Lisa and Jon took care of my dog for a full week and they were excellent. Great communication, and regular updates with pictures, and our dogs seemed to get along great. We had no issues and I’ll definitely be coming back to Lisa and Jon the next time I have to leave town :)

Joan and Duncan quickly agreed to do a meet and greet at their home before Carmella's (my 11 yr old pitbull) first time staying with them, with maybe less than a week before I needed them, so that was very kind. Carmella had a pleasant overnight stay with Joan and Duncan. They were very communicative, sending me updates via text on how she was doing and pictures of her playing with her toys and cuddling. I absolutely appreciate things like that!

Andrew and his wife took excellent care of our dog over the weekend. It was his first time staying with them, so they sent me several updates and photos to let me know how he was doing. When we picked him up, they sent me home with a handwritten note, dog treats, and a new chew toy. A very thoughtful finishing touch!

About: I have a love for dog that goes back as far as I can remember. My dogs are my children. I will treat your pups as if they are my own. I work overnights so the day is usually open. I will be here if your pup needs anything. I also have cameras in the home to monitor when I’m not home. I have a friendly dog. She is free roam and she loves to play. I have a park nearby and have a fenced in yard. Frequent walks and play time expected.

I can’t say enough about how wonderful Tawni was with my dog, Ivy Rose. This was a last-minute request and I was so nervous to leave Ivy while we went to the beach — I even cried when I left her. Tawni immediately reassured me that Ivy would be in great hands. She kept in constant contact the entire time, sending lots of updates and pictures, which truly gave me peace of mind. What really stood out is how mindful she was of Ivy’s temperament. Ivy can be apprehensive in new situations, and Tawni went out of her way to read her body language, respect her comfort zone, and make sure others gave her space. She even made sure Ivy was the only dog in her care, adjusting her schedule so my girl could feel completely safe. It’s rare to find someone so caring, attentive, and communicative. Tawni went above and beyond, and I’m so grateful for the love and attention she gave Ivy. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for someone who treats your pet like family.

Carrie and her husband took excellent care of my almost 16 year old pug. I haven’t left her with anyone else in a very long time so was a little nervous, for both her and the sitter. She kept me updated with texts and pictures and was told she was just fine. I’m hoping she can go there again when I need overnight stays.

Elizabeth did awesome with our nervous dog. Before booking, she suggested a "trial run" which was great. We had our dog Ozzie stay with her for a weekend and he was very happy when we picked him up, obviously well cared for, and she sent pics while we were gone, too! We plan on working with Elizabeth again when we need another dog sitter. Thank you, Elizabeth!

About: I grew up with both cats and dogs, so caring for animals has always come naturally to me and remains one of the most rewarding parts of my life. I currently have my own dog, who I adopted as a puppy while I was in college and is now 4 years old. Raising her has given me experience with training, building routines, and understanding different stages of a dog’s development. I’m comfortable administering medication, brushing and bathing, handling anxious behaviors, and keeping pets on their regular care schedules. I also have experience walking dogs that pull and can confidently handle strong or high-energy pups while keeping walks safe and structured. Whether your pet needs active playtime, consistent routines, or gentle care and attention, I’m patient and attentive, and I treat every pet like my own. As a current medical student, I understand the importance of flexibility and prioritizing a pet's needs. I pride myself on being reliable, communicative, and dependable. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priorities. I am excited to learn about your pet's unique personality and am more than happy to accommodate any specific requests. As a medical student, my schedule is currently very flexible, which allows me to thoughtfully plan pet care into my daily and weekly routine. While there are periods of time when I am less available, I’m committed to clear communication about my availability and will always work to accommodate your pet’s needs as best as possible. Time management is extremely important to my academic program, and I bring that same organization, dependability, and attention to detail to pet care. I take pride in my work and practice compassionate, attentive care in everything I do. Most importantly, I genuinely love animals and value the trust you place in me to care for them. In my home, I provide a safe, calm, and structured environment where pets can feel comfortable and secure. I currently live in an apartment located directly across the street from a dog park with both large and small dog areas, which allows for convenient, safe, and appropriate exercise based on your dog’s size and temperament. The neighborhood is safe and very pet-friendly. I’m attentive to maintaining each pet’s normal routine, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any medications or special care needs. I make sure pets receive both physical activity and plenty of attention and affection. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I prioritize consistency and respect for your space. I’m happy to follow detailed instructions and maintain your pet’s usual routine to minimize stress. I’m also willing to travel or make special trips if your dog attends daycare, has a preferred park, or enjoys a specific walking route. My goal is to make your pet feel as comfortable and cared for as possible, wherever they are.

Super caring and very sweet, she provided a fun and loving environment for Zac that a normal kennel could not match. I would absolutly reccomend her again, and will be setting up future play dates for Zac and Freya. Thank you Debbie!

5 stars for Eden , Gemma was well taken care of and loved while I was on vacation. Can't thank her enough for the excellent care. This was my first time boarding and had a wonderful experience. Loved the sitter but didn't love Roverr the app because I was charged holiday pricing for all 9 days when only 1 day was a holiday.

Wonderful dog sitter. I had absolutely no concern when I dropped off my Labrador, except that she might like him more than me 😊. He was very flexible taking in my dog over Easter weekend with less than a day of notice because I had to be in the hospital for surgery on very short notice. I appreciate what he did and I know my dog enjoyed her stay!

There are 221 sitters on Rover for Pet Boarding in Cicero. About 90% of Cicero sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you’re planning ahead for holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
