About: I have 15+ years of owning my own pets (dogs, fish, birds, and hamsters) and caring for other people’s pets. I feel comfortable feeding, bathing, walking and providing any other type of care the pet needs. I truly love animals and enjoy making them feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. I have a six-year-old son who absolutely loves animals as well, so pets staying in our home should be friendly and comfortable around children. We are a caring, animal-loving home and can’t wait to meet and care for your pets like they’re part of the family! * If you prefer kid-free home, I recommend Friday to Sunday bookings. I am home full-time, so your pets will always have love, attention, and supervision throughout the day and will never be left alone for long periods. I’m able to take dogs out frequently for walks and potty breaks, and our apartment complex also has a fenced area where pets can safely run around and play. My goal is to make your pets feel comfortable, cared for, and right at home while you’re away! I care for every pet as if they were part of my own family. In my home, pets will receive constant supervision, plenty of attention, regular potty breaks, playtime, walks, and lots of love and affection. I make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and relaxed while sticking to their normal routines as much as possible.

About: Hi! I’m Jo, and I specialize in caring for small dogs who are used to being someone’s whole world. After struggling to find a sitter who truly only takes one dog at a time, I decided to become the kind of sitter I was searching for. I know how hard it is to leave your little one with someone else. Small dogs aren’t just pets — they’re shadows, cuddle buddies, emotional support systems, and family. They thrive on attention, routine, and feeling safe. That’s exactly what I provide. If the thought of your small dog feeling scared or lost among a pack worries you, you’ve found the safe place you’ve been looking for I work from home so will be able to give full attention. I understand small dog energy — from clingy Velcro pups to sassy little bosses. I’m patient, attentive, and very tuned in to their comfort and routines. Right now, caring for my own small dog is part of my everyday life. I follow a consistent routine with regular walks, feeding times, play sessions, and lots of affection throughout the day. I make sure my dog gets enough exercise but also has quiet time to rest, especially after walks or play. I’m very attentive to their behavior and mood, so I can quickly notice if something seems off.

Having just moved to Long Island, my husband and I were in search of a reliable dog sitter for our dog, Kilo. We always had friends watch him in Miami, and were a bit nervous leaving Kilo with a stranger for 3 nights. Initially, we checked out some kennels in the area, and found them quite depressing. That led us to look on Rover, and Daniel's profile came up first. I reached out to Daniel to inquire about booking with him, and within minutes Daniel had responded and we set up a meet and greet for later that night. I stopped by with Kilo to see Daniel's set up/house. I could immediately tell that he was a dog person and was going to treat my dog as his own! I was nervous because Kilo can be a little territorial with other large males, but Daniel reassured me that everything would be fine. I dropped Kilo off later that week for his stay with Daniel and his family. Daniel sent pictures of Kilo playing outside and responded to any questions/concerns I had about Kilo during his stay. I felt totally confident that my dog was in good hands at his house. Daniel and his family will definitely be my dog people on the island! I absolutely recommend their services. I've already booked Kilo's next stay, and I also look forward to dropping Kilo off every once in a while for day care services just so he can run around and play with other dogs in a safe environment!

About: For the comfort and safety of every pup, I only host one family’s dog at a time. This allows me to give your dog my full attention and maintain a calm, low stress environment. My care goes beyond the basics. it’s rooted in genuine love and experience. My journey caring for Kayne, our special needs dog, taught me how to handle medical routines, provide comfort, and stay attentive to every detail. That experience shaped my approach to every pet I welcome. I understand that each animal deserves patience, respect, and love. Whether your pet is playful, shy, or needs a little extra care, they’ll always be treated like family in our home. We’re CPR and First Aid certified, giving you extra peace of mind while your pup is in our care. Pet care is woven into my daily life and something I genuinely love. As a stay at home mom, I’m home full time to give every furry friend constant love and attention. Our days revolve around walks, playtime, and snuggles. Caring for our late dog, Kayne, who developed a spinal injury and heart condition, taught me that true care takes patience, compassion, and adaptability qualities I bring to every pet I meet. In our home, every animal is treated like family. I provide a clean, safe, and active space with multiple walks, a fenced yard for play, and individualized routines. Through my experience caring for Kayne, who required special medical attention, I learned how to adapt to any level of care whether it’s energetic puppies or older companions needing extra comfort. You can feel confident knowing your pet is in loving, capable hands that treat them as one of our own.

Kathy was an amazing pet sitter. My dog stayed for three nights and had the best time playing with her sweet dog Ollie. Kathy was incredibly attentive and kind. My dog had hurt her leg prior to going over there and she even took the time to gently massage her leg ( after checking with me) It really meant a lot knowing my dog was so cared for uncomfortable. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with Kathy again and highly recommend her!

My Scrappy (who is a 2 year old Pomeranian/ Poodle Mix male) stayed with Maria, Eric, and Penny (their fur baby girl) for 12 days. Scrappy and Penny had a meet and greet prior to booking. They hit it off. They were like long lost loves. Scrappy is one to be pretty scrappy at times, so I had to check the fence line because he likes to try to dig. They have a very secure backyard that made me feel comfortable to leave him there too. Maria said she would be out there with them, which made me feel better. But the fence was very secure anyway. Maria sent me photos and videos daily of Scrappy and Penny playing in the snowy backyard, napping together, and enjoying each other’s company. Scrappy seemed very happy and content staying with the family. Unfortunately, Scrappy had to say farewell to Penny for now. When I picked him up there was another fur friend there too, who was an elderly regular. He seemed like a sweetheart too. It was nice to see Scrappy had so many few friends. Maria’s sending us pictures and videos made me smile while we were away. It made me feel like he was doing well and he was happy and it provided me with a great sense of comfort to know he was being well taken care of. I would recommend Maria and her family for pet sitting. Maria herself was very nice and welcoming to me and my family. Eric seemed very pleasant and sweet and Penny was a beautiful and lovable dog, whom I wanted to bring home with us. Lol. Glad we picked them for Scrappy. Thank you Maria, Eric and Penny!!! All the best, Victoria, Tom and Scrappy

About: For 15 years, I have loved and cared for my animals. I was lucky enough to receive excellent training for my shepherd/husky and incorporate the methods during interactions with other animals as well as my new puppy. I completely understand needing reliable care when away. Patience, exercise and attention work wonders!! I'm currently working remote on Thursdays and am able to fit walks in throughout the day as well as during weekends. A varied schedule is fine!! Ensuring the animal's environment is the same when I leave as when I arrive is necessary to prevent injury or any accident. My yard is completely fenced in and equipped to play and run!

This was our first time using Rover. I was very reluctant to use a person I did not know, or friends didn't know. However, I am so glad I took the chance with a 5 day/overnight in Sarah's home. It's a relief she only takes one animal at a time since our dog doesn't like other dogs. At the meet and greet, Sarah asked many questions to get a feel for Milo (eating & bathroom habits, walking, sleeping habits etc...) To start, her home is absolutely immaculate. I received a daily update with pictures on how our dog was adjusting & doing overall. Milo was displaying some quirky behaviors which Sarah reported right away & thought was cute/funny. She was very accepting, flexible in many ways, and an absolute delight to talk with. It is apparent she is a dog lover! Upon pick up, Milo was happy and all his belongings were packed & ready to go. We plan on using Sarah again for our next trip, if she's available.

Angela took amazing care of my dog for the two weeks that we were on vacation. I can tell our little guy was so happy and he was treated very well. After we met Angela, Bruce and their Jackson, I knew our dog was going to get spoiled and he will be surrounded by love. We are always careful when we leave our dog somewhere and are careful that the yard is fully enclosed because our dog is an escape artist. I felt totally safe and comfortable leaving our little guy. Angela sent so many pictures of our dog and how we happy he was when we he was laying in the sun, running around the yard or sharing a chair with Jackson. We will be using Angela to watch our do when we need to have him boarded again.

There are 1,282 sitters on Rover for Pet Boarding in Patchogue. About 92% of Patchogue sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you’re planning ahead for holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
