“Alice needed a male figure since she had one growing up and no longer does. When I come home, Alice is much more calm than she has been in a long time. So glad Walter was able to give her the exercise and play time she needs :) Thank you!”

“Jayden went above and beyond with our pup. She was reliable, consistent, and spent time working with him on his leash skills. Whenever any issues came up while we were away, she handled them thoughtfully and found effective solutions. It was a huge bonus that she has experience with dog training and was knowledgeable about my dog’s breed. I felt completely confident leaving our pup in her care, and I will absolutely be hiring Jayden again. Highly recommend!”

“Stefanie took great care of my dog while I was away for a whole week. She was very detailed with her updates and sent lots of pictures! It genuinely felt like they enjoyed each other company. I greatly appreciate that.”

“Maddy was such a great Dog Walker, our boy Dex loved going for walks with her, and Maddy even stayed and played with him in the backyard to get him some more exercise. Would absolutely recommend!”

About: I have lived with a dog my whole life! For as long as I can remember my family, friends, and people in my community have asked me to take care of their pets and I am always happy to do so, whether they need me just to walk or feed their pet because they are running late or for a longer period of time. I am good with dogs of any age! I am currently a full time student in college, my weekends are always free. I am currently doing a work placement in Stratford and I am usually gone from 6:30 AM till about 3:30/4:00 PM during the week. When it comes to caring for a pet, I will do the obvious things like ensuring they are kept out of danger and safe, never outside without a leash unless of course in their own fenced in yard. Of course if the pet owner would like additional and specific precautions taken they can always inform me and I will follow it
About: I have been a huge dog lover since I was young! I have a passion for working with animals and have experience with handling and training leash aggressive, reactive dogs! I have cared for a variety of breeds and sizes and am comfortable with all! Pet care is an important part of my daily and weekly routine. Although my partner and I live in Thamesford, Ontario, I frequently travel to Toronto to babysit our family dog. This often involves planning my week around these visits to ensure I can spend quality time with our family pet. In Thamesford, I also enjoy babysitting and walking other local dogs in my free time. This helps me stay active and engaged with the community. My days often consist of working from home and being able to walk and check in on dogs throughout the day to make sure they are comfortable and happy! Balancing pet care with my other responsibilities and remote work requires good time management, but it's a rewarding part of my life that I truly cherish. If I was going to a clients home I would treat it as I treat my own home, with respect and cleanliness. In my own home my dog was the king of the house lol and I treat him as such. Any pets I encounter and look after will be treated with the utmost respect and care because I love animals and love being around them! I would definitely consider myself an animal whisperer. :)

I have experience with many dog breeds small to large, cats, small-animals and reptiles. I work part-time, I have a very open schedule for walks, drop ins, hangouts, and home pet sitting for how ever many days may be needed in your home! I have a fenced in yard that is easily accessible even for a older dog that may have mobility issues, I am familiar with every dog park in the city, or I can take them on a hike through one of our many parks and trails. Keeping it laid back is also perfect, a roam around the neighborhood where you're located is a great option also!

About: I’ve raised Bigo, my pet dog, since he was a was a puppy. Working with him alongside trainers has helped me better understand dog behaviour and body language, specifically working dogs. I train him on my own now and since have been developing my skills reading his body language and responding accordingly, de-escalating overwhelming situations, de-sensitizing him to triggering stimuli such as fast cars and rodents, and building both of our confidence. That being said, I know that each dog requires their own individualized care just as Bigo does which takes understanding, patience, and energy all of which I’ll happily expend in order to meet a given pet’s need. I currently work part time but my hours is flexible. I’m entering my 4th year of university so my schedule has lightened up enough for me to partake in Dog sitting I care for Bigo in sections of the day: morning, noon and evening. He’ll roam unleashed in my fenced backyard, I’ll take him on a walk or have a training session, I may play with him and then feed him at each interval. Outside of this time, my family cares and looks after him. He’s usually following my mom around in the kitchen or my dad in the garage or napping in the living room. My brothers play with him whether it’s tug of war, fetch or hide and seek.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Dorchester choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find walkers who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
