About: Hi there, I am new to Rover but all my life I have loved and cared for animals. I got my first kitten when I was five and in my adult life expanded that love and care to dogs. I currently do not have one of my own but I am a volunteer dog walker at an animal shelter. Throughout my adult life I have had wonderful neighbors with whom we have traded dog walking and overnight care with while traveling. Now that I am newly retired I am looking to expand my time and attention to pet parents living in Annandale and Clinton. I am available to drop in, walk and play with your best friend in your neighborhood, and I can stay overnight while you are out of town to keep your dog safe and secure in their known environment. I am also happy to assist with simple chores in your home such as taking care of plants, retrieving mail and any other small but important tasks. I am also willing to board dogs and cats in my home if that is more convenient for pet parents. I am newly retired so have a fairly flexible schedule. I do stay engaged with other activities and travel, so scheduling in advance is very important to me so that when I do schedule care for a pet I want to be sure I have the time to give them the full love and attention they deserve. I am very active for my age in that I run, swim, bike and play pickleball for exercise. Rest assured I am fit enough to handle any dog on a leash. The shelter I volunteer at I deal with a variety of dog personalities and energy levels and adjust accordingly. If you are looking for a pet sitter in your home I can remain in your home for the duration, or if you are just looking for someone to stay overnight with your pet that works too. I am here to accommodate pet parents with whatever accommodations they and their pet are comfortable with. I live on a cul-de-sac with only three other homes on our street. We have a natural, wild area partially in the back and to the side of our home so there is plenty of open space. I have walked many miles throughout my friendly neighborhood streets walking my previous dogs and my neighbor's dog. While in a client's home I am willing to adhere to any schedule the pet parents desire. I am very conscientious of physical security of my property and that of others.

“Bridget and I were unable to meet, due to a last-minute booking, before she agreed to housesitting with my cat Lily. However, that was not an issue at all because she was very communicative and open with me with any problems in her stay. From the photos that I received, it was obvious that Lily trusted her and enjoyed her company, which is any pet parents first concern. On the last day, although I told her that she did not need to do any of it, she washed the linens from her bedroom, as as well as as the previous sitters bedroom linens, all the towels, the shower curtain, and it was obvious that she had cleaned the bathroom and the kitchen spaces as well. This was above and beyond, but I think it goes to show her attention to detail and her desire to leave your home in the same or better condition than she found it. I would not hesitate to reach out to Bridget again when I have to travel.”

Not only did he take care of our dogs but was willing to take care of our Ferret and Goldfish and still did an amazing job! About: I have loved every dog like its my own and cant wait to prove that to you! I love to send as many pictures and updates when I can as well as keep the home in cleaner than how I left it! I am a college student so my schedule its complex but not filled! I have alot of free time especially on the weekends and I have alot of free time during the afternoons on weekdays! I always like to make sure I know the puppers lifestyle before working with them so I can prepare accordingly in my schedule to get them the attention that they need as well giving way too many cuddles and hugs! I like to make sure I can see the pupper as leads every 5 hours or sooner to make sure they are comfortable and plan accordingly to give them the undivided attention they all deserve

About: I have been around pets since I was a child and have had my own dog for 6 years and a cat for 2.5 years now. I got my dog as a puppy, so I am more than willing to work with pets of any age. I recently finished my second masters degree and work full time in healthcare 3 days/week but can provide care before work, after work, and on my days off. Having 4 days/week off is great and allows me flexibility with my schedule. I love allowing pets to be part of the family, adventure outside often, and allow walks to be the dogs walk and not my walk.

About: Caring for animals has always been something that comes naturally to me. I’ve spent years around dogs and other pets, helping friends, family, and neighbors with walking, feeding, playtime, and overnight care. I’m comfortable working with dogs and any animal of different sizes, ages, and temperaments, from energetic puppies that need lots of exercise to older dogs that prefer slower walks and extra care. I always focus on creating a calm, safe, and positive environment so pets feel comfortable and secure while their owners are away. Currently work part time at nights and weekends predominantly so I have morning/daytime availablility during the week while you are at work! Can also do overnights any day of the week. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I understand how important it is to trust someone with your furry family member, and I take that responsibility very seriously. I always follow each pet’s routine, care instructions, and any special needs provided by the owner to make sure they feel secure and well cared for. I maintain a calm, clean, and safe environment where pets can relax and feel at home. Whether it’s during a walk, a drop in visit, or extended care, I always keep a close eye on pets and make sure they are safe, comfortable, and happy at all times. I’m attentive to behavior, body language, and any changes in mood or energy so I can respond quickly if something seems off. I also make sure pets have fresh water, proper feeding, plenty of exercise or playtime, and lots of affection. Communication is very important to me, so I provide updates, photos, and messages to keep owners informed and reassured while they’re away.
