“Donna is the absolute best! She treated Luna like the princess she is covering her with soft blankees and keeping her happy and comforted. She went out of her way to bring her home as well by request. We can’t thank Donna enough!”

About: I'm an enthusiastic dog walker and sitter that has a passion for dogs and rescuing them. I have been involved in dog rescue and fostering in the Syracuse area for a number of years. I've cared for a number of my own dogs and cats from young to seniors. I've also been a foster parent to a number of dogs when rescues needed someone. I can handle the most challenging of dogs down to little babies and everything in between. Your dog will get plenty of love and attention when I'm around! I give all dogs the same love and affection I would give my own dog and see the importance of cuddle and buddy time along with good exercise. I show confidence when I'm with a dog so that they know there is trust with me from the beginning. I currently work part time, so have plenty of time to spend with your fur baby. I am always available after 3:00 p.m. during the week, before 8:00 a.m. or anytime on the weekends. I've got a very pet friendly home. I live in a single story, ranch house that has a fully fenced back yard. I do not have children at home that we would need to worry about and I'm very respectful if needed to go into a client's home. Safety and security are always at the forefront.
“Lindsey was amazing with my dog, Teddy! He had such a great time on her farm — it truly felt like a little vacation for him. She took wonderful care of him and kept me updated with fantastic photos and detailed messages about how he was doing. I really appreciated the communication and felt completely at ease knowing he was in such good hands. I would happily recommend Lindsey to anyone and will definitely book with her again in the future!”

“Georgianne was so responsive and easy to work with. She handled both of my cats with ease and was just an overall wonderful person. I would definitely recommend her!”

“Irena took great care of our older Bassett Hound. She kept us updated while on a 3 week trip. Her yard is large, and her family helped care for our dog with outside time and walks. I will definitely use her services again!”

“Carrie and her husband took excellent care of my almost 16 year old pug. I haven’t left her with anyone else in a very long time so was a little nervous, for both her and the sitter. She kept me updated with texts and pictures and was told she was just fine. I’m hoping she can go there again when I need overnight stays.”

“Elayeshia and her family are always the most thoughtful caregivers for Oreo. It always feels like I’m leaving Oreo with a family member instead of a stranger. Thank you guys always! 🙏❤️”

“Christine & Matthew were great! Easy to book with and sent pictures of our girl enjoying her time with their kid! Bonnie left happy and it was a relief not having to worry about her on our quick trip.”

“Too many great things to say. Flexible on the pickup and drop off, super communicative, doggy was tired when I picked her up, nice home environment. Appreciate that she spent time at the park with my little one. Highly recommended!”

“Being our first board with our puppy we were very apprehensive. We got numerous photos from Jocelyn a day. Many including her family. Really put us at ease. Definitely would bring her back.”

“Tiffany did a great job taking care of my pup for 3 days. She’s got a great fenced in yard to play in, she took her for walks & sent plenty of pics & updates. My dog & hers got along great; we’ll definitely use Tiffany again. I highly recommend Tiffany to take care of your pup!”

“Mat and Christie took great care of my dog. He was happy and got along great with their pets. He was taken for walks and I was updated on his stay with pictures.”

“Jenna was super friendly and laid back. She was cautious and had a meet and greet to see if my dog would get along with her dog before accepting my booking. She sent pictures to me while my dog was there and kept me updated on his days there. I will Definately be using Jenna again and highly recommend her to anyone needing a sitter for their dog.”

“Kiera took such wonderful care of my senior guy! I dropped him off at her home while I moved into my new place and I had such peace of mind knowing he was in good hands. Kiera sent me pics and videos of Chico playing and out on walks with her sweet senior girl! I will definitely bring Chico back to Kiera’s in the future.”

“Amanda was amazing! She took great care of my dogs, making sure they were happy and comfortable the entire time. She provided updates and pictures that reassured me everything was going well. Her attention to detail and genuine love for animals really stood out. I highly recommend Amanda for anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter.”

“We received a lot of video/photo updates of Myko during his stay, and were very thankful that they accommodated a late pick-up due to traffic back from our vacation. Thank you for taking such great care of our boy!”

“Yakelin is a miracle worker! She was not only available last minute, but was expertly qualified to handle our 2 husky puppies! The most impressive part is that they came back even more well behaved than when we dropped them off! I wish I could leave 100 stars!!!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
