“We hired Wade to sit our mini poodle during my wedding all day at our house. He was very punctual, friendly, respectful of our place, and took really good care of our dog with the instructions we had left him. Highly recommend his services and will definitely book Wade again in the future if needed.”

“I recently hired Jake as my dog walker, and I couldn't be happier with the experience! He truly went above and beyond my expectations. Not only did he take excellent care of my dog, but he also picked up my mail and even cleaned up my house, which was a delightful surprise. Communication was top-notch; Jake kept me well informed throughout the entire process and sent me tons of pictures, which made me feel connected and reassured while I was away. His attentiveness and dedication to my dog's well-being were evident, and I wholeheartedly recommend his services to anyone in need of a reliable and caring dog walker!”

“Lisa was absolutely wonderful I could not have been happier She sent many pictures and reached out to me daily to tell me what her and Beau were doing. She even said if my flight gets delayed to let her know as she will be there for Beau. The house was in perfect shape as well when I got home. I would just book her now if she’s available. She will be my go to sitter for beau Thank you Lisa”

About: I’ve had pets my whole life. At least two dogs for as long as I can remember, but currently (and for quite some time) I have four dogs and two cats. I’ve helped train my pets from puppies and cared for them as senior so I have experience in every aspect of dogs’ and cats’ lives. Ive cared for a coworker’s pets in the past and I’ve worked with horses since I was 8. Animals are my life My weekdays are open, especially once I finish school in mid May. My weekends won’t be free for some time, unfortunately. I’m happy to sit at your home with your pets if wanted, especially during the summer, and I love to take them for walks (I know many good trails) and play with them I wouldn’t want to take pets to my home as it is very full of other animals and I wouldn’t want to overwhelm mine or your pets, however I am happy to care for your pets at your home and I will do whatever needed to make your pets comfortable, especially around a new person
“Hannah did a great job not only managing our 2 100+ lb Ridgebacks, but she took immaculate care of our home as well! We will definitely ask her to sit for us again. Highly recommended!”

About: I have had dogs and cats all my life, worked at pet shelters, and know how to handle large, small, and any breed of dog/cat I have most of my free time in the mornings to around 3-4PM. I work: Mondays 11-8PM Tuesdays 4-8 Wednesdays 2-8 Thursdays 3-8 Fridays 3-6 Every other Saturday 9-2 Sundays Off. I can come before or straight after work, or really whenever i am not at work ◡̈ I take my dogs on 3-4 walks a day, take them to dog parks, take them to starbucks for pup-cups, and my cat has plenty of toys and I spend lots of time with him!
“Laura was so helpful with our 15 year old pup, who can be a little quirky. She handled his evening medications perfectly and made us feel completely at ease. We’re so grateful to know he was in such good hands, thank you!”

“Sarah stayed with our dog Molly for 2 days and nights. She did an awesome job! We could see from all the pictures and updates that Molly was well cared for. Would highly recommend Sarah!”

About: I’m lucky enough to have an open schedule, which means your pet will get my full, undivided attention without being left alone for long stretches of time. I’ve taken care of a little bit of everything - dogs, cats, and even guinea pigs - so I’m really comfortable adapting to whatever unique routine your animal needs. My love playing with animals, chilling with them, and just watching them do what they do. One of my biggest strengths is working with pets who are on the shy or anxious side. I know how stressful it can be for them when their owners are away, so I’m incredibly patient. I know how to read their body language, give them the space they need, and just let them open up to me at their own pace until they feel completely safe. I am currently on summer break from college and take care of my own dogs at home. I make sure to give them everything they need from walks to play to just sitting around together. My main priority is keeping a constant eye on your pet and sticking as close to their normal routine as possible. Whether I'm staying at your place or visiting, your pet won't be left alone for long stretches, which really helps prevent separation anxiety. While I'm in a client's home, I will treat it with total respect and keep everything secure. I will make sure that all doors and gates are locked securely every time I leave your home, and I always keep dogs on a leash during walks. Because I have experience with everything from energetic dogs and cats to smaller pets like guinea pigs, I’m very aware of safety and choking hazards, like making sure small items or dangerous foods are out of reach.
“Bridget and I were unable to meet, due to a last-minute booking, before she agreed to housesitting with my cat Lily. However, that was not an issue at all because she was very communicative and open with me with any problems in her stay. From the photos that I received, it was obvious that Lily trusted her and enjoyed her company, which is any pet parents first concern. On the last day, although I told her that she did not need to do any of it, she washed the linens from her bedroom, as as well as as the previous sitters bedroom linens, all the towels, the shower curtain, and it was obvious that she had cleaned the bathroom and the kitchen spaces as well. This was above and beyond, but I think it goes to show her attention to detail and her desire to leave your home in the same or better condition than she found it. I would not hesitate to reach out to Bridget again when I have to travel.”

“Erica was fantastic sitting for my cat Lily while I was on vacation. It was a last minute request due to a family illness, and it couldn’t have worked out better. Erica provided multiple daily updates/photos, and I I could tell Lily was very comfortable. I will absolutely use Erica again!”

About: I have been around pets since I was a child and have had my own dog for 6 years and a cat for 2.5 years now. I got my dog as a puppy, so I am more than willing to work with pets of any age. I recently finished my second masters degree and work full time in healthcare 3 days/week but can provide care before work, after work, and on my days off. Having 4 days/week off is great and allows me flexibility with my schedule. I love allowing pets to be part of the family, adventure outside often, and allow walks to be the dogs walk and not my walk.
About: I have loved every dog like its my own and cant wait to prove that to you! I love to send as many pictures and updates when I can as well as keep the home in cleaner than how I left it! I am a college student so my schedule its complex but not filled! I have alot of free time especially on the weekends and I have alot of free time during the afternoons on weekdays! I always like to make sure I know the puppers lifestyle before working with them so I can prepare accordingly in my schedule to get them the attention that they need as well giving way too many cuddles and hugs! I like to make sure I can see the pupper as leads every 5 hours or sooner to make sure they are comfortable and plan accordingly to give them the undivided attention they all deserve
About: I have worked at the pet shop in town for almost 5 years. I have learned a lot about nutrition and am here to help with that as well. I have always loved dogs & animals. I have 3 dogs now and use to have cats growing up. I have always helped family/ friends with their pets. My cousins would call me “ the dog whisperer” I am very patient and understanding- a dog sometimes is anxious just like us humans. I think taking time out of the day and using interactive toys is so important for stimulation and keeping them busy. I usually am off on sunday & wednesday. I typically work in the morning until 3pm. Can do walks/feed them/ check in’s on the dogs after work. I have lots of grass outside & a gate inside.I would play with them outside, make sure they have a harness and a longer line ( so they are safe)& take them for walks. I can brush the dogs as well. I do prefer to stop at the clients house. I have 2 dogs at my house - it can be a lot. In the clients house I would first make sure the dog goes outside to the bathroom upon arrival. I would take them for a walk, play with the dogs outside( depending on the gate situation) Make sure they have lots of water, food & i can brush them.

“Diana is an awesome pet and house sitter. She took such good care of my two dogs and stayed in touch with me every step of the way. She also kept the house beautifully. I appreciate all the thought and care that she put into making sure that my pups were well cared for and that I felt reassured. She also sent very nice pictures regularly. Diana was also very responsible making sure that she was available if there were any problems with my flight coming home so the dogs would not be left for too long unattended. I can not say enough about how positive an experience this has been.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - High Bridge
Megan was wonderful with my crew. She made sure that she understood their daily routines and medication needs so that they were happy and well taken care of. She kept me updated with photos and information throughout the day, which helped me feel less stressed while I was away. She was clean and courteous with my home. I hope she will be able to care for my crew again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred High Bridge walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in High Bridge maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in High Bridge choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
