About: I am the first person most family, friends or neighbours call when they need someone to keep an eye on their home and their beloved pets. I have owned pets since I was young. So I am comfortable around dogs, cats, small animals and fish tanks. Apart from the usual diet and exercise expected, I have experience administering meds for cats and dogs (pills & needles) if required. I have fun trying to teach dogs how to dance! I frequently housesit for extended periods during the winter months, keeping your home safe and warm while you enjoy the warmth of a faraway beach. If I am housesitting I will be around all day, for other pet care I can do visits on a schedule that works best for you. I will follow any safety precautions set out by the owners. The safety of your pets, your house and my own safety are top priority.

About: What sets me apart is the level of presence and care I bring to each home. I focus on maintaining pets’ routines, comfort, and emotional well-being—not just meeting their basic needs. I’m patient, observant, and calm, which helps pets feel safe, especially puppies who are still learning and seniors who need gentler, more attentive care. My routine is built around doing what’s right for the pets I care for. I plan my days to ensure reliability, consistency, and calm, so each pet feels safe and well cared for in their own home. I prioritize safety, routine, and respect. I follow care instructions carefully, maintain a calm, secure environment, and stay attentive to each pet’s physical and emotional needs. Trust matters—to both pets and people.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Summerland
I couldn’t be happier with the care Sydney provided for Leo. It’s not always easy finding someone who is comfortable and patient with a senior, 65lb Plott Hound, but Sydney was fantastic with him. She was incredibly reliable, communicative, and clearly has a natural way with dogs. Leo returned from his walks happy and well-exercised, and I really appreciated the updates she provided along the way. It gave me total peace of mind knowing he was in such capable hands. I highly recommend Sydney to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog walker. We will definitely be booking with her again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Summerland choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find walkers who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
