About: I am a calm and quiet person, and I believe pets appreciate me because I understand the importance of giving them the time and space they need to adjust when I am in their space. I grew up with many dogs and loved taking care of them, but I have always had a soft spot for cats. I would pet sit for my friends with cats while they were on longer trips. I have taken care of small-medium sized dogs. I've also worked at a cat cafe, caring for as many as 20 cats at one time. Some of my responsibilities included cleaning, feeding, playing, and observing the cats to ensure they were living their best lives at the cafe before finding their forever homes. Currently, I own a 2-year-old large breed cat whom I adore. He understands basic commands like sit, up, jump, give paw, spin, roll over, kiss, hug etc. Let me know what your pet's usual routine looks like and what you're looking for and we can go from there! For house sitting: I will typically make 2 visits during the day. In the evening I will stay overnight. Safety and comfort are my top priority, and that starts with understanding your pet’s unique personality. If you have any notes or a care guide on their routine, please share them with me. I have a particular cat myself, so I’m very experienced with 'fussy' pets. I know that following their exact preferences isn't just about comfort—it’s about making sure they feel secure while you're away.
“Anna is awesome! Great communication and updates! It's easy to see she is a knowledgeable pet lover! Our dog Tux is already looking forward to his next visit! Thank you, Anna!”

“Laura is professional and reliable. She’s very great with my 6 month old puppy and is a great communicator. I hesitate writing a great review as I don’t want everyone scooping her up from me 😅”

“Kayla takes excellent care of my two senior pups with big personalities. She understands both of their needs and is helping to train my one pup with her onleash skills.”

“Kate was great with my little dog and two cats. She came for a visit, took the dog for a small walk and gained his trust. That says a lot. She got him to walk further every time. She’s a lovely creative person. I highly recommend her and will be booking her again soon.”

“Ashley was fantastic!! Took my Doggo on a great walk to the play park so she could run around with some other dogs, when I just didn’t have the time. My dog instantly really liked Ashley, which made the whole process super easy.”

About: I would absolutely love to take your fur baby for a walk. I’m confident and patient with training, and very comfortable with senior dogs. I lost my miniature pincher a couple of years ago. I have lots of love to give and am an avid hiker 🙋🏽♀️ Small dogs (or puppies) work better for me as I have a tiny car and I’m not super strong with large dogs pulling. As a small business owner for over a decade, I understand the importance of reliability, communication, and attention to detail. I’ll treat your home and pets with the same care and respect I’d want for my own! I live in a pet friendly building so if they get hot or tired, they can chill with me at home between pickup/drop off . I have lots of blankets!!
“Patricia has been walking Dolly twice a week and is a dream! She is incredibly responsible and conscientious, and sends so many pictures of my girl! I know that Dolly is in wonderfully safe and loving hands with Patricia and her family.”
About: Other than owning dogs since early childhood I have worked as a kennel attendant, taking care of 200 dogs and worked as a dog sledding guide looking after 50 Alaskan huskies. I have my own dog currently, a year old Australian shepherd, so am no stranger to high energy breeds. I am new to Kelowna and work part time with looking to fill the gaps with as many dog/ cat friends as possible. I have my own dog who requires frequent walks and would be open to having her join on dog walks/ play dates if the owner is interested. I love personal time with dogs and love providing enrichment and mentally stimulating play with breed specifics in mind. I’ve raised 4 puppies myself so have a very keen eye on keeping them out of trouble.
About: I have a large mix breed rescue pup who we have developed lots of skills and knowledge from through his care and training. He is now 1.5 years old and I would love to apply these skills to caring for your pets whilst you’re away! I know how important and sometimes difficult it is to find the right person to look after your dog or cat in your absence. There is also the potential for finding a dog friend for our own pup so that we could have a mutual pet sitting relationship ☺️ Growing up, we had a family cat who was a member of the family and lived until 20 years old. As an adult, I have looked after and cared for many of my housemates pets including their cats and several dogs. I love animals and I’m very grateful for the opportunity to spend time with your beloved pets while you’re away. I work full-time but I would be able to check on and care for your pets before 8am and after 4pm. I am also available for the whole weekend and summer break July and August. Currently, I would like to pet sit in your house whilst our puppy is still in training. We may eventually be able to board in our home also.
“Michaela has been talking for Laika for walks a few times each week since heading back to work and we are so thankful! She is very patient and attentive give to Laika’s need, as she tends to be a bit shy. Thank you Michaela!”

About: Calm handling for shy or high-energy dogs! 🐾 I've taken care of dogs on and off since I was just a kid. I am fear-free certified, and hold a certificate for dog CPR/ first aid. I worked with Rain City dogs in Vancouver and provided professional dog walking and house sitting. I have volunteered with the SPCA and Paws it Forward. Give my pup a break and let me annoy yours with love instead:) I work in the film industry and often have some time in between projects and love to take care of animals in my free time. I have a yard at home that is fenced. If your place has no fence, i’ll either keep them on leash or watch very very carefully.
About: I have 6 years of pet sitting experience with many different animals such as cats, dogs and other small pets. I am reliable and affordable and will provide the best care for your pets! I take care of pets daily as I have my own dog whom I love so much. I will also occasionally pet sit for family and friends. I have made sure my house is a very pet friendly space provided with lots of entertainment, water and food bowls around the house. No dangerous or small items are scattered around my place.
About: I have always had a cat in my life and I have also volunteered over 200 hours caring for cats at the SPCA. I experienced a wide variety of cats, including many shy and anxious ones. While I have the most experience with cats, I would love to take your well-behaved dog for a walk or run. I am currently a student taking online courses, so I have complete flexibility for drop-in visits and walks throughout the week. I plan my schoolwork around visits so I can meet your pet’s needs and stay consistent with their routine. I’m a calm and patient person, and I always let your cat or dog approach me on their own terms. I never force interaction—I give them the space they need to feel safe and comfortable around me.
About: I have years of experience caring for animals of all shapes and sizes—from tiny Chihuahuas to giant Great Danes. I’ve raised kittens from birth, cared for reptiles, and looked after farm animals like rabbits and chickens. What truly sets me apart is my ability to understand each animal’s unique needs and make them feel safe, comfortable, and loved in their environment. Whether it’s a high-energy pup, a shy senior dog, or a curious kitten, I tailor my care to keep them happy and healthy. Your pet’s well-being is my top priority, and I treat every animal like they’re part of my own family. Pet care is a natural part of my daily life—I have two dogs of my own and love spending time with animals. I work five days a week, but my shifts are typically 5–6 hours, which gives me plenty of flexibility. I’m available for morning or evening visits depending on my schedule, and I can always stop by before and after work. Caring for pets isn’t just something I do—it’s part of my everyday routine, and I truly enjoy it! My top priority is making sure your pet feels happy, safe, and comfortable—whether they’re in my home or I’m visiting yours. I understand that every animal has their own unique needs and routines. Whether your dog needs a long, energetic walk or just a quick 5-minute potty break, I always follow their lead and adjust my care to what works best for them. I take the time to get to know each pet and make sure they feel at ease while you’re away.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Kelowna
Laura was great! She fit us in last minute after we realized we would need walking on a busy weekend. Our dog was apparently a great walker (she never is for me 😆) and our cat who is usually pretty shy at first didn’t hide when she came to meet the two of them. We will absolutely use her services again!

Emily was so awesome with our pup! She walked him and kept him company while we were out of town, and went totally above and beyond. She is a great communicator and gave us lots of updates. He’s a big boy with a somewhat quirky disposition but she totally understood him.

Aurielee was fantastic!! She hit it off right away with Angus on the meet and greet. Then sent me pics and updates as my 10 day vacation went on. She was doing the 11:00 ish walk. They played fetch and he looked happy and engaged with her play time. Thank you so much Aurielee!!! I’ll definitely recommend her and I’ll be using her again in Jan when I leave for a week. Good Job all around.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Kelowna choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find walkers who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 95% of walkers can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
