members and having playdates with John’s pups.”

Melissa was absolutely wonderful with Gibbs! This was my first time leaving my fur baby with anyone, so I was understandably a little nervous, but Melissa quickly put me at ease. She was warm, attentive, and communicative throughout his stay, and her photo updates reassured me that he was happy, comfortable, and having a great time. It was clear that she treated him like one of her own. I would happily book with Melissa again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter!

Cassie was absolutely WONDERFUL with Frankie! He comes with a set of medical and emotional challenges and she met each one with an enormity of knowledge, kindness, compassion & love. She was so very cognizant of not only his needs but mine as well. She kept me in the loop via conversation photos, and even videos, showing Frankie enjoying his time away. I can’t say enough good things about her. She’s just a lovely human being with a huge heart and a very evident love of animals. So grateful we found her!

Daniel did a great job of taking care of our dog Rocky while we were away. I was a little anxious about leaving him but felt much better after our Meet and Greet. He was gentle and patient with my shy guy and it put us at ease. He sent videos of Rocky daily and accommodated our apprehension about having Rocky around other dogs. I definitely recommend Daniel for your pet sitting needs.

Alana took Cara of Max for one night and she took care of him really well, she kept me updated send me pictures, and took max for walks, by the time I went to pick him up Alana gave me treats and a instant picture of Max which was really cute for sure I’ll be requesting her again.
Ashley saved Christmas! We have an allergic nephew and needed to drop Moby off somewhere. Ashley accepted Moby and he had a blast with her dogs and her enormous gated property. The most fun he’s had in a long time! We are very grateful Ashley was available for the holiday booking.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
