“My 8 yr old husky mix has never had much luck socializing with other dogs until we met Cynthia and her sweet labs. We could tell pretty early on that Cynthia seemed to understand Juno’s issues and we could also see how well dogs respond to her energy and directions. Juno had her first successful play date all because of Cynthia’s patience, kindness and understanding . She cares for others’ dogs as if they were her own (including plenty of love, adventures and treats!) We feel lucky to have Cynthia help us as much as she helps Juno.”

“Yesel was wonderful! Our dog had a great time with her and her sweet dog Ripley. She was also super flexible and understanding with coordinating pick-up and drop-off plans when we ran into some scheduling issues with our house sitter. It was clear that she was experienced and comfortable with dogs and caring for them. We will definitely contact her again!”

About: I've taken care of friends' and neighbors' pets from a very young age and always felt a strong bond with animals of all types. My participation in behavioral training with my dog has made me well equipped to handle a variety of situations in other dogs, as well! I am trained on administration of certain medications. I work part time and am applying to medical school at this time. I stay home most days and like to walk my dog on some nearby trails when the weather is nice. Frequent potty breaks. Lots of areas to walk in a quiet neighborhood and on nearby trails. Experience with behavioral issues in dogs so light training and positive reinforcement mechanisms will be practiced!

“April did amazing watching our puppy! You can really tell she has a joy for animals. She was very flexible and accommodating and sent lots of updates throughout. Our pup was definitely well taken care of!!! Will be booking again in the future!!! :)”

“Heather was an amazing host for my puppy, Odin! She sent me pictures throughout the day and got him out for a nice, long walk. My initially hesitant boy even took a minute to notice me when I picked him up, because he had obviously become so comfortable under Heather’s care. Can’t recommend enough!”

“I had to leave my dog for a long day this weekend and I’m so grateful this worked out. They were great at knowing how to be mindful of introducing my dog to the new space and to their pups, they were great with communication and my dog was well taken care of and happy, so I’m happy! Thanks! ???”

About: I grew up with dogs and cats and currently have 2 dogs that I simply adore. I strive to give them the best quality life possible so that I can have them in my life for as long as possible. I promise a compassionate and patient service with excellent communication. I work from home and take lots of breaks and walks during the day to avoid sitting at the computer for too long. My house is at the end of a cul de sac and there is a large mowed field behind my house that my dogs frequent for potty breaks, ball tosses, and squirrel chasing. We go on at least 3 leashed walks a day averaging around 2-5 miles. My dogs hang out inside most of the day. Although I do have a large secure porch they go out on sometimes for sunbathing and tussling. I allow them on the couch which is basically just a big dog bed now. For clients homes, I follow instructions and communicate immediately if there are any issues or questions.

About: With over 10 years of hands-on experience caring for pets, I bring both heartfelt dedication and professional expertise to every furry friend I meet. My journey began with my first puppy, who I lovingly walked daily, bathed with care, and shared my home and heart with. This deep bond inspired me to pursue a degree in Animal Science at UC Davis, where I specialized in companion animals and gained comprehensive knowledge of pet health, behavior, and care. Throughout my undergraduate years, I volunteered and interned at numerous shelters and clinics, where I assisted with surgery prep and recovery, microchipping, post-op care, feeding, and cleaning. These experiences sharpened my ability to recognize early signs of illness and deliver calm, capable care—even in medical situations. At home, I care for two adopted cats who were originally rescued from a shelter. I’ve provided them with a safe, loving environment ever since they first arrived as house-sitting guests. Whether it’s walking dogs, managing senior or special-needs pets, or offering overnight stays, I treat every animal as if they were my own—with patience, attention, and genuine love. Pet care fits very easily into my daily routine since I currently only have a flexible part-time job. I usually work 2–3 shifts per week, each about 4 hours long, and the rest of the time I’m at home. This allows me to provide plenty of attention, companionship, and care for your pets throughout the day. I can easily accommodate daily walks, feedings, drop-ins, overnight stays, and last-minute bookings. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities—whether I’m doing drop-in visits, day care, or boarding in my home. I provide a clean, pet-friendly environment and always follow your pet’s routine to keep them happy and stress-free. With my animal science background and clinical experience, I’m confident in handling medications, special needs, and spotting early signs of illness. I treat every pet like family and always keep you updated with messages and photos.

About: I’ve spent my entire life surrounded by animals, from dogs, to cats, and even exotic parrots. I’m in my final year of medical school and have a lot more time on my hands. I’d love to get a pet of my own but my free time will be quite limited once I start residency next year, so taking care of yours is the next best thing! I work in an eye clinic 2x a week and am otherwise home ready to take care of your pets! I’m also very active and would love to take your pets out on long walks with me. I am incredibly organized and keep a very clean home. I will always have an eye on your pet while I’m home with them, and do not have any other pets at home.

About: Hi! My name is Merrily, and I am a student at UNC! I have been an animal lover my whole life, growing up with two dogs and a cat! My dogs were a sweet boxer and a lively pug, so I have experience with both big and small dogs! I especially loved to take my boxer on long walks and runs, and cuddled and played with my pug. From taking care of my dogs throughout teenage hood, I gained valuable experience with senior care, administering oral and topical medication daily, dental care, bathes, and basic grooming. I also have dog and cat sat for family friends and neighbors numerous times, with duties ranging from senior care with a lab dog, to taking care (and easing) an anxious corgi. My favorite aspect of pet-setting is of course snuggles! I want to provide affection and comfort just as pets provide me with affection and comfort! I also thoroughly enjoy playtime and walks!🩷🐾 I am a full-time college student at UNC with much free time over summer break! I live in the heart of Chapel Hill and have a car, allowing for flexible and punctual care. I make sure to not only keep up with pets but with the client's home too. When caring for your furry friend and home, fulfilling your needs is my main goal!
