About: I’m currently studying animal science and have hands-on experience caring for my own dog. I also volunteer as a veterinary assistant in clinics, where I’ve gained skills in animal handling, health monitoring, and basic care. Additionally, I spent time in Costa Rica working with animals, which helped me build confidence with different breeds and temperaments. I’m attentive, patient, and committed to keeping pets safe, happy, and well cared for. Pet care fits easily into my daily routine since I’m a student with a flexible schedule. I plan my days around classes, which allows me to dedicate consistent time for walks, feeding, playtime, and check-ins. I’m available mornings, evenings, and most weekends, and I always make sure pets get reliable attention and care. I prioritize safety, comfort, and routine when caring for pets in any home. I follow all instructions carefully, keep spaces clean and secure, and pay close attention to behavior and health. With my experience as a veterinary assistant, I’m confident handling pets calmly and recognizing any concerns early. I always aim to create a stress-free, loving environment.

“We had an excellent experience with Emily house sitting and watching our two dogs. She was extremely attentive to the girls and quick to respond. She kept me well updated with how the dogs were doing, including lots of pictures. We plan to have her back to stay with our girls ! We would definitely recommend hiring her.”

“Victoria was excellent with my pups and great to keep me updated throughout the weekend with pictures and what they were up to. Very sweet girl and will definitely use again in the future :)”
“Truly amazing to enjoy a night away knowing my cats were in good hands. Lauren sent updates on the boys (my cats) and pictures. I love that I didn't even have to ask for this because as a fellow cat mom she knew I would appreciate this added touch. We will definitely have Lauren back and look forward to another trip away with peace of mind. Thanks Lauren!!”

About: I have lived with a dog my whole life! For as long as I can remember my family, friends, and people in my community have asked me to take care of their pets and I am always happy to do so, whether they need me just to walk or feed their pet because they are running late or for a longer period of time. I am good with dogs of any age! I am currently a full time student in college, my weekends are always free. I do have class from 9:30-3:30 but I do have two 30 minute breaks throughout the day when I would be able to run back to the house and let the dog out When it comes to caring for a pet, I will do the obvious things like ensuring they are kept out of danger and safe, never outside without a leash unless of course in their own fenced in yard. Of course if the pet owner would like additional and specific precautions taken they can always inform me and I will follow it
“Lisa is absolutely amazing! She took such great care of my pup Henry and treated him like her own. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing he was in loving and capable hands. Highly recommend her to anyone who wants the best for their fur babies!”

“We recently had Lisa come stay with our two dogs while we were away. She is excellent!! The boys were very happy and well looked after. Lisa sent us pictures and a video, which really helped us not to miss them so much. She left our home looking lovely too! Thanks so much, Lisa. We will book you again!”

About: For the past 6 years, I’ve raised a Labrador retriever since he was a puppy, cared for dogs as if they were my own. I truly believe pets are family, and they deserve to feel safe, loved, and understood — especially when their owners are away. I have experience with energetic puppies who need patience and gentle training guidance, as well as senior dogs who require a slower pace, extra comfort, and attentive care. I take time to learn each dog’s personality, routines, and little quirks so they feel secure and happy in my care. My goal is simple: allow dogs to sniff & have fun during walks, tire them for good sleep & keep the tails wagging. Pet care is a natural part of my daily routine. I structure my schedule to ensure dogs receive consistent attention, regular walks, playtime, and quiet rest periods. I enjoy starting and ending my day with walks and check-ins, so your dog gets steady care rather than rushed visits. Because I plan my week around the pets I’m caring for, I’m able to maintain their routines as closely as possible — feeding times, exercise, medication (if needed), and lots of affection. Caring for dogs isn’t something I “fit in” — it’s something I genuinely prioritize and enjoy. I have a fenced backyard & a very friendly Labrador Retriever dog ready to play & we provide a safe, calm, and structured environment in my home where dogs feel comfortable and cared for. I follow each dog’s regular routine as closely as possible — including feeding schedules, walk times, play sessions, and rest periods — so they feel secure and settled. For boarding and daycare, I make sure dogs get a healthy balance of exercise, mental stimulation, and quiet time. I’m attentive to their body language and personality, whether they’re energetic and playful or need a slower, gentler pace. During walks, I focus on safety, leash manners, and giving them a positive, enjoyable experience. Most importantly, I treat every dog like family and provide regular updates and photos so you always feel connected and at ease.
About: ⸻ Hi there! I’m Jenn — a huge animal lover with over 25 years of experience caring for pets. I share my home with two Samoyed boys, Gomez and Tundra. Tundra is actually a Canadian Champion and also a Therapy Dog with St. John Ambulance. I’d absolutely love to welcome your pets into our lives! I’m home most of the time and pretty flexible with my schedule, so your fur babies will get tons of attention, love, and playtime. My big fenced backyard gives them plenty of room to run and explore, and I love going out to play with them too! I’ve raised a litter of six Samoyed puppies with my daughter, so I’m very comfortable with dogs of all ages and personalities. I’ll make sure your pets are fed just the way you request, and I’ll send photo and video updates so you can see how much fun they’re having while you’re away. Your pets will be treated like family here — safe, happy, and loved. I can’t wait to meet them and become part of their story! 🐾 Everything in my day kind of revolves around my pets. From morning snuggles to evening walks, they’re part of the rhythm of my life. It’s not a chore — it’s something I love doing. “I care for every pet as if they were part of my family. Whether they’re staying in my home or I’m visiting theirs, I keep their routine consistent, give them plenty of attention, and make sure they feel safe, loved, and happy while their owners are away.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Aylmer maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Aylmer walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Aylmer choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
