“Dawn took such good care of our pup for a week. We received daily pictures and it looked like he was having a blast with all the other dogs. She also accommodated us last minute when we extended our vacation an extra day. We have a few more weekend trips coming up - will definitely be using Dawn as a sitter.”

“Very kind family who took their time to abide the schedule I had provided for my dog, as well as updated me constantly on his well being. Very kind, extroverted children who love dogs as well. Thank you greatly.”

“Jennifer was amazing! She took such great care of my dog Dunkin’. She kept me updated throughout his stay with messages, pictures and videos. She went above and beyond my expectations. I will definitely be booking with her again.”

“I met with Pam before our stay and my dogs loved her house! So much fun for the pups! Pam was super helpful and sent lots of pics of my babies. I will definitely be using her in the future!”

“I highly recommend Amber. She was amazing with our lab mix. I'm new to using a dog sitter and Amber made the whole process seamless. She sent pics, videos and regular updates which was extremely appreciated!”

“It was our first time boarding Cleo, our 4 year old labrador, with Gwynne, and it was an excellent experience! Gwynne was very quick to respond to inquiries, took time to ask about Cleo, offered to arrange a “meet and greet” to make sure that Cleo gets along with her own dog, Flash. During her stay, we received daily updates with cute pictures and videos. Cleo got ton of exercises with Gwynne and her family, they even took her to lake Mohegan which is Cleo’s favorite destination! Overall I highly recommend Gwynne! Cleo will be back!”
“Rhodey had the BEST time at Veronique’s house over the holidays. She is very communicative and provided pictures/videos every day which is so appreciated. I could tell Rhodey was treated like family and got so much love while he was there! So happy I found a family I can trust to watch my pup. Thanks for taking such great care of him!”

“Excellent care of my puppy again. My little Bailey can sometimes be shy or anxious. When I dropped her off, she was so excited to be there, ran off to play immediately and never looked back! Lol That let me know that she likes it there and this family takes care of her.”

“Joselle and her family were great! She kept us updated with pictures of our dog Scout walking, playing and relaxing. Scout came home healthy and happy! We highly recommend Joselle for all your pets needs!”

“My mom's puppy was in her arms looking very happy! We received updates which was wonderful She was very accommodating and we hope she's available again because it was our puppy's first time away and Anne made this experience easy”

“Danielle was wonderful with our two 7 month old puppies. We were nervous to leave them for the first time but she put our minds at ease. She knew how to comfortably acclimate our dogs to her home. Her gorgeous house is immaculate, not a thing out of place, great for sneaky puppies! She sent multiple photos each day we were away and kept us updated. Would totally recommend Danielle and her family!”

“Christina was simply amazing! I highly recommend her to any friend or family member. She took excellent care of my dog and treated him as if he was her own. I appreciated all the videos and photos she would send me of my Tomasso and updates of his stay with her. Christina’s home was super clean and she has a large fenced backyard where my dog would get plenty of exercise. 10 out of 10 for those who are looking for more than just someone to watch their pet, she treats them with love and care. Thanks Christina! Tomasso misses you already.”

“Denise is the only reason I will travel. I would not leave my little Fur Baby with anybody else. She is so loving and fun, I feel like it's a vacation for my pup too, and know he is having a great time and is loved so much!XoXoXO”

“Katie is very patient with my pup and understands her attachment to me. It takes Bella a while to settle and enjoy her self and Katie is perfect for this. She always ensured me its not a problem and she takes care of it. This is her 2nd time keeping Bella, thus time Katie was more forthcoming with updates then the first time, which I loved. But in her defense she also had a injured arm in a high anxiety pup. So I really understood it, did not let it bother me, because I know where her focus was.And I appreciated that, but when I did reach out to her, she immediately sent me a response back and updates. Bella loves walks and she was great at walking her a few times a day. I will be going away soon and hope Katie is available to keep her. Thank you Katie.”

Our experince with Korin was excellent. She did a great job of communicating, was super easy to get along with, did a great job of taking care of our cat Ash, and sent us lots of pictures, videos, and verbal updates! She also covered us when we messed up our pickup date. HIghly recommend!!
Ashley saved Christmas! We have an allergic nephew and needed to drop Moby off somewhere. Ashley accepted Moby and he had a blast with her dogs and her enormous gated property. The most fun he’s had in a long time! We are very grateful Ashley was available for the holiday booking.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
