About: Hi! Please note that I will be moving to Sudbury at the end of August to start grad school. I am currently accepting bookings for the summer, but unfortunately cannot accept anything from September onwards :) I’m a fourth year Nutrition student at Western. I’m also a mature student (24 years old). I’ve been caring for animals for as long as I can remember! My family travels a lot, and we have always opted to pet-sit rather than stay in hotels! Now that my sister and I have moved away for university, we both pet-sit independently in our university communities. In terms of my own pets, I’ve had fish, a guinea pig, and a flock of chickens! Since we travel so much we’ve never had our own dog or cat, but we are the go-to pet sitters for our friends and family! Please note that I keep my rates low because I do work full-time. If your pet requires constant care or needs someone to be at home all day, I am probably not the best fit for you. About: I've been an animal lover and advocate my whole life, growing up in a house full of pets-dogs, cats, hamsters, fish, turtles, and any other animals I could surround myself with! I worked in a pet store while in school and had the opportunity to learn about all kinds of animals, and meet and play with the animals that customers regularly brought in. Friends, family, and colleagues have consistently relied on me to look after their dogs and cats, particularly after becoming the resident dog-cat-plant-housesitter of my graduate school department over 10 years ago. I work full time and am primarily available for evening and weekend care, though I can be flexible with early mornings and special requests! I work fairly regularly 8am-4pm, Monday-Friday, though my schedule can be flexible, so I'll update my availability accordingly. I'm generally in the neighbourhood over the weekend and would love to walk or spend time playing with or taking care of your furbaby anytime Saturday-Sunday! About: I have extensive experience in pet care and welfare. I work at an animal clinic, which also runs an urgent care, in which we work with cats and dogs of many different health statuses. I keep myself level-headed in situations, good or bad and guarantee to provide the most attentive and supportive care for your babies. I use my knowledge from my job and my experience from pet sitting for friends and family to be able to provide the best care I can. I work full time at the animal clinic, 9am-5pm. I usually take time to care for pets (walk, feed, administer medication, etc.) before I leave for work and make sure to do the same as soon as I get home from work. If the situation permits, I am able to take pets to work with me and take them out for a walk at lunch time and/or throughout the day. I make sure to prioritize and manage my daily plans around pet care. To ensure safety and proper care, I make sure to book a meet and greet with owners (free of charge) to ensure I can be shown the step-by-step routine of pet care. I write down my own to-do lists in order to keep track of my essential tasks. If I feel as though I would not be a good fit or my environment will not suffice for a safe space for the pet, I will discerne whether to go forward with the pet care or not.
About: Having begun walking neighborhood dogs as a teenager, I have plenty of experience. I am an avid researcher into positive training methods, and have wanted to work with dogs since I was a child. I currently work only a few hours a week in Retail, and volunteer at the humane society. I have taken and received certification for fear free handling of pets in the shelter environment- a transferable skill for kennelling In my off time, I’m working with my own dog, who I have trained from puppyhood. That said, I am capable of recognizing signs of illness or distress quickly and am able to act immediately should something arise, as well as capable and confident administering medication orally and subsubcutaneously.
