I would treat anyone's pets with the same respect and care as they would, as I truly understand the importance of a pet to one's family and self.

Jayden went above and beyond with our pup. She was reliable, consistent, and spent time working with him on his leash skills. Whenever any issues came up while we were away, she handled them thoughtfully and found effective solutions. It was a huge bonus that she has experience with dog training and was knowledgeable about my dog’s breed. I felt completely confident leaving our pup in her care, and I will absolutely be hiring Jayden again. Highly recommend!

About: I’ve been working with animals for as long as I can remember. I have two years of professional animal care experience, along with a lifetime of personal experience with a wide variety of animals — including guinea pigs, fish, horses, goats, cats, chickens, and more! I’m also experienced in caring for animals with special needs and administering medications. Patience, understanding, and compassion are at the heart of how I approach every animal — I always strive to meet your pet exactly where they’re at. I can’t wait to meet your furbaby! I am not working at the moment so I have plenty of time to focus on your pet's needs! They will be the main part of my routine. Safety will be my biggest priority when working with your pet. I will make sure they are supervised at all times outside. They will always be leashed during walks and, I will make sure the equipment you've requested to be used is secure and put on correctly.

About: With over 3 years of hands-on pet care experience, I’ve had the pleasure of working with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. I specialize in creating a calm, safe, and structured environment tailored to each dog’s unique needs. Whether it’s high-energy pups who need plenty of play and stimulation, or senior dogs who require a gentler, more attentive approach, I’m confident in providing the right level of care. What sets me apart is my attention to detail, strong communication with pet parents, and my ability to quickly build trust with animals. I’m experienced in administering medications, maintaining feeding routines, and offering basic training reinforcement. I treat every dog like my own and pride myself on being reliable, respectful, and fully present during every visit or stay. Let’s make your pet’s time away from you feel just like home—safe, happy, and well-cared for! I work from home and my wife is sometimes working from home. So we can take care of the pups together during the week and weekends we both are home and take out dogs for play and activities. I have a fenced yard and my dog loves playing in there. Lots of space to play around. I take them for walks every 2 to 4 hours to get their business done.

About: I love dogs and going on long walks; it’s the best of both worlds! I have worked with dogs of various ages, energy levels, and behaviour. Whether your dog likes to run, play, and walk for hours, or just likes to chill with a pal, I got it! I have worked with puppies and older dogs, reactive dogs when other dogs are near, feeding dogs medication, beep collars, crate-trained dogs, etc. I’d love to meet your fur-friends, learn more about them, and will happily accompany them on walks and play time! I am currently working part-time, more so in the evenings, so I have plenty of time from early mornings til 2-4 that I can walk your pups and provide pet care. As it is only part-time, I am still able to work evenings sometimes! I am in school from Sept.-April, therefore I have plenty of time for long walks and pet care now and am available to be your daily morning dog-walker! I do not offer pet care in my home, although am able to provide pet care in a clients home! All of my pet care experience has been in other people’s homes, whether it was dropping in for a potty break, quick walk, or a long walk, even last minute! I have also provided pet care staying overnight in a client’s home for a minimum of 1 night-2.5 weeks. I may not be able to get time off of my part-time job when staying in a client’s home so I hope it is okay if I am gone for 4-8 hours in the evening for a couple of the evenings, if it falls on the days I am scheduled. I have always made sure to time out feeding and walks according to my work schedule when needed.

Although Nicole and I were not able to complete our days of dog walks, I enjoyed meeting her so much and the one walk my dog had was very successful. We have just been through the worst heat wave I ever remember in Southwestern Ontario, so it was just too hot for my dog and for Nicole to be walking. But we stayed in touch each day and made our decisions together about the extreme weather. I'm only sorry that we did not get to know each other better. I would never hesitate to contact her another time.

About: Hi, My name is Lisa! :) Animals have always had such a special spot in my heart. Their innocence, loyalty and friendship is truly such a gift to us as humans. Being raised with multiple Golden Retrievers since I was 11 years old has taught me a lot about doggies. I have been around the puppy stage many times and I know that not only are they adorable but they do require babysitting and lots of attention. My own dogs, as well as others, have become seniors and I am aware of how delicate that season of their life is too. I am extra attentive to animals needs and am often the one in a group that over makes sure the dog has enough water, that they are up to date on eating and that their needs have been met. Snuggle time is also a bonus :) I can assure you that you won't need to worry at all if your fur-family member is being cared for when you are away! I have a family Golden Retriever. Although I am back and forth from my parents place, seeing him, spending time with him and being there for him is a pleasure! I am more than willing to come and stay at my clients homes while they are away to fursit! Whether its walks, runs, or special care that is needed for their loved one, I would love to be able to provide that for them.

About: I specialize in caring for high-energy dogs who need more than just a walk. As the owner of a young, energetic American Labrador, Reni, I understand how important exercise, patience, enrichment, and mental stimulation are for dogs with lots of energy. Reni has taught me how to channel that energy in positive ways through training, enrichment activities, scent work, and engaging play. I’ve loved dogs my entire life and grew up with family dogs and other animals. I also have experience caring for neighbours’ pets and have developed hands-on experience with positive reinforcement and managing some dog reactivity through my own dog. I’m patient, reliable, and passionate about helping high-energy dogs feel happy, fulfilled, and well cared for. I work an 8am-4pm schedule from home, allowing for some flexibility during the day and I can largely accomodate walks before and after work and on weekends. I strive to make your time away as stress free as possible for your pet. By following their regular routine and giving them plenty of attention, affection and excercise.

About: Growing up we had various pets to take care of and learn responsibility for so my love of animals started young. I have over the years done drop in visits, overnight stays at your home as well as having your pet at my own place. Each pet is unique and their care should reflect that. I have cared for senior animals with various medication requirement as well as puppies just finding their bearings. I appreciate the simplicity of going for a walk and believe that having a dog alongside yo u enhances the experience. I currently work shift work with 5 days off at a time so my schedule fluctuates, but allows for an ample amount of free time to be adjusted for your needs. Prior to care, I would discuss with you the pet's schedule and routine as well as their needs to ensure they get the proper care. This would also include any additional information about your pet for situational circumstances and their personality. While your animal is in my care I do provide updates to give peace of mind.

About: Hi, i’m Rayne and am looking to start dog walking again I am excited to meet some new furry faces! i’ve been a lover of all animals since before I can even remember! I have a huge passion for working with all kinds of animals. Up to now I have taken care of every kind of breed of dog I can think of. I myself have cane corsos of my own, as well as the best cat i could have asked for. I love being around animals of all kinds! I have open availability and am able to watch/walk your animals at anytime, with great and negotiable rates. If you have any questions or concern please don’t hesitate to reach out! Thanks for taking some time to get to know me :) I currently am unemployed at the moment so I am able to walk or watch your dog whenever is needed, I have a very open availability! I like to take the dogs for long walks or like to go to fields nearby so they can run off leash for a little bit and go wild (if owners permit me doing so), or also throw balls and other canine friendly toys. For pet sitting cats, i’ve never met a cat that didn’t make me their new best friend sooner or later. Feeding and additional care is never an issue but of course feel free for any specific requests on feeding and caring for your pets!

Julie is such a lifesaver! We have a toddler and don’t always find the time for our poor sweet girl to get a good exercise session in, but 9 times out of 10 we can count on Julie to come take her out for a spontaneous walk or play at the park. We always trust that Autumn is in good hands with Julie and she comes home happy and tired!

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in St. Thomas choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 89% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
