“As my first Rover experience, Tabitha surpassed every expectation and made the whole experience feel like Tazzy was visiting family. With my permission, Tazzy had another puppy play date in Tabitha's home, and as a result came back to us exhausted and very happy. As a nervous puppy Mom, her messages and photos were so calming. Huge thank you to Tabitha for this wonderful experience. I recommend Tabitha 100%.”

Franklin enjoyed his stay, and can't wait to go back and play with Bailey!”

About: Hi there! I'm Emma. Past Husky owner, current poodle parent, and lover of all animals. My partner Dean and I are both fun, loving and energetic people. We loved to go for our 4 daily walks every day with our pup Isla, and we would love to have that opportunity again with your dog. Dean and I are both very well experienced with animals, both having owned multiple dogs and other animals from a young age and all throughout our lives. We fall in love with every pup we meet! Our home will be the perfect place for your pup to stay. If you have any questions/requests I'd be glad to help you out. I hope to hear from you soon!! I currently work from home part time. Your pup would be in my presence for the entirety of their stay! :) Ruby and Honey, our toy-poodles, would also love to keep your pup company. We currently live in a 4 bedroom 3-storey home, we walk the dogs in the neighbourhood and throughout Orchard Park. 3-4 daily walks are normal for us!

About: Caring for dogs is more than a task—it’s a joy, a responsibility, and a love I carry in my heart every day. I understand that dogs are not just pets—they are family, companions, and a source of unconditional love. Leaving them behind can be hard, and that’s why I dedicate myself to making every dog feel safe, cherished, and truly at home. In our home, your dog will never feel alone. With me and my two boys, Evan and Aram, your dog will be welcomed with warmth, gentle attention, and endless love. My boys adore animals, and together we create a home full of laughter, play, and tender care where every dog feels seen, valued, and comforted. I have experience caring for dogs of all ages and needs: • 🐶 Puppies – guiding them gently, building trust, helping with routines, and celebrating every small milestone • 🐕 Adult dogs – keeping walks, meals, and playtime consistent, while giving them attention, companionship, and mental stimulation • 🐾 Senior dogs – providing slow, loving care, cozy rest, and gentle support to make every moment comfortable and reassuring What truly sets me apart is the heart and family environment I offer. Your dog will not simply be watched—they will be included in our lives, treated like a beloved member of the family. I focus on: • Listening to their needs, understanding their moods, and giving love in exactly the way they need it • Following their daily routines to provide consistency and comfort • Creating a calm, safe space where they can be happy, relaxed, and loved • Offering endless cuddles, play, and bonding moments Our home is designed for your dog’s happiness and safety: • A large, fully fenced backyard where they can run, explore, and play freely • Indoor comfort where dogs are always welcome on furniture and beds, giving them warmth and closeness • A loving, family environment filled with patience, attention, and understanding I know leaving your dog in someone else’s care is a leap of trust. That’s why I promise to care for them as if they were my own—giving them love, safety, and comfort in every single moment. Because to me, this isn’t just dog sitting… it’s creating a second home where tails wag, hearts feel safe, and your dog knows they are deeply loved. ❤️ ✨ Where every bark is cherished, every cuddle is returned, and every dog feels like family. ✨ Pets thrive on love, attention, and consistency—and that’s exactly what I provide every day. In our home, caring for your furry family members is seamlessly woven into our daily routine, so they always feel safe, happy, and loved. A typical day with your pet includes: • Morning cuddles & care: Greeting pets with love, feeding, and letting them stretch and play after waking • Playtime & exercise: Dogs enjoy walks in the yard or around the neighborhood, while cats get cozy play sessions or window-watching time • Quiet & rest periods: Calm, peaceful time for napping, grooming, or simply feeling safe and comfortable • Attention & bonding: Evan and Aram love spending time with pets, giving gentle hugs, brushing fur, or playing interactive games • Meals & health check: Following your pet’s feeding schedule, keeping litter boxes fresh, and checking for any signs of discomfort or illness • Evening relaxation: Cozy snuggles, calm interaction, and pets are always welcome on furniture or beds for comfort and security I adjust our routine to fit your pet’s specific needs, so they feel at home whether they’re active, playful, or need extra calm time. Consistency, patience, and gentle attention are at the heart of every day. Because to me, pet care isn’t just something I do—it’s part of our family life, and your pet becomes part of it too. ❤️ The safety and comfort of your pets is my top priority. I understand that leaving your furry family members behind can be stressful, so I create an environment where they feel safe, loved, and completely at home—whether in my home or theirs. In our home, pets enjoy: • A large, fully fenced backyard where dogs can run, play, and explore safely • Plenty of indoor space to relax and feel secure • Freedom to be themselves—cats and dogs are welcome on furniture and beds, just like they are at home • Gentle supervision and attention from me and my boys, Evan and Aram, who adore animals and help create a warm, caring environment I also focus on trust and routine: • Following your pet’s schedule for feeding, walks, naps, and playtime • Keeping their environment calm and stress-free • Monitoring health and well-being closely, and reporting any concerns promptly • Using positive reinforcement, patience, and gentle guidance with all pets When caring for pets in your home, I treat it as respectfully as my own. I ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable space while maintaining routines and leaving your home exactly as I found it. For me, pet care isn’t just a task—it’s about creating a place where your pet feels safe, loved, and happy, so you can have peace of mind knowing they’re in caring hands. ❤️
About: Animals have always been a big part of my life, and caring for them brings me so much joy. I’ve worked with dogs of all ages, from playful puppies to senior dogs who need a little extra TLC. I believe every dog has their own personality and needs, and I love getting to know each one individually. My home is a calm and pet-friendly space, and I treat every dog that visits like family. I also understand how hard it can be to leave your pet in someone else’s care, which is why I make communication a top priority. I’m always happy to send photos and updates so you can feel at ease while you’re away. “I'm so happy I reached out to Sandra for daycare for my 9 month old herding pup, Buddy. She responded right away and asked all the right questions. I could tell right away she was a pro at reading dogs' body language and at kindly managing the behavioral issues we've been struggling with. She offered great advice and worked with him throughout his entire stay. He even trained at her side as she worked at the market which was an invaluable experience, especially for a nervous pup at his age. You can be confident leaving your pet with Sandra knowing they are in the best hands. I look forward to them spending more time together again soon.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - St. Thomas
Matthew took excellent care of my dog, Gunnie. He really went above and beyond to make him feel comfortable when he was a bit nervous. He can tell he's very good with animals and he quickly won my puppy over. With Bailey's help Gunnie was frolicking and playing in no time. My dog has been a bit anxious and has refused to go to doggie daycare recently. I was worried that he would be too anxious to stay with anyone, but Mathew handled him so well and made me feel comfortable too. I highly recommend Mathew and will certainly be booking with him again.

With my permission, Tazzy had another puppy play date in Tabitha's home, and as a result came back to us exhausted and very happy. As a nervous puppy Mom, her messages and photos were so calming. Huge thank you to Tabitha for this wonderful experience. I recommend Tabitha 100%.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your St. Thomas commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in ON ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
