“This was the first time leaving Jubie with a live in sitter. Alissa was very accommodating to my spoiled Velcro dog lol. She sent daily updates and pictures which were appreciated. Jubie looks forward to seeing her again. Thanks again Alissa”

“I've never left my dogs with a non family member and had such a positive experience with Walter. My dogs were very receptive and calm with him. He was very understanding when we were unexpectedly a bit behind.”

“Ash is fantastic! She sent lots of updates, let me know when she arrived and left, and sent photos throughout her time taking care of Ziggy. I felt like I could relax while away, and will definitely have Ash watch Ziggy again :)”

“Kathryn was fantastic, she agreed to watch our pup last minute so me and my husband could go out. She sent us lots of updates and photos and was great and easy to communicate with. She took great care of Aspen and our home and we would 100% book with her again.”

“Carrie is a lovely person. She’s extremely reliable - was very prompt, followed our instructions exactly, and even played with our cats 😊 She went beyond her duties to check on our backyard as well. We returned to a clean house, with the cats fed and happy. We were able to stay an extra day because we felt comfortable leaving our babies with Carrie for longer!”
About: I grew up on a big hobby farm with lots of dogs, cats, hamsters, fish, and bunnies, which is to say, I've loved animals for my whole life! I've been described as a bit of a "dog whisperer" and although I love ALL animals, I have a soft spot for older dogs, rescue pups, mutts, and beagles. I recently lost my 13-year-old rescue dog who was my best friend. I have a lot of love to give and love going for doggy walks, exploring new neighborhoods, and of course giving lots of cuddles!! I will protect your dog like they are mine, keep them safe, and give them lots of love and attention. As someone who has had different people take care of my pets over the years, I will update you throughout the day and send lots of photos! I'm here to care for your pet and also keep your mind free from worry. I work from home and love it! My home is quiet and super peaceful. I am very active and take lots of breaks throughout the day to go for walks and little mini adventures. I am always around so they will be in good hands. I also love to go hiking and to the beach, if that's something your dog would like! Depending on what your dog needs, I'll be able to provide stimulating activate like forest walks or dog park visits, or lots of naps, cuddles, and rest. I have a decent sized, safe, fenced yard with kind neighbors who love animals. I also have a large front porch with a gate, which is great for morning snuggles. I have lots of comfy bedding for your dog and a cozy home that animals tend to feel calm in. Depending on you & your dogs needs/preferences, I will provide extra treats and toys. My home is especially good for any dogs who are anxious and need some quiet/solo time throughout the day when I'm in another room. I will listen to your dogs cues and boundaries.
“Shacelle was very nice and kept us constantly updated regarding our dog and cats. She stayed in the apartment overnight, looking after our dog and two cats. She was very pleasant to talk to, and everyone seemed very happy when we returned. Overall, I would recommend Shacelle as a great pet sitter, and we will be returning to her to take care of our fur babies.”

About: I grew up with pets. Buster was our Boston Terrier, Sasha was our Schnauzer and Muffin was our little Toy Poodle. I absolutely love all dogs but prefer to care for smaller breeds. My husband and I have had several cats over our 36 years together. I am comfortable giving oral medications, to willing pets. I am recently retired so have some free time to give care and cuddles. I would be available to come for visits through day, after 10 am. I am flexible though, so alternate times could be discussed if need be. Pets need activity and love and I would give your's both, be it playing in the yard, short walks or just some cuddles. I would ensure that food is provided in the proper amount, as directed by you, fresh water available, and any accidents/messes cleaned up.
About: Since I was a little girl I knew I wanted to be a vet. Helping animals has always been a calling of mine. I am an avid animal lover. I look very forward to taking care of and spending time with your furry friends. Feel free to contact me to talk more and set up times! I’m available for both long and short term care. I just recently lost my beloved 19 year old pug terrier so now I have an empty nest. My other dogs are family dogs and live with my mom, so your animals will be the only ones in the home and have my undivided attention. I have senior stairs available as well to help get on to the couch/bed.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - London
Aida was great with our toy maltipoo puppy, this was our first experience with a dogsitter and Aida check marked all the things we were hoping for. She showed up on time, showed genuine interest in knowing our puppy's feeding schedule and understanding the layout of the apartment to know where she needs to go for relieving herself. Aida was easy to communicate with during the booking process, and sent us regular updates during the sitting period. We would definitely be looking out for her availability when we need to plan another dogsitting date.

Caitlin is a dream come true when it comes to pet care. Given her in depth experience from working at the Humane Society I knew my new puppy and cat would be well taken care of. She goes above and beyond to make sure they were happy and well taken care of. Right from the start they bonded with Caitlin and I could relax knowing they were safe, secure and happy. I highly recommend Caitlin for any of your pet sitting needs!

Cannot sing enough praises about Kayla. She truly went above and beyond - while away this week, our Maeve needed our vet’s intervention. Kayla worked with a close friend of ours to get our pup to the vet, get the prescribed medications, and followed through with administering them in a timely manner. She went the extra mile, and more, for us. We are most appreciative … and happy to come home to a healing pup and happy feline. Thank you, Kayla, for all you do!

Kathryn was fantastic, she agreed to watch our pup last minute so me and my husband could go out. She sent us lots of updates and photos and was great and easy to communicate with. She took great care of Aspen and our home and we would 100% book with her again.

Krysta was absolutely amazing! She took such great care of Dog Chloe and our two cats, and I felt completely at ease the entire time. She also gave Chloe her medication twice a day without any issues, which meant so much to us. The updates and photos were so appreciated, and it’s clear she genuinely cares. We came home to very happy, relaxed pets—which is everything. We will absolutely be booking with her again!

We had a great experience with Lisa while we were away. I felt completely at ease knowing our dog, Maverick, was in such good hands. She didn’t just meet expectations — she went above and beyond, feeding our cat as well, etc She kept us updated regularly with messages and photos, which meant so much and really helped us relax while we were gone. It was clear our dog was not only well cared for, but genuinely happy, comfortable, and loved. She paid attention to all the little details, stuck to his routine, and treated our home with total respect. Coming back to a calm, happy dog made it obvious how well he had been looked after! We also came home to a clean house, Lisa even put our garbage bins out for us, and even left us some yummy chocolate cake :) Lisa was trustworthy, caring and reliable! We would absolutely book with her again.

Samantha took great care of our girls and our home. Regular pictures and updates while we were away showed very happy pups, and we would not hesitate to book with Samantha again. Our dogs are big and can be intimidating to some with their barking and senior/medical needs, but Samantha met them with confidence. Her love for animals is evident - thanks again Samantha!

Gabrielle was so great! The dogs loved her immediately and that made me feel very happy. All my dogs and cats felt comfortable with her and even dozed off while she was hanging out with them at our home. I felt at ease knowing that all my babies were getting well taken care of . Thank you so much Gabrielle!! I would highly recommend her not only for your fur babies but in your home!

FAQs for House Sitting - London
Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in London on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 329 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across London. Enter your postal code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in London maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred London walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in London choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
