“Mikela was very personable and very communicative when we did our virtual meet and greet. Our kitty is very old and needed some extra care and she was very understanding and helpful about it. We were away with no service except for emergencies/ rare service spots so when we were able to check in she was very fast with responding and giving us updates. We super appreciated her and her attention to detail and how well our little old lady was cared for. We would absolutely book her again. Thank you Mikela!”

“It is such a peace of mind when Hannah is watching my kitties when I am away. My super shy, anxious kitty loves her, and my attention demanding kitty gets the play time he needs. Thank you!”

“Thanks so much Yerlis. Very professional. Dogs took to her immediately. Timely and accommodating. First time on the app and a great impression so far. Will see you soon.”

“First time puppy owner and Rover user and I highly recommend Melissa. I unexpectedly had to work out of my DC office which means we had to travel to town and I had to leave my 14wk puppy crated for much of the day for the first time. He's not fully vaccinated yet so he can't even go for a walk and I needed someone for multiple times a day. Also, he's a handful. I was SO worried! Melissa was AWESOME and from the meet and greet just put my mind at ease. She kept me updated with photos that let me relax and focus on my job knowing he was in good hands. I saw he went to the bathroom, ate and drank and got out his puppy zippies - a productive half hour I aspire to! She even got him to #2 on the puppy pad, which is still a challenge for him! Next time I'm in need of a walker or a sitter in DC, she's at the top of my list. Thanks again, Melissa!”

“Shelby always takes such great care of Tulip when we’re away. We haven’t found a sitter we can rely on like Shelby in such a long time! We always know that when we book with her Tulip is in great hands. I’d highly recommend to anyone looking for someone responsive and reliable. The pics and videos are always a nice touch!”

“We just got our puppy and had to leave for a wedding so we decided to book with Rover. Savannah was great with our puppy and made sure he received love throughout the day!”

“Bria gave our senior dog Chesley her subcutaneous fluids while we were out of town so that we didn't have to worry about having an inexperienced sitter try to handle medical matters. Really appreciate her expertise and training.”

“Dani is the best cat sitter and we totally recommend her! She pays attention to detail and instructions, you can tell she really enjoys to spend time with your fur babies🐾😊”

“Cynthia was an amazing support for me! I had never left my two 1 year old cats alone before, and she made me feel so comfortable. Not only did she walk me through everything I needed to sort out before I left, she checked in throughout the week and sent lots of pictures of the boys doing their favorite activities. Will definitely use her again!”

“Bella was fantastic! We contacted her last minute because we needed help with giving medication to one of our kitties. She was able to come same day. We did a video call and I walked her through everything. We definitely will be using her again and if we loved the photos she sent of the kitties. It was clear that she loves animals.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Temple Hills
Mickela was great with my cats, and we have a lot of cats. She was able to make each of my cats feel safe and cared for while I was gone on a very long work trip. Normally I come home to a house with some kitty messes due to stress and this time I came home to a clean and happy house where I could just hop right back into our normal routine. I have already booked Mickela for my next work trip and she will 100% be my regular sitter. I highly recommend!. She was able to give my cats their medicine, handle a pretty hectic feeding time, and keep everyone happy and stress free. If you want someone to love your cat like their own Mickela is your person!
Cassandra is an absolutely fantastic sitter. She is proactive, detail oriented, and reliable. We were gone for a week and have two very spoiled cats. I left a long list of things I wanted her to do for us, including giving one of our cats his inhaler every day, and mixing in supplements into food, along with lots of preferences to keep their routine as normal as possible. Cassandra not only followed everything we requested, but went above and beyond. She gave us detailed reports about how the cats were doing and photos every day for us. We do not leave our cats alone often and I was so happy to have someone that I knew was exceedingly capable of caring for them. We had a few issues with another sitter that was also booked for another time of day while we were away on the same trip, and I think I would've lost my mind if Cassandra wasn't around. She gave me peace of mind that she was handling any potential problems, even if she wasn't the one that caused them. Thank you again for all of your efforts and keeping Spooky and Jinx happy and healthy while we were away!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Temple Hills. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
