“It was nice having my three dogs altogether instead of having them separate in a kennel. Rosie my dog took to Emily right away So I knew that she would be OK Emily sent a text photo it was nice seeing that the dogs were safe. When the dogs came home they were fine with no problems. So when I do go away again, I would take Rosie and my other two dogs there. I would highly recommend Emily to anybody that loves their dogs.”

“I found Laurie to be very professional and super responsive to questions or concerns. Detailed daily updates on my dogs' stay and demeanor including multiple pictures were greatly appreciated. My dog had a bit of a nervous stomach being away, (separation anxiety) Laurie took extra steps to care for Baxter and even bathed her and washed her things that were sent along when she was dropped off. My dog was definitely cared for not just boarded. Baxter even received a doggie gift bag when she was picked up which was a really nice touch. Thanks to Laurie and Dog days for taking such great care of my dog!”

“I cannot say enough wonderful things about Damaris! She takes such amazing care of our Rex and sends daily pictures and updates. He doesn’t like just anyone, but boy does he love Damaris and her whole family. We are clients for life!!”

“Diana is the best to care for my dog! Always keeps me updated and send pics of her and her family showing my dog so much love! She cares for him, like he’s her own. Would use her every time!”

“Shannon was wonderful. She asked detailed questions before I dropped off my dog regarding diet, likes and dislikes and since I have an older dog, her health and limitations. I felt, right from the start, she was invested in the care and well being of my dog. During my pet's stay, she sent regular updates and pictures which was greatly appreciated for this anxious dog mom. My dog seemed well cared for, calm and happy when I arrived to pick her up. I was please with her services and I would highly recommend Shannon and will use her again in the future.”

“Gabbi was amazing. She gave me follow ups on my dog constantly, sent pictures. She had a safe environment in and outside the house with double locked fencing. Beautiful clean home inside and out. We defiantly would be using her again. Our dog was so happy when she was picked up and had a great time with the other dogs Gabbi was watching. Very safe environment for any aged dog.”
“I recently had the pleasure of boarding my furry friends at this wonderful dog boarding house, and I couldn't be happier with the experience! From the moment I dropped my dog off, I knew they were in great hands. Christine were incredibly friendly and nice! Throughout my dog's stay, I received regular updates and pictures, which was a great comfort to me. I could tell that my dog was having an absolute blast - playing with other dogs, and watching TV shows. When I picked up my dog, they were happy, healthy, and tired out from all the fun they had been having. Overall, I would highly recommend this dog boarding house to anyone looking for a caring, trustworthy, and fun place to board their dog. I will definitely be using their services again in the future!”

About: Hi! I’m Jo, and I specialize in caring for small dogs who are used to being someone’s whole world. After struggling to find a sitter who truly only takes one dog at a time, I decided to become the kind of sitter I was searching for. I know how hard it is to leave your little one with someone else. Small dogs aren’t just pets — they’re shadows, cuddle buddies, emotional support systems, and family. They thrive on attention, routine, and feeling safe. That’s exactly what I provide. If the thought of your small dog feeling scared or lost among a pack worries you, you’ve found the safe place you’ve been looking for I work from home so will be able to give full attention. I understand small dog energy — from clingy Velcro pups to sassy little bosses. I’m patient, attentive, and very tuned in to their comfort and routines. Right now, caring for my own small dog is part of my everyday life. I follow a consistent routine with regular walks, feeding times, play sessions, and lots of affection throughout the day. I make sure my dog gets enough exercise but also has quiet time to rest, especially after walks or play. I’m very attentive to their behavior and mood, so I can quickly notice if something seems off.
“My dog stayed with Rutba for 5 nights while I was away on vacation. Rutba was attentive to my dog’s needs and made sure she felt comfortable. It was a positive experience and would recommend! Thank you so much!”

“Toni and family watched our 1 yr old Staffy, Rocky while we went away on vacay for about 5 days. We got regular pics and updates on how he was doing which helped with peace of mind. Rocky was on a special diet and meds due to tummy issues a couple of weeks prior and Toni was very accommodating. She also kept Rocky separate from her dogs due to him not being used to having to share space with other pups which I appreciated. Rocky seems to have been well taken care of and we would definitely use Toni's services in the future if need be.”

I’m looking to add or even change my career and do something that I want to get up and do and put my all into something for once that I enjoy . I’ve always wanted to work with animals I have so many and they bring such light into my life I can’t ever not have a pet,I’m Better and complete with them Yes, I have a fenced in yard. They can go to the bathroom on the grass plenty room to play. I live by the water. I can take them for walks down there. About: For the comfort and safety of every pup, I only host one family’s dog at a time. This allows me to give your dog my full attention and maintain a calm, low stress environment. My care goes beyond the basics. it’s rooted in genuine love and experience. My journey caring for Kayne, our special needs dog, taught me how to handle medical routines, provide comfort, and stay attentive to every detail. That experience shaped my approach to every pet I welcome. I understand that each animal deserves patience, respect, and love. Whether your pet is playful, shy, or needs a little extra care, they’ll always be treated like family in our home. We’re CPR and First Aid certified, giving you extra peace of mind while your pup is in our care. Pet care is woven into my daily life and something I genuinely love. As a stay at home mom, I’m home full time to give every furry friend constant love and attention. Our days revolve around walks, playtime, and snuggles. Caring for our late dog, Kayne, who developed a spinal injury and heart condition, taught me that true care takes patience, compassion, and adaptability qualities I bring to every pet I meet. In our home, every animal is treated like family. I provide a clean, safe, and active space with multiple walks, a fenced yard for play, and individualized routines. Through my experience caring for Kayne, who required special medical attention, I learned how to adapt to any level of care whether it’s energetic puppies or older companions needing extra comfort. You can feel confident knowing your pet is in loving, capable hands that treat them as one of our own.
“This was my first experience with Ruby Sky and I am very pleased with the outcome. She addressed all my concerns and provided timely communications to ensure a smooth process. She also provided several pictures throughout my dog’s stay which were/are greatly appreciated. Looking forward to my dog’s next stay.”

“Daniel did a great job of taking care of our dog Rocky while we were away. I was a little anxious about leaving him but felt much better after our Meet and Greet. He was gentle and patient with my shy guy and it put us at ease. He sent videos of Rocky daily and accommodated our apprehension about having Rocky around other dogs. I definitely recommend Daniel for your pet sitting needs.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Patchogue
I had never boarded my cat before so I was very nervous. Natalia was so sweet and communicative she really made me feel so much more at ease about leaving Leslie overnight. Natalia sent photos of Leslie and took wonderful care of her. She even had all of Leslie’s things packed and really when I came to pick Leslie up. I highly recommend Natalia!

This was our first time using Rover. I was very reluctant to use a person I did not know, or friends didn't know. However, I am so glad I took the chance with a 5 day/overnight in Sarah's home. It's a relief she only takes one animal at a time since our dog doesn't like other dogs. At the meet and greet, Sarah asked many questions to get a feel for Milo (eating & bathroom habits, walking, sleeping habits etc...) To start, her home is absolutely immaculate. I received a daily update with pictures on how our dog was adjusting & doing overall. Milo was displaying some quirky behaviors which Sarah reported right away & thought was cute/funny. She was very accepting, flexible in many ways, and an absolute delight to talk with. It is apparent she is a dog lover! Upon pick up, Milo was happy and all his belongings were packed & ready to go. We plan on using Sarah again for our next trip, if she's available.

Christina was an amazing sitter! I utilized her boarding service for Valentines Day date night and I would definitely book again. Christina communicated with me the whole time, sent lots of photos and videos and most of all my dogs had an amazing time. Her home is clean and many area are gated off, providing the dogs with safety.

Nora was absolutely amazing! Her communication was excellent when it came to booking with her and she was always updating me with pictures of my cat while I was away. This was my first time ever leaving a pet alone for a couple of days with someone I’ve never met and I’m really glad that I found Nora. Highly recommended and I will use her in a heartbeat for the next time I go away.

Angela took amazing care of my dog for the two weeks that we were on vacation. I can tell our little guy was so happy and he was treated very well. After we met Angela, Bruce and their Jackson, I knew our dog was going to get spoiled and he will be surrounded by love. We are always careful when we leave our dog somewhere and are careful that the yard is fully enclosed because our dog is an escape artist. I felt totally safe and comfortable leaving our little guy. Angela sent so many pictures of our dog and how we happy he was when we he was laying in the sun, running around the yard or sharing a chair with Jackson. We will be using Angela to watch our do when we need to have him boarded again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
