“Autumn was amazing! Our dog gets separation anxiety and Autumn was able to win her over by playing with her and giving belly rubs and treats. We felt really comfortable going away knowing she was in good hands. We would definitely recommend.”

“I highly recommend her! She took wonderful care of my dog and treated him like her own. She made sure he was well-fed, gave him plenty of love and attention, and took him on regular walks. It gave me great peace of mind knowing he was in such caring and responsible hands. I would definitely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy pet sitter.”

“Savannah was great! It was our first time using her, but she communicated well and did a great job taking care of our dog! She made sure he got walks, play time, and took his meds.”

About: I'm currently working as a canine coach and know all about taking care of dogs and bathing them, cutting nails, etc.I also know the signs of seizures and how to time them and what to do in situations like that. I'm currently a canine coach and my days off are Tuesday all day, Thursdays all day and Saturday afternoons. Sometimes I'm available friday mornings if needed. I live in an apartment and have a small yorkie but my apartment complex has a dog park thats perfect for all breeds. If it's at the clients home I'll make sure doors are closed so they'll be safe and won't escape. On walks i'll make sure they are safe on their daily walks and have them prepare for any type of weather if they need their raincoats or snow boots or their heat protecting shoes and attire, etc.

“Although I’ve known about the app for 1 year, this was my first time using it. Melissa worked out really well for me. She was timely, very communicative and intuitive. My boys loved her! I will definitely use the app again and definitely request Melissa!”

“Mikeala took great care of my cats! She made sure they were eating, scooped their litter box, and went out of her way to clean up their little messes. I’d be happy to use her again! Thanks Mikeala!”

“Kristal was great with my two kitties. She did drop in visits while I was on a multi-day vacation. I got updates and pictures everyday and she even cleaned up kitty cat puke (from one of my babies who has a sensitive tummy). Would absolutely book again!”

“Iveth took fabulous care of our babies! Her calm and friendly demeanor even warmed up our aloof girl who could not resist saying hello and getting some affection. Communication was great and she was very accomidating when our return flight was delayed. Would absolutely recommend!”

“I reached out to Quiana in the late evening on Su day night hoping to arrange care for my pup on Tuesday morning. Quiana responded promptly, and though I had a morning full of meetings, and I was scheduled to travel on Monday afternoon, Quiana suggested and made herself available for a meet and greet early Monday morning. Aksel loved her immediately, showed his ball off to her and even tried sharing it with her (unheard of with strangers). Aksel has separation anxiety and usually has a pretty hard time when I travel. After seeing Quiana for 2 mornings in a row (meet & greet included), Aksel woke up on fhe 3rd day anticipating her arrival. He pickup up his stuffy and stood at the door waiting. Needless to say, seeing that instantly made my heart smile. He has a long top knot and shook out his ponytail, she took time to find something to his hair back before leaving When it's wet outside, she attempts to at least dry his feet, even though he's more interested in playing tug of war with the towel. She's my favourite person of the month and is definitely going to be a part of Aksel's village moving forward.”

About: I have helped my mom care for our house animals (dogs, cats, etc.), but I stepped in and took responsibility when we adopted our boy Kato. He is a six 1/2-year-old Staffordshire Pittie with all the skin problems bully breeds come with. I have aided in feeding, walking, and giving him his medicine at appropriate times. I am employed part-time, so I have plenty of time to walk and play with your furry babies. I also have my means of transportation, so getting to them will be no problem. I do not intend to use my home to watch your dogs because my pitty was not properly socialized as a puppy; however, I can adapt to any of your pet's routines or needs in your home.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Oxon Hill-Glassmanor
Cassandra is an absolutely fantastic sitter. She is proactive, detail oriented, and reliable. We were gone for a week and have two very spoiled cats. I left a long list of things I wanted her to do for us, including giving one of our cats his inhaler every day, and mixing in supplements into food, along with lots of preferences to keep their routine as normal as possible. Cassandra not only followed everything we requested, but went above and beyond. She gave us detailed reports about how the cats were doing and photos every day for us. We do not leave our cats alone often and I was so happy to have someone that I knew was exceedingly capable of caring for them. We had a few issues with another sitter that was also booked for another time of day while we were away on the same trip, and I think I would've lost my mind if Cassandra wasn't around. She gave me peace of mind that she was handling any potential problems, even if she wasn't the one that caused them. Thank you again for all of your efforts and keeping Spooky and Jinx happy and healthy while we were away!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Oxon Hill-Glassmanor. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
