“I found out the day before that I needed a sitter for my 8 month old, yet to be neutered, tank of a puppy, Apollo. Having previously left him with only family members, and only a handful of times, we were a little nervous. When we first got there, Apollo immediately seemed to feel comfortable, not even looking back at me. I received photos a few hours in, and when it was time to pick him up, Apollo was trying to climb into a lap (he’s 75 lbs), and was being praised as a love, cuddle bug! Overall positive, seamless experience and I would book again.”

About: I've been a pet owner of animals from all shapes, sizes and ages for nearly 28 years now, but have been taking care of them for about 26 years. I was born and raised around animals, and have never gone a moment in life without having them in my life. I have also worked at two pet stores where I trained, raised, medicated and cleaned up after even more animals than I have even owned. I've personally owned dogs, cats, rats, rabbits, ferrets, sugar gliders, hamsters, gerbils, mice, chickens, guinea pigs, geckos, turtles, snakes and fish. I have experience with animals of all ages from birth to senior and am comfortable providing medications when necessary. I also like to consider myself very good at training dogs, as it is something I've not only done for my own dogs, but have been previously hired in the past to help other families with their dogs/puppies as well. I am patient, outgoing, caring, organized and calm-natured as a person and adore the idea of helping others. With animals and making people smile as two of my favorite things, this felt like the perfect way for me to achieve both of those in life, by helping pet-parents to put their worries aside by leaving it up to me to help them when they need it most with their beloved pets. With me, your pets will never go uncared for, because animals mean the world to me. I am currently unemployed, leaving me home all day, everyday. If there is ever a change in my schedule, I am prepared to update my profile to account for that. As an organized person, I am very careful to make sure others are as up to date as I am. When it comes to my home, I have a fenced in yard and a dog who loves every breathing thing on the planet. Your pet can have plenty of outside or inside time per your request, I am adaptable and flexible for the preferences you may have for your baby. When it comes to your home, I will do whatever it takes to make sure both you and your pet are comfortable and satisfied with my services. I am good at following rules, schedules, preferences and details. You can count on me to do the right thing.
15. Kathryn C.
“Kathryn was wonderful with my girl Amphi, who has separation anxiety. She has two of her own cuties who were very welcoming to Amphi & they all got along very well. I felt very safe & comfortable leaving my dog in her care & she has a great big yard that my dog loves running around in. I highly recommend Kathryn if you want piece of mind knowing your dog is in great, caring hands! Thank you Kathryn for looking after my pup & we look forward to our next visit!”

About: I have always had pets growing up as a child and my love for them has grown into my adulthood even more. I have taken a 2 year course for animal science and got a certificate. I’ve learned how to take care of different breeds the proper and safest way. The animal science course also teaches advanced dog grooming so I also love dog grooming! I currently have a part time job and work usually short shifts since it’s just a side job so I can give the dogs attention and be able to make them happy. I have a huge backyard where I let my small dog play and I have a empty bedroom with ac and dog beds for when the animal is not outside. I will also allow the dogs to walk around my house as it is no problem to me. I have dog food and dog toys as well. Incase the dog gets dirty playing outside or any other incident I have dog shampoo and conditioner that is healthy and I learned about it from my animal science class where I also did dog grooming.

About: In addition to my own family dog growing up, I've taken care of my own two dogs for five years! Living in Port Jefferson has only increased my appreciation for neighborhood pups - it is an instant mood boost to see other dogs out and about. After an incredible year of receiving care from Rover ourselves, we are opening our home to take the best weekend care of your pup while you are away! I am an extremely organized person, ready for the details to best take care of your furball. -(Danielle, with help from partner Zach) On weekends, my partner and I are home all day to provide the best care and exercise for your pup! We walk our own dogs every 2-3 hours, and can adjust to the schedule that your pup needs for exercise and feeding. Additional availability during the week especially over winter break! With two friendly dogs of our own, we NEVER leave the dogs unattended. One or both of us will be present at all times. Dogs are happily allowed on furniture, but there are plenty of soft dog beds available for snoozing as well.

About: PRICES NEGOTIABLE!!! I've been in love with animals since before I could walk. My family has had dogs, cats, rabbits, chickens, frogs, birds, etc. since before I was born. By the time I was 9 I persuaded my parents to let me get my first cat. I've been responsible for big and small dogs, sick cats, feral cats and more. I've taken puppys to puppy school. I'm no stranger to the vet. Theres not much I wouldnt do for these furry critters. I work remotely for my main job and I am not required to sit in front of a computer so I can go walk dogs, make home visits or pet sit at my home! I am only working outside the home some Sundays and Mondays! My yard is fenced in. I have cameras on the house and friendly neighbors just incase. I do have a spare room the animal can stay in if need be. I also have a cage big enough to fit anyone that needs it. Windows and doors stay locked at all times. There are also water bowls all over the home as well as toys.
