About: My family has owned and cared for dogs and cats since I was old enough to remember. My dog breed experience runs the gamut from Yellow Lab to Chihuahua and everything in between. So, I am comfortable with ‘multiple personality’ pooches! I have a chill Chihuahua (hard to believe I know) and a cat. They are very respectful of each other and both easily tolerate other dogs. I work from home Monday through Friday and I’m home most weekends so I am available for spontaneous ‘urgent’ potty breaks, as needed, as well as leisurely strolls throughout the day. I have a fenced in grass yard, perfect for small dogs, but still never leave my own dog outside unaccompanied. I have neighbors on both sides each with lovely dogs so there is always an opportunity for impromptu play dates.
“My pup came home happy and tired!!! Ana was incredibly communicative and responsive throughout the whole process and made sure to send me a picture of my girl every day!! I would absolutely bring her back and recommend Ana to anyone!!!”

“We love the atmosphere at Sarah's home and so does our dog, Gibson, too! This was the second time Gibson was at Sarah's for a week each time. We know he wasn't bored because he was worn out & content : )”

“It was great experience again with Ryan as that of last time. We got regular and timely updates on Sparkle and she looked happy with him. Thanks Ryan for taking care of Sparkle so well.”

“Emma was amazing! She was responsible, caring, and responsive. She kept us updated with pictures and messages, which made us feel completely at ease while we were away. Our dog had a fantastic time and got along wonderfully with her dog, Mac, which made the stay even better. We’re so grateful for her care and will definitely book with her again!”

“This was my first time using Rover and I was very happy going with Kyle to watch my dog over the weekend. He and his family clearly have a system and have a lot of experience dog sitting. I received pictures and updates while my pup was there. His family was super sweet and I was relieved knowing that my dog was in great hands.”

“Kristina and her family treated our dog just like a part of her family. We loved being updated with pictures of how happy our old gal was doing. Thank you so much for taking great care of Penny! ????”

About: What sets me apart from other sitters is the deep, lifelong bond I’ve had with dogs and my genuine passion for caring for them. I grew up with my beloved Maltese, who was a part of my life for many years and truly shaped my love for animals. Over the past 20 years, I’ve cared for the dogs of friends, family members, coworkers, and even my pastor—building a reputation as the reliable, loving go-to pet sitter in my community. As a teacher, I bring patience, structure, and lots of heart to everything I do—including pet care. I treat every dog like one of my students: with kindness, respect, and a deep commitment to their well-being. Whether it’s a playful puppy or a gentle senior dog, I adapt to their needs, provide consistent care, and ensure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. As I’m currently off for summer break, I have plenty of time and flexibility to dedicate to pet care. I’m available to welcome dogs into my home or provide in-home care at your place through September. I’m happy to give your pets lots of attention, exercise, and love while you’re away! Safety, trust, and comfort are at the core of how I care for every pet. As a lifelong animal lover and educator, I understand how important it is to create a secure, loving environment—whether your dog is staying with me or I’m caring for them in your home. I live near a beautiful local reservoir with a safe walking path that I’ve used with many dogs over the years. I’m very familiar with the area and always remain alert and aware during walks to ensure your pet’s safety. I would never put your beloved pet, another animal, or anyone else in a risky situation. Their well-being comes first—always. As a teacher, safety is second nature to me. I bring that same responsibility and care into my pet-sitting—balancing structure and protection with plenty of fun, love, and tail wags along the way!
“Tiffany was great! Her dog Cash was a perfect playmate for Bailey and her family, especially the 3 year old, was adorable with Bailey. The physical setup is amazing- a huge fenced in yard which connects to a fenced in wraparound deck. Lots of freedom with total safety. I will definitely use Tiffany again if we are in the area.!”

“I feel bad for myself when my dogs have a good time without me. - but THEY LOVE GOING TO DEB’S! An overnight and no problems, no starving themselves, no crying all night. Just a regular day only without me. How lucky am I to have access to this help for my furr babies (and for my soul)!”

“Scott was incredible with Mocha. My family was away on vacation when a huge storm washed away the local highway. Scott brought his family and our Mocha to safety until it was safe to return. I couldn't imagine what would have happened if she was in a kennel with 30 other dogs and that happened!! Scott also sent us pictures every day and we could see she was very relaxed and happy to be there. Thank You Scott!!”

“Barbara was wonderful! It was immediately obvious that she genuinely enjoys caring for dogs. She was very detailed in her engagement, both in person and over the app. All around a very good person. Unfortunately I did not get the opportunity to meet James. Next time hopefully.”

“Elaine was great with my pup Nugget. She sent daily pictures and updated me each evening about Nugget's day. It was wonderful to be able to enjoy my vacation knowing that my fur baby was in such good hands. Will definitely book Elaine again!”

“Sayak was great with Silver. He provided a relaxed environment and sent pictures of my dog comfortably sleeping on his couch. Typically Silver is anxious whenever I leave him but he slept away the afternoon.”

“We were very pleasantly surprised by how professional, kind, and attentive this couple was while caring for our dogs. Since we’re not from the Northeast, we were a little nervous about leaving our pups in an unfamiliar area, but they immediately put our minds at ease. They were incredibly welcoming, communicative, and genuinely caring. We felt confident that our dogs were in great hands, and we’ll absolutely book with them again the next time we’re in the area. Absolutely recommend!”

“Isabella was great. I booked my two dogs last minute and she was so accommodating and communicative. She sent pictures and updates regularly and always let me know what was going on. The dogs loved her and we will be using her again!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
