“Sheridan was wonderful start to finish for an overnight with our dog, Shiloh! Shiloh is a sweet but anxious dog with some very particular instructions regarding her care, and Sheridan was happy to accommodate. We came home to a happy dog and our house exactly as we left it. Update photos and texts throughout her stay were thorough and helped us feel comfortable! We would 100% have Sheridan watch Shiloh again!”

“We booked Grey last minute and he was more than willing to help. He came the day before for a consult and seemed genuinely excited. He stayed with our dog who has separation anxiety, and didn’t leave her the entire day. We will definitely be using Grey during our visits to Waynesville.”

“Sara was so welcoming to Tashi. She took him for walks and let him nap on the couch. He stayed 2 nights while we hiked in Zion. He was happy and refreshed when we picked him up. I highly recommend Sara and using this service if you are exploring the National Parks that do not allow dogs on trails.”

“Autumn was awesome! She did a fantastic job with our dog while we were away for 2 weeks. Very responsive and took great care of our dog. We will be booking with her for our future sitter needs and highly recommend her!”

“Sonya was great! She stayed with our dog Moose and our gecko Spike. She sent so many wonderful photos and communicated throughout. We really appreciate her taking such good care of them both.”

“Laura is an amazing pet and house sitter! My pup can have some behaviors nand trouble meeting new people, but he immediately loved Laura and felt comfortable with her. My kitties too are very skiddish, but from photos they seemed to be comfortable with Laura’s presence. Not to mention, I came home to a clean house which enabled me to relax after a busy weekend away. Thank you so much and the fur babies cannot wait to see you again!”

“Lillie was able to help us out on short notice and took great care of Zander and Ziva. Definitely recommend and will happily book again! We received frequent checkins and plenty of cute pics of the pups.”

“Mandolyn was great with our pup! She engaged him mentally and physically and was a trooper keeping him occupied during several days of rain. She listened, followed instructions and takes her job seriously. Will definitely use her again.”

About: I have been looking after animals my entire life. I watched pets for neighbors growing up, walking, feeding and administering medicine. I have looked after dogs and cats for friends whenever they go out of town. I currently work weekday mornings, and two days a week I also work afternoons. My morning shifts are 6 hours, so I will have time to check on your fur babies early in the morning, and again around 2pm most days, or until 6pm the other two days. I’m free all day saturdays and sundays! I will follow whatever instructions you leave for me regarding how you’d like me to care for your pet while you’re away. I can administer medicine if necessary, and will give lots of love no matter what!
“Kaycee was great! Reliable, trustworthy, respectful of our home, and took great care of our 3 dogs! She even gave love and treats to our sweet chickens. This was our first time using Rover because two of our dogs are elderly and we didn’t feel like it was the right move to board them in a kennel. Kaycee eased all our worries about leaving them at home with frequent updates and photos - we knew they were in kind hands!”

“Kathleen was a great help taking care of our two dogs while we were out of town overnight! She was very communicative with updates and photos and was comfortable with giving oral meds. We would highly recommend her and hope to book her again soon. Thanks again Kathleen!”

“Amber provided excellent care for all of my pets. From her photos it was very clear that Amber made my nervous puppy feel completely safe and comfortable. Furthermore it was very evident my cats loved her company. I am super pleased with her services and would recommend.”

“Ginger is by far the best pet sitter we have ever had! From the moment we met her, we knew that our furry kids would be very well cared for. Both of our dogs really love her. For the very first time, we can go out of town and not worry a bit about our pets. What a relief! Ginger kept in close contact with us and sent pictures frequently. She stayed in our home and left it in immaculate condition. I highly recommend giving Ginger a try. You'll be very glad you did!!”

About: I am new to Asheville, and I’m excited to spend my days exploring the area with your pup by my side! Since my husband works during the day, I have a flexible schedule that allows me to give your dog the one-on-one attention, exercise, and companionship they deserve; not just a quick visit. I’m also looking forward to learning about different breeds as my husband and I prepare for dog ownership ourselves, so you can trust that I’ll care for your dog with genuine enthusiasm, patience, and lots of love :) I relocated with my husband for his job, so my hours are pretty open with notice for the foreseeable future! I enjoy hiking and walking, so i am happy to combine those activities with taking your pet along :) Your dog will enjoy a calm, comfortable home in West Asheville with plenty of space to relax and receive individualized attention. I typically opt for taking dog walks in parks or hiking trails instead of my neighborhood. Because I’m home during the day, your pup won’t be left alone for long and will receive lots of companionship, play, potty breaks, and affection throughout their stay. I treat every dog like they’re my own, ensuring they feel safe, loved, and right at home.
“Constance was an excellent house sitter and friend to my sweet Quincy while I was away. She provided daily updates and pictures. She left my apartment cleaner than when I left. Thank you Constance for your care and attention! Quincy had a great time with you!”

“William was great with my puppy. He sent pictures and even saved her from eating a plastic chew toy that was left behind at the dog park. He gives wonderful updates that makes you feel at ease. Repects the space and kept things clean. Will definitely book again!”

About: Hello! I’m a nurse pursuing a graduate degree and pet and house sitting on the side. I’ve had cats & dogs my whole life, and have cared for little reptile pets as well! I have experience walking, running and playing with dogs of all sizes and petsitting durations from an overnight to one month at a time with both dogs and cats. No dogs (or cats!) are too big or too small. I enjoy helping pets get outside and active, or doting on them at home. I’m comfortable with puppies and elderly dogs and cats, and can run with your more energetic pups to get their yayas out! My schedule is very flexible and I take pet care seriously - I want you to be worry-free while you’re on vacation or busy at work. I have three fully remote weekdays per week and one half remote day, so plenty of quality time to spend with your pup. I’m available for scheduled weekly walks, one-off check-in’s and walks, as well as for overnight stays and longer pet sitting periods. I’m currently a full-time student with lots of lunch break time and three fully remote days a week to tend to pups & cats! I’m happy to help with short or long at home care while you’re traveling, or to set up a weekly walking (or running) schedule with your dogs. Reach out and we can discuss what works best! I offer pet sitting in your pets’ home spaces, and am happy to adapt to specific needs while at your home. I’m an early-to-bed and early-to-rise person, so I’ll be able to spend plenty of time with your pets and help them get active before I head anywhere for a few hours! I can provide feeding and medication administration, and have experience with pills, creams, dressing changes and insulin injections for pets.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Clyde
This was the first time we used Rover in Waynesville. We were very pleased with our experience with Sheridan. She was prompt with her visits, communicated well sending messages and pictures and she played outside with boys giving them the attention they needed. At our meet and greet she took notes and we could tell he was a very caring and responsible person. He will definitely book with Sheridan again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Clyde walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Clyde maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Clyde choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Clyde. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 99% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
