“Jutharat was such a great host for our pup while we were out and about during our visit to Kelowna from out of town! She sent lots of update photos and our boy got along great with her dog Pippi. We would definitely book with her again!”

“Nash had a great time playing at Darcy’s and is exhausted now ha ha. He always gets excited when we drive up to her place. She takes good care of Nash. Thank you Darcy!!”

“Jeanine was great with our little Marty. He is quite shy with separation anxiety. I used to worry leaving him at doggy day care, but I felt much better leaving him with Jeanine and Tegan. Jeanine has a large gated yard yet still went the extra mile to put up more barricades by her fence to make sure little 10 pound Marty couldn’t sneak out. We look forward to Marty spending more time with Jeanine and Tegan.”

“Bryden and Colleen took wonderful care of Stuart! He came home happy and tired every day. Stuart has separation anxiety and can take a bit of time to settle into new places; Bryden and Colleen were so patient and kind with him. We knew he was in good hands.”

“Marylin took wonderful care of our dog Polly. She came home happy and content after every visit. We're grateful for her care and are looking forward to more visits in the future!”

“Sylvie was amazing to deal with from the get-go. Quick to respond, experienced, clean, comfortable environment and very friendly. She spoiled my girl, took her out for a ride in her convertible and got her a treat. I am so thankful! 5 stars, would recommend and use again!”

“We had a great experience with Anothai and Mersad watching our dog Molly today. They are such a kind and caring husband-and-wife team, and you can tell they genuinely love what they do. Molly was very well cared for, and we felt completely at ease leaving her with them. It is such a nice feeling to find sitters who are warm, trustworthy, and clearly treat dogs with so much love and attention. We would absolutely book with them again and again!!! 😍😍😍”

“Aiden and Amy were amazing. They took such good care of my dog and were great at staying in communication so I knew he was in good hands. I highly recommend them to take care of your pet.”

“Suzanne was a fantastic pet sitter. We were coming from out of town and she made sure Becky’s comfort was top priority. She even arranged a meet and greet the day before Becky was to stay with her, with her own dogs (who were all incredibly cute, gentle, and sweet). Suzanne made us feel completely at ease by sending frequent photo updates, which were so darn cute! I highly recommend Suzanne. She is caring, lovely, and wonderful to work with.”

“Rosie had the most amazing day with Mike and Finn! From the moment we met them we knew right away that she would be well cared for. We recieved pictures and updates throughout the day and she came home a tuckered pup. I've already booked another date and will continue using Mike going forward.”

About: I’ve been a pet owner all my life. From mice, rats, bunnies, chickens, quail, ferrets, aquatics, birds, cats, and dogs. I’m offering a home experience. I can take Critters of all sorts anytime, however my cat or dog reservations are from one household set at a time. I have an easygoing chihuahua who gets along with everyone. A meet and greet can be set up prior to ease everyone’s comfort. He is cat savvy and believes they’re his friend, however if your feline prefers their space he can take a hint. I’m comfortable giving your pet meds. We have a cute fenced safe secure yard and nice quiet neighbourhood for walks. I’m currently home 90% of the time (though I am looking for more work outside the home part time.) Our home is very comfortable and and fur babies are a priority. We are a positive pet home. Cuddles and Netflix, yard time and walks. Plenty of one sided conversations and side eye looks. Unlike grandmas house, we do respect fur babies Mama and Papa’s rules. ;) we have fun and patience but routine is important for happy secure babies.
“Carla was amazing from the very first reassuring messages right through to the end of our trip. We'd never left our pup with a stranger before, so we were naturally a little nervous, but Carla put our minds at ease immediately. She was friendly, thoughtful, experienced, and incredibly flexible with times, which we really appreciated. It was clear Maggie had an amazing time! She came home happy, relaxed, and we loved seeing all the updates of her adventures. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Carla to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter, and we'll definitely be booking with her again whenever we're in Kelowna. Thank you so much, Carla!”

“Nancy is a great person and an amazing dog sitter. She is very well experienced. Super happy that we found a reliable person in Kelowna who can kindly dog sit Mocha. Thank you so much Nancy!”

“When a last minute change occurred drawing my booked pet sitter away on business her lovely sister Freya stepped in to save the day. Rhiannon made sure her sister filled in when she could not so I wasn’t left hanging and trying to find someone new last minute. To me that shows responsibility and integrity. My pups Arwen and Kili were well taken care of by Freya while I attended a graduation ceremony. Highly recommend both.”

“Katie was very easy to work with - she communicated quickly and clearly with us and followed all instructions. We left our dogs with her for the day and felt in the loop with their day and any issues so we were able to enjoy our trip to Kelowna without any stress. Our boys seemed to have a great time hanging out with her! We would definitely recommend Katie to anyone looking for a dog sitter.”

“Harley absolutely loves going to daycare! He now has a buddy to play and boy does he have with Bruce! I have no worries leaving Harley with Shelley, it sure eases the mind when you know your little is loved!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - West Kelowna
Jutharat was amazing. It was a super urgent last minute booking and she confirmed it immediately. Lola was at ease and loved the late evening walk after the air had cooled down a bit. Lots of photos put my mind at ease! Also loved that Lola got to hang out on the deck. She loves watching the world go by outside.

Joanna is such a sweetheart. She has a calm personality and took such good care of my lab. She took care of him two days in a row and he was so excited to see her the second day! Normally when I leave him he gets upset but not with Joanna! He was content staying with her which shows me that he’s happy there. He’s a very good judge of character. I would highly recommend her as someone kind and trustworthy to take care of your furry family member.

I booked my senior and often anxious dog into doggie daycare with Sonia for a couple of days so she had somewhere cool and safe to hang out while my Mom and I visited some wineries. Sonia was amazing! My dog felt comfortable with her right away, and I really cannot say enough good things about the fantastic care Sonia provided! 10 out of 10 - I highly recommend Sonia!

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your West Kelowna commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in BC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
