“Michaela has been talking for Laika for walks a few times each week since heading back to work and we are so thankful! She is very patient and attentive give to Laika’s need, as she tends to be a bit shy. Thank you Michaela!”

About: I have always had a cat in my life and I have also volunteered over 200 hours caring for cats at the SPCA. I experienced a wide variety of cats, including many shy and anxious ones. While I have the most experience with cats, I would love to take your well-behaved dog for a walk or run. I am currently a student taking online courses, so I have complete flexibility for drop-in visits and walks throughout the week. I plan my schoolwork around visits so I can meet your pet’s needs and stay consistent with their routine. I’m a calm and patient person, and I always let your cat or dog approach me on their own terms. I never force interaction—I give them the space they need to feel safe and comfortable around me.

Frequent bathroom breaks, breakfast and diner, medication when needed, and cuddles often, I can adapt to any schedule or routine your pet needs to make sure they are well taken care of.

About: Animals have always been a big part of my life. I grew up on a farm with dogs and, in high school, worked as a veterinary assistant. Caring for animals has been a constant throughout my life, and I just love having them around. My husband and I recently said goodbye to our beloved cat after many wonderful years together. While we take some time to decide when to welcome another pet into our family, we're excited for the opportunity to care for yours. I work as a realtor with a flexible schedule and am currently completing my Master's degree in Counselling Psychology online. My husband also works from home, so your pet will receive plenty of attention, companionship, and supervision throughout the day. While we don't have a large backyard, we have beautiful walking trails directly across the street and a dog park just a short walk away. We live in a quiet, family-oriented neighbourhood that is perfect for daily walks and outdoor time. Our goal is to provide a safe, calm, and loving environment where your pet feels comfortable and right at home. Thank you for considering us. We look forward to meeting you and welcoming your pet into our home. 🐾 I work as a realtor with a flexible schedule and am currently completing my Master's degree in Counselling Psychology online, so I spend much of my time at home. My husband also works from home, which means your pet will receive plenty of attention and companionship throughout the day. Between daily walks, outdoor time, playtime, and cuddles, we strive to make pets feel comfortable, happy, and right at home. I believe pets are happiest when their usual routines are maintained as closely as possible. Whether caring for your pet in my home or yours, I take the time to learn their preferences, habits, exercise needs, and favourite activities. In my home, pets will receive plenty of supervision, companionship, walks, playtime, and affection in a safe and calm environment. For house sitting and drop-in visits, I will ensure your pet is well cared for while also respecting your home and keeping you updated with regular photos and messages. My goal is for both you and your pet to feel comfortable, relaxed, and confident while you're apart.
About: I am a university student at UBCO living at home with my family and 2 dogs. This gives me the unique flexibility to stay overnight and care for pets on short notice. I have had dogs my whole life, and currently have a senior rescue, and a puppy at home. This gives me the experience I need to care for all kinds of dogs, well trained, not yet trained, puppies, seniors, rescues, purebreds etc. I have been dog and cat sitting for family friends several times a year for over 3 years since high school. I am a very responsible person, extremely reliable, and communicate well. I love the outdoors and going for walks, as well as lazy days at home. I have a very flexible school and work schedule. I am a student at UBCO and have several 3-4 hour gaps in my day which I can come home and spend time with the pets. I am done my classes around dinner time, and can come straight home for the evening. On the weekends, I am a server at a restaurant in town and generally only work 4-6 hour shifts. This means I am around for the majority of the day. I have been dog walking for many years as I have had dogs my whole life. With clients, I try and keep the pet’s routine as similar as possible to their owner’s. I like to be around as much as possible and keep the pets as comfortable as they can be while their owner is away.
About: I have always had pets until this last year (cats and dogs). I now walk my daughters' dogs for them daily early morning, and I really enjoy having that daily connection with my furry friends! Being semi-retired I am available for consistent and reliable care. I am working from home in the mornings, and then always take my walks in the afternoons, so that is the best time for me to come to your home to walk or visit your pet. I am available for visits in West Kelowna. I can visit in your home and/or yard and also take your pet for a walk in your area.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - West Kelowna
Mike was awesome with Bella and Cora. They were both super happy to see him everyday and came back content and tired from their walks. He even took Cora down to the nearby dog park on the last day and she got to meet a bunch of puppers (along with Mike’s golden). Would have Mike come walk the dogs again anytime!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in West Kelowna choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find walkers who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
