About: I’ve always had dogs in my life! I adopted my first dog, Beth, in 2015 when she was just 14 weeks old, and I trained her myself. During the pandemic, I adopted my second dog, Buz, at 8 months old who had aggression and resource guarding issues. Because of them both, I am very watchful of dog behaviors and am not afraid of big barks! I know training basics and am comfortable with dogs of all ages and sizes! I am a teacher in SE DC, so during the school year, my availability is primarily evenings and weekends. During the summer, my availability is very open! I am very attentive and respectful of others homes, dogs, and instructions. Knowing that my own dogs take a minute to warm up to someone new, I will be sure to follow specific routines or guidance given! Your home will remain as it was when I enter!

Megan you did so well with Jesse in a short amount of time. I really appreciate how you just jumped in and started walking him right away without being scared of what he would do or how he would react to you.He really enjoys your daughters and the endless playtime they give him. Thanks so much!!!

About: My partner and I work together to provide reliable and attentive house sitting and pet care throughout the DMV area. I currently work part-time as a concierge, which has strengthened my professionalism, attention to detail, and respect for building security and residents’ privacy. My partner is studying online to become an electrician, which gives him a flexible schedule and a strong sense of responsibility and problem-solving. We also have a cat of our own, so we understand the importance of routine, litter care, enrichment, and recognizing subtle changes in behavior. Caring for animals in their home requires patience and attentiveness, and we take that seriously. Together, we have experience caring for dogs and cats of various sizes, ages, and temperaments. Working as a team allows us to provide consistent supervision, maintain routines, and ensure pets feel comfortable and secure while their owners are away. We are comfortable with: • Small to large dogs • Senior pets • Multiple-pet households • Following detailed feeding and care schedules We prioritize clear communication, cleanliness, and maintaining a calm, secure environment at all times. Our goal is to provide dependable care so you can travel with peace of mind. Pet care fits naturally into our routine. I work some night concierge shifts, which gives me flexibility during the day to maintain feeding schedules, walks, and check-ins. Spending time outdoors with pets is a great balance after overnight work, and I enjoy being active with them. My partner studies in the evenings, so we are both structured and routine-oriented. Having pets in our care fits well with our schedule, as we prioritize consistency, fresh air, and daily activity. Because of our schedule flexibility, we are able to accommodate morning, afternoon, and evening care while ensuring pets receive attentive and reliable supervision. About: I love all the dogs. I enjoy playing with them and taking walks. I love long hiking in the parks where me and dogs can be closer to nature. I have always met only great dogs. They all have different personalities and this is something that requires patience and understanding to allow the dog connect with me. However, as big or small the dog can be, it has no difference for me. In my life I had only one time dog biting me and it was when I was a child and was running through the neighbor's property and the dog did his duty and started running after me. He scratched my left leg with his teeth, but it was more of a gentle warning, than a bite. Dogs listen to me very well. Sometimes I get surprised myself how well they respond to me. This is something I would enjoy doing with all my heart Dogs are amazing creatures! Thank you, Oksana

About: As a lifelong animal lover with hands-on experience raising and training a Cocker Spaniel, a Pitbull Terrier, and a Rottweiler from puppyhood into their senior years, my goal is to provide patient and dependable care tailored to your pet's unique personality. Whether they need playtime, walks, cuddles, or just a calm place to stay, they will always feel safe, loved, and cozy while in my care. I currently work full-time in Alexandria, VA, but I work remotely on Mondays and Wednesdays. I do have open availability on weekends, and I am available to board throughout the weekend into Monday. My care is tailored to the individual needs of every animal. My apartment complex is incredibly pet-friendly with a large area right outside my unit for long walks and playtime. We also have a grooming station in case your fur baby needs a little TLC before going home. As an active young adult and someone familiar with the challenges of the puppy years - I am also available to walk dogs as frequently as needed. I also have no problem administering medication or patiently supporting elderly or special needs animals.

Cynthia was an amazing support for me! I had never left my two 1 year old cats alone before, and she made me feel so comfortable. Not only did she walk me through everything I needed to sort out before I left, she checked in throughout the week and sent lots of pictures of the boys doing their favorite activities. Will definitely use her again!

About: Hello! My name is Kayla I’ve been taking care of animals for over 6 years! I started pet sitting with my grandma at age 12 and started doing it on my own shortly after. I’ve worked at a shelter for over a year and now currently work as a vet assistant. I’m comfortable with all animals of any age or size! My number one priority is for you to feel at peace knowing your fur baby is in good hands:) At the moment my schedule is completely open. I can come anytime needed or do overnights. I will always make sure my calendar stays up to date! My main goal is to always prioritize the safety of the animal! I will usually ask for a time schedule/ and how you wish your dog to be cared for, whether it be walks only, only in the fence, etc.

About: Hi my name is Crystal and I am currently a college student majoring in Environmental Science! I have owned and fostered an array of animals including dogs, cats, reptiles, and turtles. I currently live with two cats, one of which has Feline Cerebellar Hypoplasia. I am looking forward to meeting and taking care of your animals :) I am currently in my last semester of college, so I have plenty of availability to care for your pets! I usually have class between 12 pm - 2 pm most days, and 7pm-9pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays. I have full availability Friday-Sunday! In a client’s home, I prioritize maintaining the pet’s normal routine as closely as possible. That includes consistent feeding times, fresh water, litter box cleaning or potty breaks, enrichment, and quality interaction — whether that’s active play, calm companionship, or structured walks. I pay close attention to behavior, appetite, and energy levels so I can quickly notice if something feels off.

About: I have been around a variety of animals my entire life! Currently we have a 2 year old Newfoundland. We love the big and fluffy dogs. Winston loves making new friends to play with. We have a large fenced in Yard (5 foot tall fence). I have raised huskies for 12 years, so I have experience with the energetic, hyper active dog breeds. I also have experience with many other animals as I have had them as pets previously (cats, lizards, ferrets, rats, hamsters, birds). I prefer to pet sit for only one family at a time. This is for your pets safety as well as my dogs. I was a vet tech for 12 years. I am comfortable giving medications (oral, injection, topical, eye drops). I have experience with young and older dogs. Typically first potty break is around 6am and bedtime around 9pm. During the day dogs can go outside every few hours as needed. I currently primarily telework 3 days a week, and go in person to the office 2 days a week. Dogs are welcome in the home office and will get let out throughout the day. When I have to go in person, dogs are kenneled. My in person days are typically 9 hour days. Dogs are fed twice a day and sepetate from one another. Food bowls are not left out during the day. There is always access to fresh water. Dogs sleep in the bedroom with us at night. The back yard is fully fenced in (15 steps down). I also have a ti-out in the front yard for senior dogs who are not good with stairs. The kitchen and living room area are baby gated off. Gates are only shut when needed. Otherwise dogs have full access to 1st and 2nd floor. Winston is very friendly and loves them company of other dogs (playing or lounging togeher).

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Camp Springs. On Rover:

  • 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
