“Very happy using Micheala to walk our dog Ollie. He can be quite unsure about new people but she took the time to get to know him and listen to any suggestions that we had and he seems very happy with her now.”

“Tori did an amazing job! She was so great with our dog Isabella and was great at communicating. She shared details of the walks, including very cute pictures of a happy pup! I really appreciated having Tori help with Isabella’s walks. I felt very at ease and highly recommend her services. Thank you, Tori!”

About: I’m an experienced and reliable pet sitter who’s especially comfortable with high-energy dogs. I have a husky myself, so I understand how important exercise and enrichment are. I’ve done extensive training with my own dog, including basic obedience, and professional ECollar training. What sets me apart is my experience with nervous or reactive dogs. I’m patient, attentive to body language, and use calm, consistent handling to help dogs feel safe and settled. Whether your dog needs lots of activity or a slower, more reassuring approach, I adapt to their individual needs. I’m also committed to keeping routines consistent, from walks and feeding schedules to reinforcing any training you’re working on. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are always my top priority. I also have experience safely removing ticks and administering medications when needed. Pet care fits naturally into my routine. I’m currently working part-time and am a university student, which gives me a flexible schedule throughout the week. I’m available on weekends and can adjust my day to accommodate walks, drop-ins, or extended care. I make it a priority to build my schedule around your pets. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priority. In your home, I respect your space and follow your pet’s routine. I pay close attention to behavior and body language, especially with nervous or reactive pets, and always use calm, consistent handling. I’m mindful of safety on walks and in the home, including secure leashing, avoiding unsafe situations, and keeping a clean, hazard-free environment. I also follow all care instructions carefully, including feeding, medication, and any training cues you’re working on. If I’m caring for pets in my home, I ensure they have a safe, clean, and comfortable space, with plenty of supervision, exercise, and enrichment based on their needs. I’ll also keep you updated with regular messages and photos so you can feel confident your pet is happy and well cared for while you’re away

“Rhonda was amazing with my 3 month old puppy. Not only is she very personable but she went above and beyond and took my pup for extra time AND come early. Will definitely be using her again!”

“Mike is a kind and patient dog walker, and we truly appreciate his gentle nature. Walter is always in great hands with him, and we’re grateful for the care he provides!”

About: I have always had pets until this last year (cats and dogs). I now walk my daughters' dogs for them daily early morning, and I really enjoy having that daily connection with my furry friends! Being semi-retired I am available for consistent and reliable care. I am working from home in the mornings, and then always take my walks in the afternoons, so that is the best time for me to come to your home to walk or visit your pet. I am available for visits in West Kelowna. I can visit in your home and/or yard and also take your pet for a walk in your area.

“Tessa was excellent with our dog, an 80lb lab. She asked a lot of questions to ensure she understood the care he needed (2 walks), and was great with communicating with us. Our dog was well-looked after and look forward to the next opportunity we have to book her services!”

About: Dogs have always been a huge part of my life, and they truly hold a special place in my heart. For 12 wonderful years, I cared for my mini Pomeranian, Jersey, who has since passed. Through caring for her, I learned the importance of patience, attentiveness, and understanding each dog’s individual needs. Now, my husband and I have Molly, our one year old mini Dachshund. She’s energetic, playful, and full of spunk, which has reinforced the importance of consistency, patience, and positive engagement. As a dog owner myself, I understand how hard it can be to leave your dog in someone else’s care. I provide a calm, loving, and safe environment while making sure each dog’s routine is followed closely, whether that includes walks, playtime, structure, or plenty of cuddle time. I love all animals, but dogs have a special place in my heart. My goal is to make your dog feel comfortable, happy, and well cared for while giving you complete peace of mind knowing they’re being treated like family 🐾 I have a very flexible schedule. I own and operate my own dance studio, where I teach for a few hours in the evenings few days a week. Outside of those teaching hours, I’m home and available throughout. Because of this flexibility, I’m able to give dogs plenty of attention and maintain their routines. Pet care fits seamlessly into my daily life, and I’m able to prioritize each dog’s comfort, safety, and happiness while they’re in my care. Whatever your pet needs let me know and I will give them the best care! The goal is to make them feel as comfortable as possible while your away.
About: My daughter and I love Dogs, but we arnt allowed anymore. We have been fostering and puppy sitting for 8 years now. Love every minute of it. I work from home and spend very little time at my desk. This leaves me lots of time for walks, puppy parks, beach and cuddles. We do not have a fenced yard but a gated patio area. We also love trips to the park or a walk around the neighbourhood.
About: Lifelong animal lover and friend, I’ve been caring for friends’ and family pets for as long as I can remember. Now instilling the same love and respect for animals in my two boys. We are a loving family who will treat your pets like royalty. In saying that, I will be the primary caretaker for your animals, but my children live in the home and will be interacting with your pet(s) at times. Please keep this in mind if your pets don’t like children as there may be a better fit for you 🙂 I am a Registered Nurse working part-time on a rotating schedule with tons of availability and flexibility. Your pet will never be alone for more than 2 hours at my home. I have a fenced yard backing onto a beautiful golf course and have the ability to crate your dog if required. Please bring your crate with your dog if they use one. Your dog will spend as much time in or outside as you like.
About: I have always had a cat in my life and I have also volunteered over 200 hours caring for cats at the SPCA. I experienced a wide variety of cats, including many shy and anxious ones. While I have the most experience with cats, I would love to take your well-behaved dog for a walk or run. I am currently a student taking online courses, so I have complete flexibility for drop-in visits and walks throughout the week. I plan my schoolwork around visits so I can meet your pet’s needs and stay consistent with their routine. I’m a calm and patient person, and I always let your cat or dog approach me on their own terms. I never force interaction—I give them the space they need to feel safe and comfortable around me.
About: My name is Michelle, I love all animals and have cared for the majority of my life. I used to walk and board dogs professionally in college. When boarding dogs I would open my schedule 100% to the animals and make no additional plans to ensure your pets are my first priority. I am very active and will make sure every animal has the right amount of exercise and more during their stay. I am a big walker so I am looking for some dogs to join me who love it just as much as I do! I work 4x a week for a couple of hours a day and am home majority of the time otherwise, when I have animas staying with me I schedule my days so I can be with them 100% I love to go for long walks and get exercise! I can’t wait to meet your animal and love it like it’s my own. The more energetic the better!
About: Other than owning dogs since early childhood I have worked as a kennel attendant, taking care of 200 dogs and worked as a dog sledding guide looking after 50 Alaskan huskies. I have my own dog currently, a year old Australian shepherd, so am no stranger to high energy breeds. I am new to Kelowna and work part time with looking to fill the gaps with as many dog/ cat friends as possible. I have my own dog who requires frequent walks and would be open to having her join on dog walks/ play dates if the owner is interested. I love personal time with dogs and love providing enrichment and mentally stimulating play with breed specifics in mind. I’ve raised 4 puppies myself so have a very keen eye on keeping them out of trouble.

I have a yard at home that is fenced. If your place has no fence, i’ll either keep them on leash or watch very very carefully.
“I couldn’t recommend Angie enough! She truly loves and cares for our puppy as if he were her own. She is very punctual, playful and always up for a walk, regardless of the weather. She trains our pup when she’s with him, reinforcing our commands and behaviours. I feel assured that when Angie is with our puppy, he is safe and well cared for.”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - West Kelowna
Mike was awesome with Bella and Cora. They were both super happy to see him everyday and came back content and tired from their walks. He even took Cora down to the nearby dog park on the last day and she got to meet a bunch of puppers (along with Mike’s golden). Would have Mike come walk the dogs again anytime!

I’ve used Debora a few times to walk my pup during the day when I’ve been gone. She has always been reliable, on time and gives lots of updates which I appreciate! She send lots of beautiful photos of my dog which I absolutely love and goes above and beyond to make sure she is well taken care of. I would recommend Debora and will continue to use her myself!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in West Kelowna choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find walkers who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 94% of walkers can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
