Colleen was great. She was giving my dog his medication twice daily while we were away. It was reassuring to have her looking after him. We received updates and pictures which were greatly appreciated. My dog liked her and was happy to see her. Would definitely want to have Colleen look after him again if we go away again.

Kirsten did a drop in visit for our cat when we went away for the weekend. Our cat seemed happy when we got home. Kirsten was easy to reach by phone. We’d be happy to have Kirsten take care of Bentley again.

About: New to Rover? Here’s 20% off your first booking: CHELSC36714 when you book with me! Look no further, you’ve found the perfect sitter for your fur baby! You can usually find me petting dogs in the corner during a house party. 😅 Frequent pictures/videos are my style! I love to keep you in the know on how your buddy is doing during his/her stay with me. From walking, pet sitting, or daily check in's, I've done it all. At this time, I can only accept well-behaved dogs. This means that they get along with other dogs and people, they are house trained, and they do not bark excessively when left alone. Slightly nervous dogs are welcomed as Ive had plenty of experience and am fully aware of sensing dogs energy, not being forceful, and making them feel comfortable in my/your space, however I do not accept any aggression. I hope to meet with you in your pup in the near future! I currently work part-time from home, so that only time your pet will be alone is if I have to run to the store. In that case I have a pet cam! I live in a ground-floor apartment with my fiancé who is a huge dog lover, although he is not home for half the month. We have many fields nearby and lots of hiking trail options. My energetic Australian Shepherd does not loose exercise because we don't have a yard. Depending on your comfort level, I mountain bike and off leash hike with my dog often and it’s a great way to tire them out.

Laurie was absolutely amazing when she cared for my cats while I was away for 9 days. I was nervous about leaving them for that long but having Laurie care for them put my mind at ease and she really did a phenomenal job keeping me informed with how things were going. Prior to my going away she dropped in two different times to make sure she fully understood what my/my cats needs were. I could tell she really cared about my animals well being and kept them happy with consistently and the support they needed.

About: What sets me apart is the level of presence and care I bring to each home. I focus on maintaining pets’ routines, comfort, and emotional well-being—not just meeting their basic needs. I’m patient, observant, and calm, which helps pets feel safe, especially puppies who are still learning and seniors who need gentler, more attentive care. My routine is built around doing what’s right for the pets I care for. I plan my days to ensure reliability, consistency, and calm, so each pet feels safe and well cared for in their own home. I prioritize safety, routine, and respect. I follow care instructions carefully, maintain a calm, secure environment, and stay attentive to each pet’s physical and emotional needs. Trust matters—to both pets and people.

About: With over 20 years of experience caring for dogs of all shapes, sizes, and personalities, I bring a deep love and understanding to every pet I look after. From playful zoomies to peaceful senior strolls, I’m here to make your dog feel safe, happy, and right at home. I’ve personally raised and cared for three dogs of different breeds, and I’m confident handling all kinds of temperaments and energy levels. I’m happy to help with bathing, walks, playtime, and even basic training — including sit, recall, leash manners, and potty training. I’m especially mindful of age-specific needs, whether it’s soothing anxiety, supporting mobility issues, or simply knowing when a pup needs a little extra patience or comfort. Whatever your dog requires — special instructions, medications, or routines — I’ll follow it closely to ensure they feel loved and well cared for. Your pet’s well-being is my top priority, and I’d be honored to care for them like one of my own Pet care is a natural and rewarding part of my daily life. I build my schedule around the pets I’m caring for to ensure they get consistent attention, exercise, and companionship throughout the day. Whether I’m doing drop-in visits, walks, or full-time pet sitting, I make sure each pet has a set routine they can rely on — from morning potty breaks and mealtime to evening walks and wind-down time. When caring for pets in their own home, I follow your instructions closely to maintain their familiar routine and environment. I respect your space and your pet’s comfort zone — whether that means quiet companionship or engaging activities. From feeding and walking to medications or special care, I treat your home and pet with the same love and attention I’d give my own.

It's always hard on me to leave my cat, but knowing Phoebe was coming to check on her made it easier. I will definitely rebook and would refer her to anyone! Absolutely loved the little video clips and pictures.

Sarah was wonderful! She was very calm and gentle with our somewhat fearful, unconfident dog, and by the end of her three visits with him he really liked her. She is very knowledgeable about dogs, & provided exercise and enrichment in the form of some dog puzzles on one very cold day. She even leant us a dog harness because we had forgotten ours. We will definitely try to book Sarah again when we are next in Fernie.

About: I am the first person most family, friends or neighbours call when they need someone to keep an eye on their home and their beloved pets. I have owned pets since I was young. So I am comfortable around dogs, cats, small animals and fish tanks. Apart from the usual diet and exercise expected, I have experience administering meds for cats and dogs (pills & needles) if required. I have fun trying to teach dogs how to dance! I frequently housesit for extended periods during the winter months, keeping your home safe and warm while you enjoy the warmth of a faraway beach. If I am housesitting I will be around all day, for other pet care I can do visits on a schedule that works best for you. I will follow any safety precautions set out by the owners. The safety of your pets, your house and my own safety are top priority.

FAQs for Drop-In Visits - Penticton

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Pet Sitting in Penticton on Rover is $25.53 per visit (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Pet Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Pet Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

There are 400 sitters on Rover for Pet Sitting in Penticton. About 83% of Penticton sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you’re planning ahead for holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.

Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.

A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or travelling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer poop breaks during a Penticton stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover based on what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:

  • Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
  • House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
  • Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.

Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Penticton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 92% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 83% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
