About: I have owned a variety of animals including rabbits, gerbils, fish and a cat. I have been a go-to pet sitter for my friends' cats, dogs and rabbits. Always open to learning more about different kinds of pets! I am available for overnight pet sitting, check ins and dog walking 7 days a week. I have a flexible schedule and am currently seeking employment. I bond with animals on their terms and am very good with following specific instructions. I am experienced with reading cat, dog and rabbit body language and verbal cues.
About: What sets me apart is the level of presence and care I bring to each home. I focus on maintaining pets’ routines, comfort, and emotional well-being—not just meeting their basic needs. I’m patient, observant, and calm, which helps pets feel safe, especially puppies who are still learning and seniors who need gentler, more attentive care. My routine is built around doing what’s right for the pets I care for. I plan my days to ensure reliability, consistency, and calm, so each pet feels safe and well cared for in their own home. I prioritize safety, routine, and respect. I follow care instructions carefully, maintain a calm, secure environment, and stay attentive to each pet’s physical and emotional needs. Trust matters—to both pets and people.
“Book Jennifer to spend a few hours with my pup before my trip to Mexico. Jennifer was great, we walked the dog and I left them alone for a while. Finley seemed totally comfortable in her company. She even sent me a picture to reassure me!. Feeling much more comfortable about going away and leaving him in Jennifer's care.”

About: I have had dogs all my life, both small and large breeds. I have cared for them at all stages, including extensive senior care. I have also had dogs that required a complicated medication routine or other special accommodations. My husband, Andrew and I share care of your pets. Having someone working from home, allows your dogs to get all the attention they deserve during the day. It also allows flexibility to meet your dog care needs. Our home has a very large, fully fenced yard. Our home is very pet friendly. Pets are allowed throughout the whole house. We really strive to ensure your pet feels like apart of our family. I have extra help from my husband. We are very capable of offering specialized medical care for your companion as well.
““Phoebe did an amazing job taking care of our dog, Bowie, and our foster dog, Mango! She was attentive, reliable, and showed so much love to both pups. We came home to happy, well-cared-for dogs and couldn’t be more grateful. Highly recommend!””

“My little dachshund Stanley loved Alyson from the second she walked into the house (and he isn’t like that with very many people). I felt very good leaving him with Alyson as I knew he was gonna be in good hands. Alyson was very attentive and communicative. I would ask her back in a heartbeat and not only that she is very lovely person. Alyson took very good care of my dog and my house was spotless when I got home. Thanks again Alyson🥰”

“Laurie was awesome with our senior dog. Lots of exercise and very communicative. She stayed at the house and looked after everything perfectly. Sadie sometimes won't eat when we first leave, but she was so happy with Laurie, she had no interruptions to her usual routine. Will definitely book again.”

About: I am the first person most family, friends or neighbours call when they need someone to keep an eye on their home and their beloved pets. I have owned pets since I was young. So I am comfortable around dogs, cats, small animals and fish tanks. Apart from the usual diet and exercise expected, I have experience administering meds for cats and dogs (pills & needles) if required. I have fun trying to teach dogs how to dance! I frequently housesit for extended periods during the winter months, keeping your home safe and warm while you enjoy the warmth of a faraway beach. If I am housesitting I will be around all day, for other pet care I can do visits on a schedule that works best for you. I will follow any safety precautions set out by the owners. The safety of your pets, your house and my own safety are top priority.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Penticton
Kaylee was great! My Great Dane was in love with her the second they met at the meet and greet. Although my dog was uneasy when she came to my place on her own, she worked through it and had a great time together. Unintentionally, my sister saw Kaylee out for a walk with my dog, my sister said Kaylee was in control and the walk looked like it was going well!

I had two senior cats who need a little extra care, so it’s always a little stressful leaving them. Sarah was very confident when it came to the meds and supplements my cats need, and I felt reassured knowing they were in her care. The house was tidy when we returned and the cats seemed pretty chill!
Thank you Celine for staying in my home and being such a trustworthy and reliable pet sitter. Thank you for being so caring and patient with my senior Alpha male cat who thinks he is the boss and leaving everything spotless. I was able to leave knowing I had the best cat sitter and would most definitely recommend you as top notch! Forever grateful. Judy Kokoska and Felix

We recently adopted an 8 month old puppy and already had plans to go out of town. Our original plans fell through so I was looking everywhere for a solution. We found Ainsley and she was great about meeting us ahead of time to introduce our pup and home to her. It’s tough leaving a puppy at home but our pup seemed to click with her instantly which was very reassuring. Ainsley also was very receptive to keeping her on the schedule we started in order to keep her routine consistent. Thank you Ainsley :)

Laurie was awesome with our senior dog. Lots of exercise and very communicative. She stayed at the house and looked after everything perfectly. Sadie sometimes won't eat when we first leave, but she was so happy with Laurie, she had no interruptions to her usual routine. Will definitely book again.

Brandi was a fantastic choice to care for our dog, two cats, and home while we were away for 10 days. She is a clear animal lover and kept everyone happy and healthy while we were away which gave us excellent peace of mind. She was extremely respectful of our home and left it cleaner than we did! I highly recommend Brandi if you need an animal and house sitter.

Sara communicated with us consistently and understood the feeling of leaving our dogs with someone else. The dogs were well taking care and I believe that Sara received much affection from those two monkeys! The house was very cleaned and our outdoor taken care off when we return. Highly recommend her. The boys will miss her.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Penticton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Penticton walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Penticton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
