Absolutely wonderful walker! I feel so blessed to have found Tina. She may not know it but she is an answer to my prayers! Very friendly and personable. Quick to respond. Very flexible and willing to work around my difficult schedule even on the weekends which is sometimes hard to find. Tina is a very likable person but most importantly my dog likes her too! I was so comfortable with my dog in her care I am using her again this week. Bonus: She took such amazing photos of my sweet boy they looked professional taken.

About: I am a teacher in Asheville looking to hang out with some lovely animals in my free time. Growing up I have always had animals but primarily dogs so I have a strong background in dog behaviors and needs. My fiancé, Ellen, is also available to support during the week days that wouldn’t be optimal for me to leave during my teaching days. This gives a lot more availability! She has always grown up with cats and dogs and would love to help support to give them the best care. Often we both come for meet and greets/visits to ensure we give the best care 😊 I look forward to care for your animal in anyway I can. Please let me know of any questions as I hope to be flexible with any needs. During the week I am gone roughly 8am-4pm but will be home during the weekend times. During the summer months I am available throughout the day times. My fiancé is a nurse and works 3 days out of the week. The schedule is flexible but sporadic. I love to get out for long walks and get as much movement as possible. If that’s for your animal I’d love to get them out! If not I am cautious about the animals typical areas and what works best for them.

About: I’ve cared for animals in a wide range of environments, from farms on the Big Island of Hawaii to horses in Appalachia and North Florida. Over the years, I’ve helped care for dogs, cats, horses, and farm animals, (including caring for more than 30 pets in the Asheville area in one summer alone!) I’m dependable, grounded, and comfortable working independently. As a mother currently studying social work, I value calm communication, consistency, and creating a safe, relaxed environment for both pets and homes. I understand that every animal has different needs, personalities, and comfort levels, and I aim to provide attentive, trustworthy care that helps pets feel secure while their owners are away. I’m also happy to include plant watering and basic plant care during visits when needed. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I’m local to the Lake Junaluska and Waynesville area and have a flexible schedule, especially during the summer while school is out. I’m able to dedicate consistent time and attention to walks, drop-ins, feeding routines, and companionship throughout the day. Because I live nearby, commuting is easy for me, which helps me stay reliable and responsive for clients. I enjoy creating calm, steady environments for animals and genuinely value the trust involved in caring for someone’s pets and home. I currently provide care in clients’ homes so pets can remain comfortable in the environment they already know and trust. I understand how important consistency, routine, and familiarity are for animals while their owners are away. I aim to maintain a calm, clean, and dependable environment by carefully following feeding schedules, exercise routines, medication instructions, and household preferences. I’m respectful of clients’ homes, communicative throughout each stay, and attentive to both pet safety and home security. My goal is always to help pets feel relaxed, cared for, and emotionally at ease while giving owners peace of mind that their home and animals are in responsible hands!

About: What sets me apart is that pet care is a passion I truly love animals of all kinds—big or small, energetic or laid-back, quirky or shy. Caring for pets isn’t just something i do, it’s part of my daily life. I treat every animal like part of our family and always go the extra mile to make sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable. Whether it’s playtime in the yard, a relaxing walk, or just quiet companionship, we’re tuned in to each pet’s unique personality and Pet care fits perfectly into my daily routine! I’m currently in online nursing school, which gives me a very flexible schedule and allows me to be home the majority of the time. This means I can provide consistent, attentive care throughout the day—whether that’s regular potty breaks, playtime, feeding, cuddles, or just being there to keep your pet company. Because I’m not tied to a strict 9–5 schedule, I can easily adjust to meet your pet’s specific needs and routine. Whether your pet is high-energy and needs lots of stimulation or prefers a calm, relaxed environment, I’m here to give them the love and attention they deserve. In my home, pets receive consistent, loving care in a calm and safe environment. Since I’m home most of the time thanks to my flexible online nursing school schedule, I’m able to give pets the attention they need throughout the day—whether that’s sticking to their usual feeding and potty schedule, offering playtime, or just being there for cuddles and companionship. I’m very adaptable to each pet’s personality and routine. Whether your pet is energetic and playful, shy and quiet, or somewhere in between, I make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I take time to learn their unique preferences and adjust my care to match what makes them happiest. Your pet’s well-being is always my priority, and I treat every animal in my home like family.

About: I have been professionally caring for dogs, cats, fish, and birds for 15 years. I am comfortable with young and elderly animals, and am able to give medications or other more advanced kinds of care. Most importantly, I have a great dog voice. I am my own boss, so I'm able to alter my schedule as needed to care for your babies. Whether that's holidays, early mornings, evenings, etc. I prefer to meet your pets and see your home before our first care-visit. That way I can meet your fur baby in their own environment to have them be as comfortable with me as possible before I come to care for them.

About: Hi! We’re an animal-loving family with room to roam and a whole lot of heart. We share our home with three wonderful dogs (a Pointer, a German Shepherd/Golden Retriever mix, and an Australian Shepherd) all 7 years and older, plus our cat, Potato. We’re very comfortable managing different personalities, energy levels, and species under one roof. Our dogs are mature, well-socialized, and help create a calm, balanced pack environment. We live on 2 acres with a securely fenced quarter-acre for safe, supervised outdoor play. There’s plenty of space for sniffing, structured exercise, and relaxing in the fresh air. My wife and I are almost always home, so your pet will receive consistent supervision, attention, and affection. We also have a sweet baby, Cooper, who is growing up learning to gently and respectfully love animals. Our home is calm, structured, and family-oriented. In addition to boarding, we also offer drop-in visits for pets who are happiest staying in their own home. Whether your pet needs potty breaks, feeding, walks, medication, or just some companionship and playtime, we’re happy to help. I’m currently a stay at home parent so my schedule is wide open for both days and nights to take on boarding or do visits to other homes. My home has a large fenced area where our three dogs can roam and exercise. I am very reliable and respectful when it comes to entering others’ homes while taking care of their pets.

About: My husband and I have both grown up with dogs. We recently lost our two dogs to cancer and had our first child within the past few months - it has been an emotional rollercoaster. We want our son to be around dogs, but are not ready to get one ourselves yet. This seems like a great way to earn extra money while also being able to love on dogs. I am home with our son every day (week days and weekends) so I am able to watch after dogs any day at any time. We enjoyed taking our dogs on walks in the neighborhood, hiking in the woods, and playing in the yard. We allowed our dogs on the couch and in the bed because they are family.

About: I’ve cared for pets of all ages, from playful puppies to sweet seniors. I’m patient, attentive, and love creating a calm, happy environment. Whether it’s giving medication, handling high-energy dogs, or comforting shy pets, I tailor my care to each pet’s needs. Our pets are our best friends, and it's my goal to ensure that we enjoy our time together! While it may be my job to provide care and love to your pets while you're away, I can also say that I value my time spent with each animal! Nothing makes my heart happier than a wagging tail or a slobbery kiss :) I am currently a college student with a flexible schedule that allows me to care for pets both during school semesters and breaks. I’m committed to providing mindful, loving care whether it’s a quick visit between classes or longer stays during holidays. Your pets will receive consistent attention and companionship no matter the time of year! When pet sitting in your home, I prioritize safety, trust, and a calm environment. About: I have a passion for animals. I worked in a pet store for over year, enjoying being able to help pet owners find what their pets need. It’s rewarding to be able to help pet parents and pets get relief. Animals are giving and loving and I enjoy them so much. I have nine guinea pigs myself (which won’t effect my availability:)) and they are the absolute light of my life. Your pets will get so much love and care with me as your sitter. I love all animals, and I am comfortable with most dog sizes. I grew up with small dogs, rodents, and lizards. I understand that dogs need time outside for relieving themselves as well as exercise and fresh air. Every other kind of pet is also just as amazing, and I’d love to love and care for them too! I will be spending all the time I have with your pet. I wake up early to take care of them and I come home immediately after work to spend the evening with your pet. My job starts early, so I will have most of the afternoon and all evening to spend with them. I spend as much time as possible with your pet. I work full time, but make it a priority to be consistent so your pet knows what to expect from me and feels safe.

About: Are you looking for some love and fun for your girl or boy while their loved one is away ! Can’t wait to see what this brings and the connections I am able to make ! I’m a full-time worker who recently moved to the mountains of Western North Carolina. While I do have a busy schedule during the week, I truly enjoy spending my free time caring for animals and exploring all that the area has to offer. I previously spent time dog sitting in the Atlanta area and had a wonderful experience building relationships with both pets and their owners. If you have a dog or other animal that needs care, I’d love to help! I’m available for house sitting on Saturdays and Sundays, and I can begin house-sitting stays after 5:00 PM on Fridays. My goal is to make sure your pets feel comfortable, safe, and well cared for while you’re away. Feel free to reach out with any questions—I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members! Now that I’m settled in WNC, I’m excited to continue providing dependable and loving care for local pets. With some local parks near it has been fun exploring.

About: As a dedicated dog walker and pet sitter, I bring a genuine passion for animals and a commitment to providing the highest level of care for your furry family members. What sets me apart is my attentive, personalized approach—each dog is unique, and I tailor my services to meet their individual needs, whether it’s a high-energy pup that needs plenty of exercise or a senior dog that requires a gentle pace. With a strong focus on communication, I ensure you're always updated on your pet's activities and well-being. My priority is to create a safe, fun, and enriching experience for your pet while giving you peace of mind. I believe in reliability, punctuality, and a calm, confident demeanor that animals respond well to, helping even the most timid pets feel comfortable and secure. As a stay-at-home dad, I spend my days with my 4-year-old, which gives me a flexible schedule to care for your pets. We enjoy outdoor activities, so dog walking fits perfectly into our routine. I have plenty of time to give your dog the attention and exercise they need throughout the day. It's important that any dog I care for is comfortable around children, as my little one will often be part of our walks and playtime. Your pet will be in a loving, active environment where they’re treated like family. In both my home and my clients' homes, I prioritize a routine that keeps pets happy, healthy, and well-cared for. I ensure pets are fed regularly, with my puppy receiving three meals a day. I’m diligent about providing frequent potty breaks, especially after naps, meals, and playtimes. I engage pets in stimulating exercise that is both fun and beneficial, like retrieving and tug of war, which my puppy loves. I also create a safe and comfortable space for them to rest, such as a crate for my puppy. Throughout the day, I incorporate short obedience training sessions to reinforce good behavior and keep their minds active.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
