“We had Jennifer watch our older GSD Dolly for the first time this week. Jennifer and her husband took very good care of our girl, were very attentive to her needs. She sent pictures of a happy, smiling dog to us, which we appreciated. Looking forward to using Jennifer for a much longer stay in the near future. They are definitely dog people.”

“A very big thank you to Heather and her family. I felt so comfortable leaving Toby with her. He had never stayed with someone he doesn’t know but Heather made him and me comfortable and safe. 🧡🧡🧡”

“Rachel and Henrik (and their two wonderful kids!) watched our two Goldendoodles for the weekend, and we couldn’t have had a better experience. From the start, it was clear this was a perfect fit—we did a meet-and-greet beforehand, and instantly felt comfortable. Their home is beautiful, clean, and has a great backyard where our dogs had plenty of space to run and play. More importantly, our dogs were treated like part of the family—they got tons of attention, snuggles, and care all weekend. We also really appreciated the frequent updates and photos, which gave us total peace of mind. When we dropped them off, our dogs were so excited they ran right in without hesitation—that says everything. You can truly tell how much Rachel and Henrik love dogs and care for them as their own. One of the nicest families we’ve met, and we felt completely at ease knowing our dogs were so well cared for. We will absolutely be using them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for exceptional dog care.”

“Donna was a breath of fresh air very welcoming. She took to Blue my pup instantly I appreciated the knowledge she passed on to me... Donna was accommodating at our last minute request we were pleased with knowing our pup was in good hands. We will most definitely be using her again in the near future.”

About: I've grown up with dogs all my life. My Eagle Scout project was to help create storage and kits for a dog rescue agency and since then I've helped foster 5 dogs and doggysat for numerous friends and family. I give dogs my time and attention and try to pay attention to their preferences and habits. I am a college student so I have flexibility to care for animals during summer and winter breaks. I love being able to chill on the couch next to dogs so they feel cared for and loved. I have a fenced yard and two very sweet dogs who have been mentors to our foster dogs. We have toybaskets everywhere and a regular routine for feeding and care.
“Alejandro was great with our 5 month old puppy Shrek. He sent us lots of videos of Shrek on walks, and socializing with other dogs. It was our first time leaving Shrek and and the videos and frequent communication with Alejandro was very comforting. Bizcocho was a great playmate too. Since Shrek is a puppy and still learning it is important to us that he be around friendly dogs like him. The next time we need to leave Shrek with someone Alejandro and Bizcocho are our first choice. Thanks Alejandro!”

“John did a great job with our big NewfyPoo. He really made him feel at home and comfortable from the minute we dropped him off. He provided updates and let us know how our boy was doing. I have no reservations about recommending John and I will definitely be using him in the future!”

“Gabbi was amazing. She gave me follow ups on my dog constantly, sent pictures. She had a safe environment in and outside the house with double locked fencing. Beautiful clean home inside and out. We defiantly would be using her again. Our dog was so happy when she was picked up and had a great time with the other dogs Gabbi was watching. Very safe environment for any aged dog.”

“Our experience with Natalia was amazing! She provided many updates and pictures to us which helped us so much, as this was our first time leaving our pup in someone else’s hands. We were able to enjoy our vacation knowing he was in the best care. Highly recommend Natalia and will be using her care again!”

“Ashley is simply amazing! She takes better care of our fur boy than us and happens to also be a canine professional who helped to correct some of his annoying behaviors lol. We highly recommend you trust her with you loved pet!”

I’m am a college student and work a weekend job. During the week after classes I have free time to dog walk. I keep my calendar updated regularly for any days where I might not be available throughout the week. I live in an apartment, which is why I choose only small to medium sized dogs to board. The inside is divided into four sections, so I can board up to four dogs no bigger than 40lbs at one time, and each pet will have his or her own space indoors for eating and sleeping. Outside, the pets will be able to interact and play, and they will always be supervised.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Mount Sinai
We were so worried about leaving our dog when we had to travel for a memorial service but Catherine was so wonderful! We could see from the pictures and videos she sent that Joey was so happy with her. Knowing he was doing so well made leaving him so much easier. We would not hesitate to leave him with Catherine again.

Jill was excellent!! She sent us pictures every day and videos. Very caring and attentive. Our doggie Flurry even lost a little weight as her harness is a little looser. Our vet said she needed to lose a little weight ao what a bonus. Very excellent care was taken. Thank you! We will definitely utilize your services again!
Alissa took very good care of our 4 year old “puppy”. Ozzy is always nervous, but he took to Alissa almost immediately. She sent me pictures and updates everyday. I felt so comfortable leaving Ozzy with Alissa. He looked so happy in the photos and videos, I wasn’t sure he was going to want to come home. Thank you!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
