“If you're anything like me, the guilt of being away at work all day weighs on me, but knowing that instead, my fur-baby is now getting tons of attention, pets, walks, and love puts my mind at ease. Getting cuddles from Van Joseph and Matthew, the company of their sweet little dogs, and soft blankets to sleep in is priceless! I got so many precious photos which brightened my day! Overjoyed to have found Van Joseph and Matthew to care for my sweet girl Petunia!!”

“Ellie had a great day with Danielle and Joel! They were very active with her and gave her plenty of outdoor time which we so appreciate! Our pup came home happy and sleepy from her day of play.”

“Thanks Sophie for taking good care of our dog Hobbes! We had Sophie watch Hobbes while we attended a concert in Berkeley. We had drinks at a spot in Oakland beforehand and her place was a quick stop on the way to the venue. Hobbes seemed to have a blast playing while there. She shared some photos which was a nice touch. We will gladly reach out again if we need pet sitting in the area.”

“Michelle is great with dogs. You can see the rapport and experience she has with dogs right away. We started with a meet and greet, where Michelle listened to our expectations and asked questions of us, and we made a booking for a day visit. On drop off, she took our pup R on a quick walk to get her away from us (later, she told us that that's better than having a specific goodbye), and R trotted after her happily. We got some photos and reports during the day, and at pickup time, R was glad to see us, but also went back to Michelle for some petting before we left. We are planning to leave R with Michelle for boarding during our summer holiday.”

“We had a great first daycare with Nikolai! He is very responsive and easy to coordinate with. It was nice to know Jax was having a fun day with other dogs and nice people. Excited to go back again!!”

“Taylor is fantastic. I was in town for work with my wee guy and she took care of him during the times I couldn't have him with me. Rowlf and Taylor made a fast friends. They played and walked and cuddled, she took tons of pics and kept me up to date about their time together, and really supported me while I was working. I'm so grateful I found her. Taylor is super friendly, thorough, and loving. It can be so hard for all of us to trust the care of our babies to a stranger. You can't go wrong here!”

About: I’m a full time artist and WFH sitter with over 15 years of experience caring for dogs and cats of all ages including Puppies, seniors, special needs pets, and sensitive personalities. I live a calm and quiet lifestyle with my senior corgi, Mochi, and my sweet, dog friendly cat, Mumu. Because I’m home most of the day, your pet will get steady attention, a peaceful environment, and care that never feels rushed. My dog Mochi is 10 and has had many health issues, including back leg mobility problems. Caring for her has given me strong experience with senior dogs, medication schedules, mobility support, slow routines, anxious pets and even stroller walks. I grew up with many pets, so caring for animals has always been a natural part of my life. I’ve experienced a negligent sitter in the past whose carelessness sent my dog to the hospital. Because of that I take this work extremely seriously. I’m attentive, detail oriented, cautious and I never take shortcuts especially with older or delicate pets. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. Because I’m an artist I’ll sometimes doodle a small portrait of your pet if time allows, just a little gift for you. A little about why I joined Rover: I recently moved into a larger space which has allowed me to comfortably host more pets. I also decided to start pet sitting as a way to help offset the rising costs of my senior dog’s insurance. It’s important to me that I can continue providing the best care for her and Rover lets me do that while offering attentive, reliable care to other pets as well. I WFH so I’m home most of the day. Pet care fits naturally into my routine I already have a senior dog with daily feeding, meds so I’m used to gentle and structured care throughout the day. I take breaks to give pets attention, walks, playtime and lots of calm company. Your pet would be part of my daily rhythm not an afterthought I maintain a calm and supervised home where safety comes first. Pets get slow introductions and secure spaces and constant oversight since I work from home. My corgi is crate-trained and my cat has high-ground access so everyone has their own safe zones. I follow your schedule exactly : feeding, walks, meds, and activities so your pet stays on their normal routine. They’ll have a safe comfortable place to play or nap all day and can sleep with me at night if they'd like to. Diet & Feeding I follow your pet’s exact feeding schedule and portion sizes to keep everything consistent. I always make sure pets stay hydrated, especially in warmer weather. I feed my dog and guest dogs separately to avoid any food guarding or stress during mealtimes. Hygiene & Cleanliness I keep pets clean and comfortable throughout the day : wiping paws if needed, cleaning eye discharge and keeping their space tidy. I’m very detailoriented about maintaining a clean safe environment. Walk Safety All dogs are leashed outdoors at all times. I stay alert around other dogs separate pets immediately if there are signs of stress or tension and prevent ground eating or unsafe sniffing areas. I’m always attentive and I clean up after them every time. Sleeping Arrangements My own dog prefers her own bed and doesn’t sleep with me but your dog is welcome to sleep wherever they feel comfortable whether that’s in their own bed, the crate or in the bed with me for extra comfort. I make sure every pet has a safe cozy sleeping setup.
About: I get dogs. Seriously. I notice the dozens of signals, from facial expressions to body, tail, and vocal cues, and respond in ways that keep them safe, calm, and confident. My raison d'etre is to help dogs grow. Fur parents trust me because I’m dependable, chill, and fully tuned in to their pup’s needs. From playful puppies to wise seniors, every dog in my care feels safe, loved, and understood. Overnight stays? I’ve got it handled - your dog gets enrichment and comfort, and you get total peace of mind. I work from home 3–4 hours a day, but my schedule is completely flexible. This means I’m available most days and evenings to walk, play with, and supervise dogs. I integrate pet care into my daily rhythm, paying close attention to each dog’s energy, cues, and individual needs. Overnight stays are smooth and comforting, with consistent routines and plenty of companionship. Being home for flexible periods allows me to provide reliable, attentive care, ensuring every pup feels happy, safe, and understood while their owners are away. Safety, trust, and a chill environment come first. My home is cozy and indoor-focused, with plenty of walks, play, and attention. I have an eight-year-old mix who’s friendly with some dogs, so I make sure every pup is a good fit before visits. I tune into each dog’s energy, supervise interactions closely, and keep owners in the loop — so every pup feels secure, happy, and genuinely understood.
“Nathalie was very welcoming to Murphy and spent a lot of time with him, ensuring he would adjust to the other dogs, etc. She sent videos and photos and let me know how he was doing all day. She is skilled, kind and lovely.”

About: i’ve been a dog mom for 20+ years and have basically had dogs my whole life. i trained my own dog from puppyhood and i’ve helped friends (and other pet parents) with basic training and routine stuff too. i’ve taken multiple training classes, so i’m comfortable with things like leash manners, boundaries, and reinforcing good behavior in a calm, consistent way. i’m naturally really good with dogs and i’m great at reading their body language, even the ones that are anxious, reactive, or “don’t usually like people.” i’m patient, confident, and i keep things low-stress so pups feel safe and listened to. i work from home, so i’ve got plenty of time to give your pup real attention throughout the day (not just quick check-ins). i’m happy to do multiple walks a day, and since i’m near downtown oakland, we’ve got plenty of great walk routes, lake merritt, nearby parks, and lots of good “sniffari” streets. in my home, your pup gets a safe, relaxed setup with lots of attention. i have a fenced patio so they can hang in the sun and get fresh air, and inside they’ll have plenty of room to stretch out, lounge, and roam comfortably. we’ve also got nearby open spaces, fields, and trails for walks and play. depending on your dog and what you’re comfortable with, i can do off-leash play (only where it’s safe/appropriate) or keep everything leashed, solo adventures or playtime with my dogs if your pup enjoys company. i’m big on following your routine and keeping things consistent: feeding schedules, meds, crate time, training cues, slow introductions, whatever your dog needs. i’m totally comfortable with seniors, shy/anxious pups, and dogs with special instructions. and if your dog would do best with more backyard time, i can also utilize my girlfriend’s place nearby with a fully fenced backyard for extra outdoor play/sniff time (with your permission).

About: I have been the primary caregiver for my personal dog for about 14 years, navigating every stage of her life from puppyhood to her current age of 14, even though she still has her puppy energy. This experience has made me highly vigilant about senior care. I am comfortable with mobility support, medication management, as well as senior intuition. I know how to read the subtle signs of an aging dog’s comfort and energy levels. Last year, I adopted a two-year-old pocket bully, which has deepened my expertise in handling strong, energetic breeds. I understand that breeds like bullies are often misunderstood as they just need a structured, positive leadership. I offer confident walking for dogs that pull or need extra focus in urban areas, keeping high-energy dogs engaged with praise and clear boundaries. I always prioritize your dog’s space and safety during walks to ensure a stress-free experience. I currently enjoy a very flexible homebase lifestyle, which allows me to make your pet my primary focus throughout the day because I don’t have a traditional 9-5 commute. I can offer reliable midday visits. I am available for those crucial 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. walk slots when most owners are stuck at work for daycare and onboarding. I can easily accommodate your specific commute times; your pet won’t be left alone for long stretches. I am here to provide companionship, frequent potty breaks, and immediate attention. My schedule often allows me to help out with short-notice bookings when your plans change unexpectedly. whether I am hosting your pet at my home or visiting yours, safety is my absolute priority. My experience managing a 14 year-old senior. Any two-year-old pocket. Bully has taught me that every dog requires a unique safety protocol. In My Home (Daycare & Boarding) • I have a 100% supervision policy. Pets are never left unattended with my own dogs. I use baby gates and exercise pens to create a safe zone for meal time and rest resting. • my home is optimized for older dogs with nonslip surfaces and quiet areas for napping • I am extremely careful with the reason and always ensure harness or leashes are securely fitted before any door is opened In Your Home(Sitting, walking, & drop ins) • I treat your home with the utmost respect I double check that all doors and gates are locked up upon arrival and departure • I am hyper aware of my surroundings. I’m maintaining a firm grip on the leash. Avoid nose to nose, greetings with unknown dogs and advocate for your dog personal space. • I always check water bowls and monitor for any changes in behavior or bathroom habits, especially for senior clients I believe in over communication you will receive regular photo updates in a summary of our activities if your pet has a specific medical or behavioral regimen I follow it to the letter to ensure their routine remains consistent while you are away

Clawson dog parents share their Rover experiences
I have never used a dog sitter prior to my encounter with Brittney. And I have not been disappointed at all. She has been phenomenal with my dog. Eager to learn more about her to make sure she is most comfortable while she is with her. Very kind, patient and really treats my baby like family. She has given me such a peace of mind knowing my girl is in good hands while I am at work.

Thank you for watching our sweet Porky pie. He had such a great time. We love that he gets to have play time with other dogs and so glad he got along so well with Nala. Loved all the great updates while away, it really made my heart happy to see he is well taken care of while we are away. Highly recommend to anyone needing a pet sitter. Amazing communication!!! And your pet will be well taken care of.

Autumn was an amazing sitter for our pup over the holidays. We arranged a meet and greet ahead of time so Miso had a chance to meet her dog and see the space. She was a great communicator and very responsive. We needed her sitting a little past the typical rover evening cutoff and she was happy to accommodate. Our pup was a little sad when we left him but Autumn took a bunch of steps to make him feel comfortable and he soon settled in. We highly recommend Autumn if you want personalized service and care for your pup!

Sophia is wonderful. My dog clearly felt safe & comfortable around her. She is a gem & I would definitely use her again. She provided clear descriptions of how my senior goldendoodle behaved during the sit. I am grateful for her outstanding care. She is a genuine pet lover.
I boarded RaKi with Anand for about a week, and I would definitely recommend him as an amazing caretaker. He was very communicative, responsive, and upfront about any concerns he noticed, while still handling everything calmly and confidently which was incredibly reassuring, especially with RaKi being just 4 months old and me being a new pup parent. Anand showed genuine care and love toward RaKi, and he kept me updated regularly with photos and behavior notes. I truly appreciated the attention, transparency, and kindness he put into caring for my puppy. He even sent RaKi home with a couple of toys he enjoyed during his stay, such a thoughtful gesture! Highly recommend Anand!

My puppy was so happy to see Emily again! She also enjoyed her time with Emily's dog that included a long walk. Appreciate the pictures from today. Dolly was tired when we arrived home, and that's always a good thing! Thank you again, Emily for taking such good care of my puppy!
