“Elaine was amazing! She kept me updated on Oreo’s care. She sent me photos. I felt happy to know that my dog was in great hands. Also, she had open availability. Which is great when you plan last minute trips. Highly recommend!!!”

“Awesome! Jean, is excellent! We left our 7-year-old Labradoodle for the first time with Jean for an extended weekend. She treated Simba as if he was her own dog and sent us pics of their wonderful time together multiple times a day. Simba loved it and felt at home. We are so glad we found Jean as she will be our go-to person moving forward.”

“We had such a wonderful experience with Sharon! This was the first time we left our puppy Lake with her, and she immediately put our minds at ease. She sent daily updates, photos, and videos, which made us feel connected and reassured that our puppy was having a great time. It was obvious from every update that our puppy was happy, loved, and very well cared for. Sharon was incredibly attentive, flexible, and treated Lake like one of her own. When we picked her up, she seemed so comfortable and content, which speaks volumes about the care she received. We are so grateful for the love and attention Sharon gave our puppy and would not hesitate to use her again. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and reliable pet sitter!!”

“Jazmine (and her boyfriend Norman) took wonderful care of our 12-year-old black Lab, Judy, who is a cancer survivor and a bit particular—sweet, but needy and not a fan of other dogs. Jazmine cared for her in her home, made sure she had her morning medicine, and sent us daily updates with snuggle photos that made us feel completely at ease. Judy was clearly loved and beautifully looked after. Warm, professional, and trustworthy—highly recommend.”

“Kristie is amazing! She is an absolute sweetheart and took such great care of our girl during our trip away. She is kind, understanding and offers all the flexibility and reassurance you may need when away from your fur baby. Fiona will definitely be back! Thank you Kristie!”

“Kristen was an absolute gem to work with! She sent me pictures of my dog everyday and was very responsive. My dog had an excellent time and seemed to be taken care of very well!”

“Our two large dogs had a great time with Heather and came back so well-rested and happy! We really enjoyed receiving photos during their stay, seeing how much fun they had! Thank you, Heather!”

“I am so grateful to have found Samantha! My recently adopted dog, Brownie, has some anxiety around new people and in new places. Samantha went above and beyond to make sure he felt comfortable during his stay. Her apartment is so clean and cozy and truly a dog's paradise. Her dog, Cocoa, was so friendly and welcoming to Brownie. We got frequent updates during his stay and Samantha is super quick to respond. She is also very flexible around pick up and drop off. I truly cannot thank her enough for watching our sweet boy and making not only him but also our whole family feel comfortable while we are away by knowing that he is safe and happy!! Brownie didn't want to come home with me when I went to pick up because he was too busy playing with all the fun toys! He will be back soon! Thank you again, Samantha.”

“They are truly amazing with Katie, they treated her like one of their own. Very great at sending picture updates of your dog, which gave me a piece of mind. Katie looks so happy in all of the picture and is well taken care of. Im so happy that I came across them in my time of need to take care of Katie for me. Will definitely use again when needed.”

“She is the best dog sitter I have ever met. She sent photos and videos every day so I could tell my dog had a really great time with her and her dog. She accommodated drop-off & pick-up on our schedule as well.”

“Bryan and Jacquelyn took great care of our dog Lucy. They gave us daily updates and pictures. Lucy was allowed on their couch and bed and from the pictures felt like she was very comfortable and felt right at home. We would highly recommend commend them and will book them next time a need comes up for us and if they are available.”

“I can't say enough good things about Bhavani. From the moment we walked in, I felt completely at ease. Bhavani took the time to learn about my dog's routine and preferences, which gave me real peace of mind. Her house was spacious, and full of toys for the furry babies and her kids were so friendly and played with Astro. I loved getting daily photo and video updates and seeing my baby happy and being well-cared-for. When I picked him up, he was calm and happy. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my dog now. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a safe and loving experience.”

“We are so happy we chose Tom to look after Fluffy. He was very professional and kept us posted with pictures. Fluffy is an anxious dog, but Tom made her feel right at home—even letting her sleep on the bed and hang out on the couch. He also let us do a meet-and-greet the day before, which was very helpful. We will definitely be booking with Tom again.”

“Easy 6 out of 5. Jaimie is an excellent sitter, she made sure my pup was happy, active, and comfortable... what more can you ask for with your best fuzzy buddy. I would easily recommend Jaimie to anyone looking for the "right choice" of sitter. She is someone who clearly knows what she's doing, and is very accommodating with people's schedules. She's awesome.”

Joanne took wonderful care of our dog while we were away! She went above and beyond, especially during the Fourth of July fireworks, giving our pup extra attention and comfort during what can be a stressful time. She made sure he got his daily walks, kept us updated, and gave us complete peace of mind. It was clear he was happy, well cared for, and loved while we were gone. We highly recommend Joanne to anyone looking for a reliable, compassionate, and attentive pet sitter!
Tiffany was great! Her dog Cash was a perfect playmate for Bailey and her family, especially the 3 year old, was adorable with Bailey. The physical setup is amazing- a huge fenced in yard which connects to a fenced in wraparound deck. Lots of freedom with total safety. I will definitely use Tiffany again if we are in the area.!

Danielle was very friendly, accommodative, and kept us informed on Coco’s status, on a timely manner. This was the first time for Coco and Danielle made sure he had a very good experience. Danielle was always responsive to any questions. Overall, a 5-star experience.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
