“Isabella is the best! She is very responsible and personable, and took great care of my cat Gooseberry! I appreciated the pictures she provided over the weekend. Goose also liked her a lot! :)”

“Eva was amazing. I wish I could leave more than 5 stars. She took such great care of my cat and also went above and beyond to take care of my home while I was gone. That was such a treat to come home to after an exhausting trip. She listened well to all my instructions and took great care to make sure everything was taken care of. Will definitely be using her services again.”

“Elisa took great care of our pup and our home. We really appreciated her regular communication, updates and questions along the way. She was flexible, attentive and kind.”

“Leah was an absolute lifesaver during a very difficult time for our family. She went above and beyond from the very beginning, making time to meet us, our dogs, chickens and ducks beforehand and accommodating a last-minute booking with less than 24 hours’ notice. Communication was outstanding throughout the entire experience. Her pre-booking contact was thorough and reassuring, and she kept us updated while we were away, giving us complete peace of mind. Most importantly, Leah genuinely prioritized our dogs’ needs. They are loving but reactive dogs and can be demanding to care for, yet she handled them with patience, understanding, and confidence. She took them on adventures, ensured they were well cared for, and treated them as if they were her own. We could not be happier with the experience. While Leah may be at the higher end of the price range, she is worth every penny for the level of care, professionalism, and peace of mind she provides. We are incredibly grateful for everything she did and would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone looking for exceptional pet and house care. Especially more demanding or special need scenarios. Thank you Leah!!!”

“Erik was absolutely great with our puppy! He updated us throughout the day with videos and pictures and it was clear how much he enjoyed spending the day with her. He took her on lots and lots of walks, which was so appreciated! Highly highly recommend”

“Mateya was great with quick communication right from the start. She took care of our 14 year old cat who needs medication every morning. She did a great job staying overnight making sure Charlie's meds & feeding were kept on schedule. Charlie was drawn to Mateya very quickly, giving her lots of cuddles & affection. She provided updates daily with photos. We came home to a clean home & happy kitty! Would recommend Mateya for a stress free getaway.”

About: I have a 6 year old pup. Been pet sitting for over 8 years now. I just love doggos and wanna make some extra cash :) I work Tuesday, Thursday afternoons and all day Saturdays so that makes me available for Rover on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. I walk my dog everyday so I can bring him along if your dog likes the company :) I treat dogs with patience and kindness. I like to go on long walks on nice days and take pups to the dog park. Cuddly and playful dogs are my fav :)
“As a first time user of Rover, I was quite nervous leaving our two small dogs. Kirstin was great with them and even came back immediately to assist further when the airline left us stranded over night and out of province. Kirstin relieved a large amount of stress during an already stressful time. The dogs were healthy and happy and the house was left clean! I was also very thankful for the regular pictures showing them in their regular routine. We are very thankful to connect with Kirstin!”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs since I was about 10 years old and have always had dogs in my family. I’m comfortable with feeding, walking, playtime, and giving them plenty of attention and affection. I love getting dogs out for walks, but I’m just as happy spending time with the little cuddle buddies who prefer relaxing on the couch. I understand that every dog has their own personality and routine, and I’ll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while in my care. Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I already enjoy making time for walks, outdoor activities, and relaxing at home with a furry cuddle buddy. I can plan morning and evening walks, feeding, playtime, and check-ins around my work schedule, with additional flexibility on weekends. I’m organized and will always make sure your pet receives consistent care, attention, and companionship. Your pet’s safety and comfort will always be my priority. I’ll carefully follow their usual routine, feeding instructions, walking preferences, and any special care needs. I’ll keep doors and gates secure, use a leash during walks, and make sure their environment is clean and free from anything unsafe. I’ll also give them plenty of attention, respect their boundaries, and send regular updates so you can feel confident that your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for.
“As far as we are concerned Magdala is a dog whisperer. We have an extremely timid Shih-tzu we got during Covid. She has never been left alone. We tried some doggy daycares but she was very stressed out. Magdala came over for a meet and greet and Pepper spent the whole time by her side. That has never happened! Today Magdala came to our place to look after Pepper all day and after the initial excitement of us coming home she is totally relaxed. 5 stars all the way!!!”

About: Animals have been a big part of my life, and I bring both education and hands-on experience to every pet I care for. I have an undergraduate degree in animal biology and gained experience working in veterinary clinics where I learned the importance of careful observation and treating every animal as an individual. I also spent a year living with a breeder while completing Teachers college, helping with everything from birthing to feeding, to puppy development, house training, and the day-to-day care of the dogs. I’m comfortable around puppies and adult dogs. I’m currently a teacher so patience, consistency, communication, and staying calm when things get chaotic are part of my everyday life. Whether your pet needs an energetic walk, patient companion or a consistent routine, I’ll care for them as if they were my own. I am currently off for the summer so I am generally available during the weekday and weekends. Once school begins I will be free after 4 PM during the weekdays and available during the weekends. I am able to pet sit at your home as I am extremely responsible, reliable and will ask questions for clarification. I am clean, courteous and will make sure your pet feels safe and comfortable.
About: Hi! I’m a lifelong animal lover with a special soft spot for cats. I’ve had cats my entire life and understand their personalities, quirks, and need for calm, consistent care—especially when their humans are away. Whether your pet is social and playful or more on the “observe from a distance” side, I’m happy to meet them where they’re at. I’m comfortable administering medications (oral and topical), have experience with daily insulin injections, and I take a patient, gentle approach to make it as stress-free as possible for your pet. While cats are my specialty, I’ve also cared for small dogs and even chickens—so I’m very comfortable managing a variety of routines and needs. I work a structured 9-5 daytime schedule, which allows me to provide consistent and predictable pet care. I am available for morning and evening visits, and I offer overnight house sitting for pets who are comfortable with a normal daytime routine. Because I carefully manage my schedule and take on a limited number of clients at a time, I can provide reliable care, regular updates, and plenty of attention while you're away. When caring for pets in a client's home, my goal is to keep their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. I follow feeding schedules, medication instructions, litter box and exercise routines, and any household guidelines provided by the owner. I understand that every pet is different. Some cats want lots of interaction and playtime, while others prefer quiet companionship and consistency. I take the time to learn each pet's personality and adjust my approach accordingly. Safety and communication are important to me. I provide regular updates and photos so owners know how their pets are doing while they're away. If I ever have a question or concern, I communicate promptly rather than making assumptions. I also treat my clients' homes with the same care and respect I would expect in my own home, ensuring pets remain safe, comfortable, and secure until their owners return.
About: I am Canine and Feline First Aide Certified by Red Cross Canada! I volunteer for a prestigious program at UBC Okanagan called B.A.R.K.! With this program, I work with over 70 different dogs of all ages and have had extensive experience with reading animal body language! Furthermore I have done my research on many training methods and am comfortable with animals of all temperaments. I am physically fit and can handle larger pets as well! Lastly, I can care for pets outside of cats and dogs if given specific care instructions. I will care for your animals with the same love and compassion that I care for my own! I am striving to create long lasting relationships with you and your pet! I am a student working part time, however I am fully committed to providing full attention to the lovely animals I will be watching! My schedule is pretty flexible and I can work around my school schedule easily. I am also almost always reachable by my cell if anything is ever needed! Please feel free to contact me with any questions, I am a people person as much as I am an animal person :) Any rules within your household will be strictly followed! I am incredibly organized and clean, so you'll always come home to a happy fur baby and the house just how you want it. If preferred, I can crate your pet and ensure that they are clean, brushed etc. I am always happy to send pictures of your pet to ease any anxieties you may have.
About: Hi! I’m Gina 👋🐾 Dogs have quite literally been my life for more than a decade. For 14 years, I owned and operated my own professional dog walking, boarding and pet care business in Ontario, caring for hundreds of dogs with every kind of personality, from tiny puppies and energetic adventure buddies to nervous rescues and seniors who needed a little extra patience and TLC. I’m also trained in dog behaviour and training and certified in Pet First Aid & CPR, so while I’m absolutely the person who will talk to your dog like they’re a tiny human and send you way too many cute photos, there’s a lot of professional experience behind the fun. 😂 My own dog, Colt (aka Coltie), has been by my side for almost eight years. He’s a rescue and my absolute best friend. This year, I closed my business, packed up our life and the two of us set off on an adventure across Canada together before eventually making Kelowna our new home. 🏔️🐾 After spending so many years caring for other people’s dogs professionally, I understand how much trust it takes to hand your dog over to someone else. I don’t take that lightly. I pay attention to the little things, their routines, body language, quirks, comfort levels and all those very specific instructions only another obsessed dog person understands. Whether your dog wants an adventure, a good walk, playtime, enrichment or just someone to curl up beside them and make them feel safe, I’ll treat them like one of my own. Professional experience, lots of adventure, an unreasonable number of dog photos and a whole lot of love. Your dog deserves more than a house sitter. They deserve someone who actually gets it. That's us! I am happy to share my business name, website and socials during a call so that you can see all of my other references from the years I've been doing this work. Besides being outdoors, or road tripping I love to strength train and sometimes Coltie enjoys running with me. I enjoy live music and writing in my down time. Unfortunately I cannot care for your plants, even if you leave precise instructions I will still kill them. I wanted to mention I am also open to purely house sitting. In which I would clean (I enjoy this!), do laundry and run any errands that you’d need before returning home, such as groceries. The possibilities are endless! I look forward to chatting with you! Warmly, Gina and Coltie. I am typically an early riser, I don't like to waste the days! The routine depends on the dog (or cat) that I am caring for. If your dog wants to and is able to do some hikes, that is my preference, however I enjoy neighbourhood walks also. I don't take my dog, or clients dogs to the off leash dog parks as other dogs (and owners) can be unpredictable. I am not gone from the house very long if I do make plans, very rarely would I spend more than 6-8 hrs away from home. I am always home at night and sleep is very important to me! Depending where I am I enjoy the gym so that is definitely part of my routine, as well as the hikes and long walks. I do have my own dog that would be accompaning me. He has been in a pack since he was born, and is my side kick for everything! He's crate trained, house trained, off leash and on leash trained and loves dog and human friends. I am open to what your pet needs. I do enjoy the outdoors, so hiking trails, or parks would most likely be in the schedule. It really depends on your dog, it needs to suit their special requirements.
About: I have 10 yrs of experience as a pet sitter in BC and abroad. I have just returned to Kelowna after a 3 yr hiatus where I traveled to 11 countries where I pet sat in 8 of them. I have great reviews and a 5 star rating from completed sits in those countries. And I have open availability starting in June of 2026. I am retired so my schedule for pet care is open and flexible. I can dedicate my services part time to full time depending on the individual needs of the pet parent's. I have always cared for people's pets in their own home. I enjoy traveling to new surroundings and take great pride in my 5 star reviews. I leave pet owners home clean and tidy and I update pet owners on any developments that should occur and reassure them that their pets are being well cared for. I use WhatsApp, email, or text to communicate with pet owners.
About: Hi! I’m excited to offer attentive, loving care for your pets. Animal care has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember—I’ve been caring for dogs and puppies since I was 10 years old, raising my own pups, and regularly stepping in to look after pets for friends and family. Over the years, I’ve gained extensive hands-on experience with dogs of all breeds, temperaments, and sizes. Through training my own dog as a young adult and helping foster rescue dogs in my home, I’ve learned how to handle diverse personalities with patience, clear communication, and positive reinforcement. Whether your dog needs an active, energizing walk around the neighborhood, structured care, or just a calm, cozy stay while you’re away, you can trust that they will be safe, happy, and treated like family. Specialized Experience: Experienced in managing high-energy breeds, anxious temperaments, basic obedience training, multi-dog dynamics, and foster care. My flexible schedule as a part-time student and part-time employee allows me to give your pet consistent care, attention, and companionship throughout the day. Because I have substantial breaks between my classes and dedicated afternoon blocks off, I can easily fit in mid-day check-ins, walks, and feeding schedules. Monday & Wednesday: Available for morning, mid-day, and late afternoon check-ins during my class breaks, as well as full evening availability. Tuesday: Open and available all afternoon and evening. Thursday: Free during the morning and afternoon for check-ins and walks before my evening work shift. Friday: Available for morning and mid-day check-ins before my evening work shift. Saturday: Available for evening walks, dinner drop-ins, and overnight stays following my daytime work shift. Sunday: Completely free all day and evening for full-day care, long walks, and flexible scheduling. Note: I’m always happy to share my exact class times during our meet-and-greet to lock in the precise time slots that best fit your dog’s routine! If you are looking for overnight boarding or daycare in West Kelowna, your pup will love staying at my home! Fully Fenced, Spacious Yard: I have a large, securely fenced backyard with plenty of room for your dog to safely run, play, fetch, and stretch their legs. Safe & Secure: Peace of mind is my top priority. The perimeter is fully enclosed so your dog can enjoy outdoor playtime safely and securely. Comforts of Home: Indoors, your dog will be treated like family—with cozy places to rest, plenty of personal attention, and a calm, welcoming atmosphere. Note that my home is pet free as well

Eva was a wonderful house sitter! The house was tidy and well cared for when we got home, and our garden was still happily alive. She was also a great communicator and kept us updated about the animals while we were away, which gave us lots of peace of mind. We’d happily have Eva stay again!

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in West Kelowna maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred West Kelowna walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in West Kelowna choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
