“Jenna was absolutely wonderful and exceeded our expectations in every way. She communicated clearly and consistently, sending thoughtful updates and photos that gave us real peace of mind while we were away. She took great care of our home, keeping everything tidy and secure, and went above and beyond with our dogs. Norman can be a big scaredy-cat and is usually quite shy at first, but Jenna was incredibly patient and took her time with him. By the end of our trip, they had become great friends, which really says a lot. It’s clear that Jenna has a genuine understanding of animals and meets them exactly where they’re at, which made such a difference. As first-time Rover users, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Jenna made us feel completely comfortable and confident, and we would absolutely book her again without hesitation.”

“Alissa was lovely to work with, even adding another day to the booking when some unforeseen circumstances arose. She was great with our cat, even despite his rather spicy personality. I have no complaints whatsoever! Thank you Alissa!”

“Stefanie came to take care of Phoebe for the third time. On this last visit, between Christmas and New Year, she stayed for five consecutive days. She followed all feeding instructions, since Phoebe is an elderly cat and has difficulty chewing. She took good care of her and gave her affection. She sent us photos and kept us informed about eating, drinking, and using the litter box. We felt calm and satisfied during the whole period. We recommend Ste with confidence.”

“Shacelle took wonderful care of Kai and Emmy, was very sweet and accommodating, and gave the best updates. She took some of the best photos of the ladies I’ve ever seen, haha. Highly recommend her for your next sit :)”

“Heather was wonderful with our cat children, exceptional in all ways. Loved the photos, loved her flexibility and the time and care given to oyr pets. So very highly reccommended. I can't wait to have her back visiting our kitties soon.”

“Brittany was so easy to work with and very trustworthy. She was available last minute and even help when someone was unavailable last minute. She went above and beyond to support. We loved having her support our family”

“Joanna did an amazing job taking care of our cat while we were away for a week. We were a little concerned as this is the longest kitty’s been away from us. However, Joanna put our minds at ease with timely updates and pictures, and it was clear that kitty was happy and well-cared for. Highly recommend Joanna for anyone needing a reliable and caring pet sitter!”

“Laura took great care of our fur babies! She gave us peace of mind that our cats were being well taken care of while we were away. We already booked with her again for future visits! Thank you Laura!”

About: In my family, we've always had pets. My last pet was a German Shepherd, who died of an illness. In my home country, I helped my neighbors take care of or walk their pets when they didn't have time or were traveling. With my family's pets, I usually cared for them after school or when they wanted to go out of town, so I was in charge of them while my family was away. I can administer oral or topical medication, but I don't give injections. If the pets have a special diet, I can prepare it and serve it to them. My experience ranges from small to large breeds. As such, I don't know how to train pets, but I have taught the pets I care for a few tricks. I can work part-time, although right now on vacation I can work much longer, It all depends on the availability you want and what things I have scheduled. Being in the client's home makes me feel safer for pets, so they'll be comfortable. Depending on the pet's personality, I know they'll have to get used to my presence, so there will initially be a familiarization process. I always ask my clients for a list of things the pet can and can't eat, and if they have food or insect allergies. Emergency contacts and veterinarian numbers. If you need help giving oral or topical medications, I can do that as long as they're not injections. From my own experience, I know that pets are more than that. I know they're family and very precious, so I care for my clients as if they were my own.

About: Hi! I’ve been a professional dog trainer for the past two years specializing in puppy socialization and service dog training. I’ve moved up to Canada for school so I’m looking for something I can do between classes. I had a senior dog who I cared for throughout the end of his life so I’m comfortable with dogs who use diapers and am strict about taking medications on time. I’d love to talk and find out if I would be a good fit! Currently I am a dog trainer and student so I have some time between classes and clients. I’d love to have a reason to take my free time to go on a walk or hike rather than scroll on my phone. If I’m watching animals I will gladly have time to stop in and play with them or if they just want to cuddle I’ll happily grab my homework and cuddle them while reading. For taking care of dogs in a clients home unless the yard is fully fenced and secured taking the dog out on a leash and their regular walking gear for any outside time. I don’t believe in letting dogs greet on leash so while out on walks I will avoid other dogs but will gladly let people say hi (as long as that’s cleared by the owner). I also need to know if any allergies or weight concerns as I carry treats while outside of the house to help manage any behaviour with positive reinforcement.
“Ash did a drop in visit with my dog, Ziggy, when we were gone for the day. From the beginning, Ash was so approachable, had so many questions about caring for my Ziggy, and was super adaptable to his needs. Ziggy warmed up to her immediately! It helped that Ash brought treats for him. We will definitely book Ash again for drop in’s, walks, and overnight stays again.”

“Kylie dropped in over the weekend to check on our cat Norm. They made quick friends with him and we could tell from the check-in photos he was happy they stopped by. Saved us the cost of boarding, and we felt very comfortable letting Kylie throughout the service”

“Jiale is a sweet and caring companion for pups. My dog instantly was comfortable with her and climbed right into her lap. He had so much fun with her and I felt very relaxed as an anxious dog mum that he was in good hands.”

“This was our second time booking with Lidiya, and we were just as happy as the first time. She is caring, reliable, and keeps us well updated. Knowing our cat is in such good hands gives us great peace of mind. Highly recommended!”

About: Having begun walking neighborhood dogs as a teenager, I have plenty of experience. I am an avid researcher into positive training methods, and have wanted to work with dogs since I was a child. I currently work only a few hours a week in Retail, and volunteer at the humane society. I have taken and received certification for fear free handling of pets in the shelter environment- a transferable skill for kennelling In my off time, I’m working with my own dog, who I have trained from puppyhood. I had my own reactive rescue lab from (his)ages 5-14, and raised two puppies since. The youngest is a 3yr gsd mix. My dog experience is focused mostly around large dogs and puppies. Up to 89lbs As to cats, I have raised two kittens. One lived to 9 before the cancer. One is still growing strong. Matt is my senior boy, whom I have had for 12 years now.

Sneha took wonderful care of my cat, Nila! She was very gentle, patient, and attentive, and made sure Nila was comfortable throughout the visit. She followed all instructions carefully and spent quality time with her, which I really appreciated. I also loved the updates, it gave me peace of mind knowing Nila was in such good hands. You can truly tell Sneha loves animals and treats them like her own. I would definitely recommend her and will be booking again!
We couldn’t be happier with the care Avery provided for our cat over the Christmas holidays. She did an excellent job and our cat loved her! Everything was perfect, and we felt completely at ease while we were away. We will definitely be booking with Avery again - highly recommend!

Ashley was amazing! We were very nervous about having to leave our car for two weeks while we went on vacation as our cat can be quite shy but Ashley worked her magic and our cat was looked after with great care! We received detailed updates and Ashley sent us lots of photos that put us at ease knowing our cat was being so well looked after! Couldn’t recommend Ashley enough!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
