“It has taken me over a week to be able to write this review & express my gratitude for Denise. She watched my senior dog & the unimaginable happened. She was with coco during her last hours & cared for her like she was her own. I would have never left had I thought this would happen, but I am so thankful that Coco enjoyed her last days with Denise & her daughter. I feel so guilty & horrible that her family had to endure this & yet she did her best to comfort me. There are no words to express how grateful I am for Denise & her compassion.”
“This is the first time I used Veronique to care for my 3y/o Golden Retriever Pebbles for 10 days. The family was amazing with Pebbles. She got along amazingly well with the family. Their beautiful children are so sweet and played with her like they had her since she was a puppy. I received pictures of Pebbles everyday and they even gave her a spa bath because she was digging and rolled in the mud when it was raining. They are awesome. I would definitely use them again to take care of Pebbles.”

“Delmy and her daughter were great! They sent photos and videos constantly. Her house was clean and she even let me come and meet her before I even booked. It was very comforting knowing she wanted me to feel comfortable leaving my Remi with her. Thank you so much!”

“Catherine was so sweet with my dog. She kept up with her energy and gave her lots of swims/walks on the beach. There was such a calm energy in the house. Daisy felt right at home 🩷”

“Joselle and her family were great! She kept us updated with pictures of our dog Scout walking, playing and relaxing. Scout came home healthy and happy! We highly recommend Joselle for all your pets needs!”

“It was hard to find someone to watch my staffordshire terrier because of nervousness with other dogs, but Pam responded right away and booked a meet and greet to make sure that Daphne would be a good fit for the couple of days I needed her to watch Daphne. She brought up every concern possible at the meet and greet to make sure that every base with our dog was covered. During the couple of overnights I received TONS of pictures, which I loved! I was updated very often about how Daphne was doing. She was taken care of like she was the queen of dogs. Loved it! A lot of outdoor time and playing, which I could tell from the pictures that Daphne loved it. Pam loves dogs and I would definitely book an overnight with her again! I could tell when Daphne got home she was exhausted! Also, Pam makes treats for the dogs to take home! Daphne always asks for them when we are in our kitchen!”

“Sandy is amazing!! Provided pictures and updates during our pups week long stay! Our basenji could definitely be a handful which made us weary to leave her with someone we did not know, but after dropping our pooch off and seeing how Sandy was with dogs all our worries went away!”

“Cindy is so great with Hendrix! This is my second time leaving him with her and she’s wonderful. I get many photo updates throughout the day and he always looks like he’s happy and having fun!”

“Our 1 year old dog Theo had such a great time at Maria’s! Her house is beautiful and clean. She has her own dog, an Australian shepherd, who was a great playmate for Theo. She sent photos and pupdates daily. We can’t wait to use her again!”

“Very kind family who took their time to abide the schedule I had provided for my dog, as well as updated me constantly on his well being. Very kind, extroverted children who love dogs as well. Thank you greatly.”

“I always trust that my dog will be safe and happy when he goes to Kerri’s. She is great with him but also super responsive with me. Always love seeing photos of my dog having a great time while I am away. Thanks Kerri!”

“Christine was amazing! My dog, Bruno, can be intimidating but he was like a big mush with her. Her home is spotless and her attention to Bruno's needs was nothing short of perfect. He is a big dog and she had no issues handling him during his stay. He came happy and healthy and I can't say enough about Christine and her care for my best friend.”

“What a lovely family. They took such wonderful care of my Blossom. Diana sent me photos throughout Blossom’s stay that left me feeling like I made a good decision leaving her with them. Thank you so much. I know who to call for my next vacation.”

“Patrick & Karyn were amazing boarders to our mini Schnauzer. We are very happy. Our little girl enjoyed them and their dog, Levi. We received daily pictures of the many wonderful games they played, and trips that they took her on. The cuddles and love that she was given show in how relaxed she is once we got her back at home. We are very happy to have found such a wonderful home away from home for our pup. We will not hesitate to use Patrick and Karyn again in the future. They are top boarders!!”

“Gwynne did such an amazing job taking care of our almost two year old yellow lab, Riley. She checked-in with us regularly to provide updates about how Riley was doing and would send pictures. Riley got in lots of play time and walks with Flash, too, which I know that she loved. I highly recommend Gwynne. We plan on using her again soon!”

“Jeff is the absolute best. This was our first time using Rover and he far exceeded our expectations for what the experience would be like. Before we booked, Jeff took time to get to know our dog and our family, and shared about himself and his approach. In person, Jeff was so thoughtful about how he approached our dog (who immediately loved him) and took his time to chat more with us. By the time we were saying goodbye, our dog was trying to walk up the step to get into Jeff's house and had absolutely no hesitation about us leaving! We're so happy we found such wonderful care for our dog and can't wait for his next stay. Thank you, Jeff!!”

“Laura, Carolina & Enrique were great! I needed a sitter last minute and reached out to them. Luckily they were available. They responded fast, took good care of my pups and they had such a great time they were super tired after I picked them up. Will definitely book again. Thank you!!”

“I recently left my beloved furry friend with Christina for few days, and I couldn't be happier with the care she provided. Christina demonstrated exceptional communication throughout the entire time, keeping me updated with daily pictures and messages that truly put my mind at ease. Daily exercise is crucial for my dog, and I was pleased to hear that Christina took her outside to the yard regularly for play and exercise. Not only did my dog come back happy and healthy, but Christina also managed to create a bond that goes beyond the typical sitter-client relationship. It's reassuring to know that there are caring individuals like her on Rover. I highly recommend her services to anyone seeking a reliable and compassionate dog sitter. Thank you, Christina for your excellent service, and I look forward to booking with you again in the future!”

Our experince with Korin was excellent. She did a great job of communicating, was super easy to get along with, did a great job of taking care of our cat Ash, and sent us lots of pictures, videos, and verbal updates! She also covered us when we messed up our pickup date. HIghly recommend!!
Daniel did a great job of taking care of our dog Rocky while we were away. I was a little anxious about leaving him but felt much better after our Meet and Greet. He was gentle and patient with my shy guy and it put us at ease. He sent videos of Rocky daily and accommodated our apprehension about having Rocky around other dogs. I definitely recommend Daniel for your pet sitting needs.

I had never boarded my cat before so I was very nervous. Natalia was so sweet and communicative she really made me feel so much more at ease about leaving Leslie overnight. Natalia sent photos of Leslie and took wonderful care of her. She even had all of Leslie’s things packed and really when I came to pick Leslie up. I highly recommend Natalia!

This was our first time using Rover. I was very reluctant to use a person I did not know, or friends didn't know. However, I am so glad I took the chance with a 5 day/overnight in Sarah's home. It's a relief she only takes one animal at a time since our dog doesn't like other dogs. At the meet and greet, Sarah asked many questions to get a feel for Milo (eating & bathroom habits, walking, sleeping habits etc...) To start, her home is absolutely immaculate. I received a daily update with pictures on how our dog was adjusting & doing overall. Milo was displaying some quirky behaviors which Sarah reported right away & thought was cute/funny. She was very accepting, flexible in many ways, and an absolute delight to talk with. It is apparent she is a dog lover! Upon pick up, Milo was happy and all his belongings were packed & ready to go. We plan on using Sarah again for our next trip, if she's available.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
