“So grateful to Gail for providing such loving and attentive care to our dogs (who can be fairly exuberant ?), our garden/plants, and our home. Regular updates and photos …… and she’s a better photographer than I am ?! It’s a relief to know that Gail is there should we need another pet/house sitter!”

“We are so appreciative to Katherine for helping us out when we both had to be out of town for work last minute. I returned to two tired and happy puppies. We’d be happy to have her sit for our dogs again anytime!”

“Kailey did a great job watching our kitten while we were away. She left the house in mint condition and our kitty was clearly well taken care of. We will definitely be booking Kailey again in the future!”

“Amanda was a lifesaver! She rearranged her schedule to accommodate us, and although one of our dogs was experiencing an unexpected health issue, Amanda handled it professionally and kept us updated. She was excellent with our small dogs. She even followed up afterwards to see how our sick dog was recovering. I'd definitely hire Amanda again.”

“From the very beginning, Angela was very prepared when she arrived at our home for the interview and meet and greet. She had her list of questions. Through her stay watching my cat and dog Angela sent me updates several times a day with photos and videos. She also watered my plants on my patio and took very good care of my cat and dog. I would definitely recommend her to anybody who’s looking for a pet sitter. I will definitely book her again.”

“Darcia is absolutely fabulous! She was very flexible and I felt completely happy knowing our pup was well cared for. My house was spotless when I arrived home and my dog was tired and content. She sent lots of pictures and was extremely reliable. I highly recommend her!!”

“Trinity was wonderful to have looking after our cats! She made the effort for an initial visit to meet them which made us very comfortable. We received pictures of them out and about, which was so nice to see! She messaged with any questions and kept us up to date on their eating as they require a little more attention than most. Can’t wait to hire her again!”

“Erik was absolutely great with our puppy! He updated us throughout the day with videos and pictures and it was clear how much he enjoyed spending the day with her. He took her on lots and lots of walks, which was so appreciated! Highly highly recommend”

“We are so pleased we booked Carla for Gracie’s care. Carla displayed confidence and as a result, Gracie responded positively to her. I was very happy that Carla kept us well informed on a daily basis of how things were going, as well sent us numerous photos. We have already booked her for our next trip!”

About: Animals have always been a big part of my life. I have 20 years of dog ownership, 8 years with cats, and experience caring for a horse. Professionally, I’ve worked in a doggy daycare for 2 years and as a dog groomer for 1 year, plus 3 years running my own dog-sitting side hustle. I’m confident with dogs of all breeds and personalities and genuinely love what I do. I’m currently building my portfolio as a Newly licensed Residential Property Manager. I make my own schedule and I either work from home or easily on the go, so I figured why not do a bit more of what I really love the most. I currently offer in-home check ins, sitting and walking. As an experienced Pet-Sitter, and a professional property manager, I have a unique understanding of trust and care when it comes to your home and your pet!
“Richard was an absolutely incredible host. I was gone for one night and he took such good care of my cat while I was away. Something he did that I really appreciated was he sent me lots of photos and videos of him taking care of my cat. I could tell he really cared about her and spent time playing with her and grooming her. When I'm away I want to make sure my cat is taken care of and that everything went right with the keys. He was very attentive and replied to all my messages while I was away. He was also very flexible and even when my flight got delayed he was able to stay with my cat for longer than I initially asked him to. My cat was well fed and well taken care of and I would absolutely book Richard again.”

“Lorina was a huge help for me! I had reached out on Christmas Eve to be a house-sitter as the one I had bailed on me last minute. Lorina came over Xmas day when she had time and also stayed the night and spent all the next day at my house with my 13 year old cat. She made all the worry go away and I’m so thankful she was able to help me with such short notice!”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs since I was about 10 years old and have always had dogs in my family. I’m comfortable with feeding, walking, playtime, and giving them plenty of attention and affection. I love getting dogs out for walks, but I’m just as happy spending time with the little cuddle buddies who prefer relaxing on the couch. I understand that every dog has their own personality and routine, and I’ll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while in my care. Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I already enjoy making time for walks, outdoor activities, and relaxing at home with a furry cuddle buddy. I can plan morning and evening walks, feeding, playtime, and check-ins around my work schedule, with additional flexibility on weekends. I’m organized and will always make sure your pet receives consistent care, attention, and companionship. Your pet’s safety and comfort will always be my priority. I’ll carefully follow their usual routine, feeding instructions, walking preferences, and any special care needs. I’ll keep doors and gates secure, use a leash during walks, and make sure their environment is clean and free from anything unsafe. I’ll also give them plenty of attention, respect their boundaries, and send regular updates so you can feel confident that your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for.
“We are so happy with Shana! Our dogs and cat are so happy and content when we come home after a weekend away. Shana leaves our home very clean and just as the way we left it. We will definitely have her stay with us again!”

“Tera stayed with our babies for 7 days. This is the first time we’ve used Rover. We were able to really enjoy our holiday knowing that they were in great hands. Got so many updates from Tera. She even went out of her way to look out for our granddogs on the same property. They had a different sitter. She was very caring when there issues at their house she stepped up and helped. Thank you so much”

“As a first time user of Rover, I was quite nervous leaving our two small dogs. Kirstin was great with them and even came back immediately to assist further when the airline left us stranded over night and out of province. Kirstin relieved a large amount of stress during an already stressful time. The dogs were healthy and happy and the house was left clean! I was also very thankful for the regular pictures showing them in their regular routine. We are very thankful to connect with Kirstin!”

“Eva was amazing. I wish I could leave more than 5 stars. She took such great care of my cat and also went above and beyond to take care of my home while I was gone. That was such a treat to come home to after an exhausting trip. She listened well to all my instructions and took great care to make sure everything was taken care of. Will definitely be using her services again.”

About: I am a university student at UBCO living at home with my family and 2 dogs. This gives me the unique flexibility to stay overnight and care for pets on short notice. I have had dogs my whole life, and currently have a senior rescue, and a puppy at home. This gives me the experience I need to care for all kinds of dogs, well trained, not yet trained, puppies, seniors, rescues, purebreds etc. I have been dog and cat sitting for family friends several times a year for over 3 years since high school. I am a very responsible person, extremely reliable, and communicate well. I love the outdoors and going for walks, as well as lazy days at home. I have a very flexible school and work schedule. I am a student at UBCO and have several 3-4 hour gaps in my day which I can come home and spend time with the pets. I am done my classes around dinner time, and can come straight home for the evening. On the weekends, I am a server at a restaurant in town and generally only work 4-6 hour shifts. This means I am around for the majority of the day. I have been dog walking for many years as I have had dogs my whole life. With clients, I try and keep the pet’s routine as similar as possible to their owner’s. I like to be around as much as possible and keep the pets as comfortable as they can be while their owner is away.
The median cost per night for house sitting in Kelowna is $55
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Kelowna
I had a great experience with Melissa looking after my dogs! She was so accommodating when my travel plans changed at the last minute. I can tell my dogs really loved her and she even won over my extremely timid dog who doesn't warm up to many people. She also left my home clean and tidy. I really appreciated how caring, reliable, and respectful she was. I would definitely recommend her and would happily have her look after my dogs again!

Kate was absolutely wonderful with our spunky chocolate lab Becky while we were away! We felt completely comfortable knowing Becky and our home were in such good hands. Kate was reliable, communicative, and clearly took great care of Becky as we came home to a happy, relaxed dog and a spotless house. It was a relief to be able to enjoy our trip without worrying about anything at home. We would absolutely have Kate stay with Becky again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wonderful Pet Sitter — Highly Recommend Klaya! Klaya did an amazing job looking after our cats, Sheena and Scout, in our home for six days while we were away. We could tell they had been very well cared for because when we arrived home, they were both so content, relaxed and happy — which gave us great peace of mind! We really appreciated the regular updates and photos Klaya sent while we were away. It was reassuring to see that Sheena and Scout were comfortable and in such good hands. She also took great care of our home, and everything was just as we had left it. Thank you, Klaya, for being so reliable, caring and attentive. Knowing our cats and our home were being well looked after allowed us to truly enjoy our time away without worrying. We would absolutely recommend Klaya to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter, and we would happily have her look after Sheena and Scout again! 🐾❤️

Amanda was a lifesaver! She rearranged her schedule to accommodate us, and although one of our dogs was experiencing an unexpected health issue, Amanda handled it professionally and kept us updated. She was excellent with our small dogs. She even followed up afterwards to see how our sick dog was recovering. I'd definitely hire Amanda again.

Ashley was fantastic! She was right on time (early actually) and sent us multiple updates throughout the day. We have never used a pet sitter before and were very reluctant because our little guy is pretty particular. She went above and beyond for him today and even asked us to leave a detailed note so she wouldn’t miss anything! Will definitely be asking Ashley to come back again and strongly encourage anyone who may be weary about Rover to give her a shot!

We had such a great experience with Felicia! Polly is fear reactive and has a lot of specific needs, so we were a little nervous leaving her, but Felicia was calm, patient, and caring from the start. Polly warmed up to her right away and so we instantly felt great about leaving Polly with her. She sent daily updates and photos, took amazing care of Polly, and also left our house in great shape. We felt completely at ease knowing Polly was in such good hands. We would highly recommend her and would happily book with her again!

We are so pleased we booked Carla for Gracie’s care. Carla displayed confidence and as a result, Gracie responded positively to her. I was very happy that Carla kept us well informed on a daily basis of how things were going, as well sent us numerous photos. We have already booked her for our next trip!

Rachael was wonderful, housesitting for our two senior cats. I don’t really like to take them out of their home environment anymore and Rachael was a perfect fit - from the moment she met each of them, they felt comfortable with her… even our shy guy, Thomas, who usually spends the first 24-48 hrs hiding from anyone who he considers a stranger! We’d love to have Rachael housesit for us - and the boys - again.

Rhiannon took wonderful care of our two pups in our home while we were away for an extended weekend. Both dogs warmed up to her instantly upon meeting her, and we very much enjoyed the daily photos of them having fun together. We came home to happy, healthy dogs and our home in great condition. We would be happy to have Rhiannon stay with our beloved pups again in the future!

We booked Jocelynn last minute as our typical sitter was away. She was amazing with our girls, followed all instructions, sent lots of photos and videos for us to see, and went above and beyond our expectations. Will definitely book again when we need a sitter!

Shana did a wonderful job of looking after our 3+ animals and our home while we were away! I was anxious having a stranger in our home and looking after our fur babies but I would not hesitate to hire Shana again. Our animals were healthy and happy when we returned. Our home was immaculate and even all the plants were alive. We have two cats and a dog and a few hens. Each with special feeding requirements. Shana did everything that was asked of her and was respectful of our home and our privacy.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Kelowna on Rover is $51.06 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Kelowna maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Kelowna walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Kelowna choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
