“Jesi gave extra special care to our two cats. She seemed to be genuinely interested and engaged during her visits. She took on the challenge of giving eye drops to one of the cats and demonstrated competence and gentleness. We will definitely have Jesi back to care for our cats.”

“Loressa took great care of our cat Ember and followed all of our instructions to a T! We appreciated the regular updates and effort she made to play with Ember with her favourite toys. Our place was nice and clean when we got home to a happy kitty. Thanks Loressa!”

“Laurie and Terry did a great job looking after our girl Ember. It was great to have regular updates and know she was getting some supervised outside time while we were away, and lots of play time! We came back to a happy kitty and a clean home :)”

“Kirsten is the single best cat sitter we’ve had. She’s a pleasure to deal with, very accommodating, and the cats have genuinely warmed up to her. It’s peace of mind she’s looking after our pets while we’re away.”

“Colleen was great. She was giving my dog his medication twice daily while we were away. It was reassuring to have her looking after him. We received updates and pictures which were greatly appreciated. My dog liked her and was happy to see her. Would definitely want to have Colleen look after him again if we go away again.”

“Phoebe was great! Easy to communicate with and plan with. Very friendly and my little girl loved her! It's always hard on me to leave my cat, but knowing Phoebe was coming to check on her made it easier. I will definitely rebook and would refer her to anyone! Absolutely loved the little video clips and pictures.”

Whether you’re at the office for the day or travelling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer poop breaks during a Penticton stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover based on what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.
You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:
- Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
- House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
- Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.
Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Penticton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
