“After losing our older dog earlier this year, our younger dog had been fairly depressed, so we'd avoided going away to ensure he was ok. A death in the family meant we would have to travel for a day, and Laura made all of us (including Rufus) feel at ease. Our meet & greet was full of playful excitement (from Rufus) and professional "get to know you and the animals" engagement from Laura. On the day, we left some extra instructions for Laura, and felt very comfortable about Rufus being taken care of by a compassionate and capable animal lover like us. The photos we got were hilarious and reassuring that Rufus had been in excellent hands. Would absolutely recommend Laura, and will be booking with her again in the future.”

About: Hi there, My name is Alexis, and I am an Elementary School Teacher, looking for a side gig to make some extra money working with animals! For my entire life, I have had personal experience caring for and walking dogs as I have always had at least one or two of my own at home. I have had 10 years of experience dog walking, and pet sitting here and there for friends, family and neighbours. I currently have a border collie x Labrador retriever mix, and I have had many others dogs including smaller dogs in the past. I love dogs of any breed and size and am able to work with more than one at a time for those with more than one dog in the family. I have had experience training my own dogs throughout my life for puppy age, as well as have worked with senior dogs as well. I love dogs and pets of any kind, and hopefully, look forward to meeting your furry friends. Connect with me if you are interested or have any questions, text, call or email me. I will get back to you as soon as I can. I am currently working full time as a teacher from 9-3:30 Monday - Friday. So I am available in the early morning or early and later evening. I am also available on the weekends and holidays. For dog boarding, I can take dogs for longer stays, they would sometimes just have longer days at home without a human. 8 hours max. I have a fenced in yard and a lovey border collie at home to keep your furry friend company. I can offer crating, treats and adventures when your dog stays with me. Your dog would get walks depending on their physical needs and a solid routine with consistent feeding times and exercise.

I'd be following any given instructions for the dogs home and would keep them in the routine. Comfortable happyband loved. Your dog would also have a playmate with mine if friendly for park dates so they wouldn't be inside all day long.

I am currently working afternoons but at home in the morning and night. I am also available most weekends 24 hours a day to provide loving care. I have a large house in a quiet neighbourhood. The property has a big fenced in yard where your fur baby is safe and can freely roam.
About: Growing up we had various pets to take care of and learn responsibility for so my love of animals started young. I have over the years done drop in visits, overnight stays at your home as well as having your pet at my own place. Each pet is unique and their care should reflect that. I have cared for senior animals with various medication requirement as well as puppies just finding their bearings. I appreciate the simplicity of going for a walk and believe that having a dog alongside yo u enhances the experience. I currently work shift work with 5 days off at a time so my schedule fluctuates, but allows for an ample amount of free time to be adjusted for your needs. Prior to care, I would discuss with you the pet's schedule and routine as well as their needs to ensure they get the proper care. This would also include any additional information about your pet for situational circumstances and their personality. While your animal is in my care I do provide updates to give peace of mind.
“Michele did a great job watching our dog! Shes very responsible and had 2 meet ups before making a decision that her and Tex was a fit. While we were gone, she stayed in contact and sent pictures and updated. Tex adores her and he is comfortable when she's in our home. Michele makes sure everything is cleaned up and is resourceful when shes not familiar with where items are. Michele is very trustworthy & caring, we highly recommend. We can tell that Tex has been well cared for and has been thoroughly spoilt by you. Thank you Michele”

I have a huge passion for working with all kinds of animals. Up to now I have taken care of every kind of breed of dog I can think of. I have open availability and am able to watch/walk your animals at anytime, with great and negotiable rates. If you have any questions or concern please don’t hesitate to reach out! Thanks for taking some time to get to know me :) I currently am unemployed at the moment so I am able to walk or watch your dog whenever is needed, I have a very open availability! I like to take the dogs for long walks or like to go to fields nearby so they can run off leash for a little bit and go wild (if owners permit me doing so), or also throw balls and other canine friendly toys. For pet sitting cats, i’ve never met a cat that didn’t make me their new best friend sooner or later. Feeding and additional care is never an issue but of course feel free for any specific requests on feeding and caring for your pets!
About: I have owned animals since I was a kid. I just recently had my dog pass away and I am very keen on looking after your fur baby like they were my own! My passion is to work with animals. I currently live in an apartment so I’m looking for dog walks or dog sits but once I have a house I will be open to boarding!! As long as your dog gets along with other animals I will be able to allow them in my home ☺️ I do live in an apartment but constantly go outside as I have a dog of my own. I also go on trail walks around the area and can take them to the dog park if allowed.
About: I’m currently studying animal science and have hands-on experience caring for my own dog. I also volunteer as a veterinary assistant in clinics, where I’ve gained skills in animal handling, health monitoring, and basic care. Additionally, I spent time in Costa Rica working with animals, which helped me build confidence with different breeds and temperaments. I’m attentive, patient, and committed to keeping pets safe, happy, and well cared for. Pet care fits easily into my daily routine since I’m a student with a flexible schedule. I plan my days around classes, which allows me to dedicate consistent time for walks, feeding, playtime, and check-ins. I’m available mornings, evenings, and most weekends, and I always make sure pets get reliable attention and care. I prioritize safety, comfort, and routine when caring for pets in any home. I follow all instructions carefully, keep spaces clean and secure, and pay close attention to behavior and health. With my experience as a veterinary assistant, I’m confident handling pets calmly and recognizing any concerns early. I always aim to create a stress-free, loving environment.
About: I have grown up with cats and dogs, always taking responsibility for their care and needs. My cat, Jiggyman (I know weird) is 16 years old and has been the best cat I could ask for. I love my pets and I miss being around animals, I am happiest when I see a pet! I am currently working virtually, so I am available all day for pet boarding. I can also take breaks from work to walk pets, and I am free after 4pm most days to walk dogs. My schedule does not change and I am free on weekends. I am home all day to care for and hangout with your pet. I love talking to them and taking them for walks, making sure they are very happy. I am also happiest around animals and I can't wait to get one of my own! For now, I think caring for other pets is exactly what I need.
About: I’ve been around animals my whole life, and caring for them has always felt natural to me. I previously worked at PetSmart, where I gained hands-on experience with a wide range of pets, including dogs of all sizes, temperaments, and needs. That role taught me the importance of routine, safety, positive reinforcement, and paying attention to the small details that keep pets healthy and happy. By profession, I’m currently a teacher, which means patience, responsibility, clear communication, and reliability are at the core of what I do every day. I’m used to being trusted with what matters most to people, and I bring that same level of care and accountability to looking after pets. Until recently, I was the proud owner of a Siberian Husky who lived an incredible life right up to the age of 13. Caring for him through all stages of life — from high-energy younger years to senior care — gave me deep experience with exercise needs, mental stimulation, grooming, and adapting routines as pets age. He was truly family, and his long, happy life means the world to me. I work as a teacher therefore have a set schedule, get home at a reasonable time, and can easily predict when I am available for your pets! I live in a house, drive, and am flexible with how I can support your pets while you are away. I am willing to work with you to make sure your pets are as comfortable as possible.

Carley is amazing! She is very reliable and always responsive in a timely manner. She sends multiple pictures of both of our dogs, provides bathroom/drink/snack updates, follows directions given (i.e. separating the dogs to their places when leaving, etc.) and lets us know what activities her and the dogs get up to while she's at our place. I will absolutely continue to reach out to her for check ins with our boys, as she has proven herself to be a great choice for us. Thank you Carley :)

Raquelle was amazing with my two girls! It's the first time I've gone away that my dogs have been relaxed and not stressed when I came home. Raquelle put my mind at ease with her reports and pictures so I was able to enjoy my time away and not worry about my pups and it was clear they loved their time with her! I would highly recommend Raquelle for all your pup sitting needs!

You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:
- Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
- House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
- Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.
Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in St. Thomas choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
