“Jeanine was great with our little Marty. He is quite shy with separation anxiety. I used to worry leaving him at doggy day care, but I felt much better leaving him with Jeanine and Tegan. Jeanine has a large gated yard yet still went the extra mile to put up more barricades by her fence to make sure little 10 pound Marty couldn’t sneak out. We look forward to Marty spending more time with Jeanine and Tegan.”

“Absolutely thrilled with the dog sitting service! They took exceptional care of my furry friend while I was away. They provided regular updates and photos, which put my mind at ease. My dog returned home happy and well-exercised, and it was clear they received plenty of love and attention. Highly recommend Anothai for anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter! 5 stars!”

“Suzanne takes excellent care of Murphy! It’s evident she’s kind, patient and amazing with dogs. Murphy gets very excited when I drop her off in the morning before work. I know she’s in excellent hands with Suzanne.”

“Our puppy had an amazing time with Nancy! Nancy was extremely responsive and sent us updates throughout the day which we really appreciated. Our pup loved her so much she didn’t want to go! Would highly recommend using Nancy if you’re visiting Kelowna.”

About: I've been helping friends and family take care of their dogs when they are on vacation, with sometimes special instructions for their medication and the many times they need to walk or play. I bathe their pets and make sure I use the correct and appropriate food as per their owner's instructions. I absolutely love animals and cherish the way they provide pleasure in our lives. I work from home and have a very flexible schedule. On a usual day, I am able to walk the dog in the morning afternoon and the evening after work. I do love a casual walk at a beach or a park, even without the dog. It would fit into my schedule perfectly! Within my home, I have 2 cats who are very well behaved and don't mind other dogs. If the owner wishes, I can keep their pups away from the cats and near me in my home office and kitchen. Within the client's home, I will honor and respect their pet's habits (where they sleep, eat, play, toys they play with, etc.) Your pet will be treated like they are one of mine.
“Carla did an amazing job taking care of Dexter and Maya. They both seemed happy and relaxed after staying with her. She is great at communicating as well.. added bonus we got some great photos of the dogs. Thank you Carla!”

“Rhiannon was a star! She looked after my dog along with my parents two dogs (who had never stayed with a sitter before) on the day of my wedding. She picked them all up, dropped them off, and updated us during. She really went above and beyond, even bringing me flowers and a card! All three pups came back very happy. Would absolutely recommend to anyone!”

“Jutharat and her husband were amazing! Our fur baby couldn’t have been in better hands. They took her on a hike and she had some friends to keep her company. I would happily use their services again.”

“Aiden and Amy were amazing. They took such good care of my dog and were great at staying in communication so I knew he was in good hands. I highly recommend them to take care of your pet.”

“Nash had a great time playing at Darcy’s and is exhausted now ha ha. He always gets excited when we drive up to her place. She takes good care of Nash. Thank you Darcy!!”

“Lovely couple with big hearts. I gave them very little notice but they were quite accommodating and helped me when I was in a bind. For that I am truly grateful. Tucker was very tired when he came home so I know he played and played.”

About: I have had dogs my whole life and can’t imagine a life without them. I genuinely enjoy being around animals and love giving dogs attention, exercise, and companionship while their owners are busy. Spending time outdoors with dogs is something that naturally brings me joy. Flexible availability during weekdays and weekends. I run my own business, so I have the flexibility to create my own schedule and work around both client appointments and pet care needs. I’m very organized with my time and always make sure dogs get the attention, exercise, and consistency they deserve. I also have a dog of my own who gets lots of walks, exercise, and outdoor time daily, so caring for dogs is already a natural part of my lifestyle. I offer lots of love and attention. I love to play with dogs and take them for long walks, I think it’s super cute when they’re having the best time!
About: I have always grown up with dogs around- big and small. I now have my own puppy who loves to play and meet other dogs. Open to walking/looking after your dog separately or having them tag along on our adventures to get extra exercise. I currently have a position part time as a nurse. This gives me plenty of days off to schedule dog-sitting, hikes, etc. I’ve managed repeating weekly walks, overnight stays, and one-off adventures so reach out if you have any questions! I am responsible, clean, and caring. If staying in your home, I would follow care instructions and leave the place clean for when you return. Growing up with dogs I know how to keep them safe and controlled, while still letting them play and explore.
About: I have been a dog lover my entire life and because of that I have always been the go-to friend to ask to watch pets during time away! I have happily dog sat for everyone of my friends in my personal life so doing so for others is completely natural to me. I have years of dog sitting experience with various different breeds and sizes (as you can see from my photos). I started on Rover and had a few clients who I dog sat for quite frequently and i was actually able to delete Rover and solely dog sit based on word of mouth! I took a bit of a break from sitting in the last 6 months to be able to accomplish a few different things and now that I’m past that I am ready to take on more/new clients!! I’m so excited to get back into it. I currently work from home full-time. This allows me to easily accommodate potty schedules and lots of outside play time! Weekends are usually spent at home while taking some time out of the day to enjoy the city! Whether that's a hike, a beach trip, a bike ride, etc. I love to get outside in any way that dogs can join in on! I am comfortable with adapting to whatever care needs you normally supply your pet with! I will take caution in using the same training techniques that you do so as not to create bad habits in your pet. I have a huge yard that my puppy Kacey loves to run around in. Her favourite activity is soccer and we love spending time in the backyard together. Your pet is sure to get a ton of exercise in the yard with my puppy. Dogs are always supervised when they are in the back as the yard is not entirely fenced so decent recall is important to me for your pets.
“Rosie had the most amazing day with Mike and Finn! From the moment we met them we knew right away that she would be well cared for. We recieved pictures and updates throughout the day and she came home a tuckered pup. I've already booked another date and will continue using Mike going forward.”

“We were visiting from out of town and wanted to enjoy a dinner out. I felt very comfortable with Marylin and her communication. Stanley gets anxious without us but everything worked out since Marylin also has a doxie! I would recommend Marylin if you need a dog sitter. Thanks again!”

Rhiannon was a star! She looked after my dog along with my parents two dogs (who had never stayed with a sitter before) on the day of my wedding. Carla was amazing! She took great care of all three of our little kiddos and was very flexible with drop-off and pick-up times. We felt comfortable leaving them in her care and would definitely recommend her to others. We would happily book with her again! 🐾😊

Meghan is awesome! I was in town for film work and she was able to watch my doggo during the day. On the second morning we arrived at her place he was wagging his tail, super stoked to be there.. Can’t do much better than that! She was super helpful too, even drove him to me when my shift was running late. Will for sure be booking doggy daycare with her again!

Tip: Upload this information directly through the Rover app before drop-off. The more context you provide, the better your sitter can tailor the day to your dog.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Kelowna commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in BC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
