“It's not easy to leave your newly blind dog to anyone. Yet the minute my Summer met Kelene during Meet and Greet, she felt at ease immediately. Our dogs usually would tell us this kinda thing. During our week away, Kelene was fast responding message, and sent photos/videos (so good I wish she could send more!!! 💕). I love she took my little blind angel to places in town. Kelene also works from home which is a huge bonus for anyone who wants their fur babies to have max attention. Lastly, Kelene was flexible which was very appreciated since we were abroad. I'd highly recommend her.”

“So happy to have found Alicia. I was quite anxious about leaving my eight year-old doodle who has some separation anxiety issues but he did great. She sent me photos and he looked happy and relaxed. I will use her again for sure!”

“Marylin took care of my 50lb goldendoodle for over two weeks. When I picked him up, he was happy and healthy ❤️. She also sent me some pictures while I was away which I really appreciated. Thanks Marylin 😊”

“We couldn't be happier with the care Julia gave our dog while we were away! Leaving our pup at her house was so easy because she kept us updated the whole time with plenty of notes and photos. Our dog has medications that need to be given regularly, and Julia took care of it with zero issues. Our small dog also got along great with her big dog Blu, which was awesome to see. Julia genuinely cares about the dogs she watches and treats them like her own. We felt completely at ease and will definitely be reaching out to her again next time we travel. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a great pet sitter!”

About: Hello! I work from home so in an ideal situation to care for your fur baby! I have many years of experience caring for pets in our neighbourhood, pets of friends, and of course many pets growing up including cats, dogs, gerbils, hamsters, fish, and rabbits. In my home, we are a family of 4 with two daughters, twins age 12 years who love animals. We also have two cats of our own that are apart of our loving home. I will care for your fur baby like our own! As a mother who works from home I can be around for your pets needs for pretty much all day! I love to get outdoors every day, so your pet will have lots of time outside (if that's what is required). I will ensure your pets are safe and sound at all hours of the day in addition to feeling loved and cared for. Let me know any special care required and what your pet's likes and wants, and I will make sure they are taken care of!
About: Hello! I'm a lifelong animal-lover and pet-owner who has worked extensively with the Okanagan Humane Society, fostering many pets with a variety of temperments and personalities. Because of this experience, I'm very comfortable taking care of animals with unique needs and administering medication as needed. I currently do not have any pets of my own, allowing me time to dedicate to your furry family members! I have 15 years of experience housesitting/dogsitting and have received glowing reviews. I'm very flexible and attentive, wanting your pet's routine to stay as consistent as possible while you're away! Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions. I’m happy to schedule a meet and greet to ensure I’m the right fit for your dog’s needs! I work a 9-5 job from home, so I can be available for check-ins or short walks over my lunch hour. I have open availability evenings and weekends. I’m very flexible, please reach out if you have any questions! Pets are welcome to stay with me in my pet friendly apartment or I’m happy to work from your home and keep your pet company if you prefer. Because I work from home, I’m able to give your pet lots of attention and care while you’re away.
“Mike T took such amazing care of our two dogs, Rosey and Walter! He was incredibly kind, sent us lots of updates and photos, and it was such a relief knowing our fur babies were in such good hands while we were away. He gave extra love and attention to our playful Golden, who still acts like a puppy, and was so patient and gentle with our senior guy, who needs a little extra time to warm up. They got so much attention and so many walks that they came home totally tuckered out—which was perfect! We’re so grateful for Mike’s care and are already looking forward to booking with him again and again. Highly recommend!”

“Judith was such a great sitter for us leaving our Millie for a week for the first time. She was super easy to communicate with, has a lot of love for dogs, sent us some cute photos throughout and overall was great! I’d recommend Judith and her husband as dog sitters anytime! Thanks for taking such good care of Millie :)”

“Gail took great care of my dog - she sent photos and updates throughout my dog's stay with her. It was clear to me that she prioritized my dog's safety and that she enjoyed spending time with my dog.”

“I cannot say enough good things about Rhonda and Bill and the incredible care they provided for my dog through Rover! From the moment we met, we knew our pup was in excellent hands. Rhonda and Bill were warm, professional, and clearly true dog lovers. Rhonda sent regular updates, complete with adorable photos and detailed notes about our dog’s activities and overall mood. It made being away so much easier knowing our fur baby was not only being looked after but loved like part of the family. When we came home, our dog was relaxed, happy, and clearly had a great time. If you’re looking for a reliable, thoughtful, and genuinely caring dog sitter, look no further. Thanks, Rhonda and Bill.”

“Marvin and Bingo had the best time with Terri-Lynn. The meet and greet went wonderfully. My dogs were excited to see her when they came back to stay. I got frequent updates and lots of photos so I could see how they were doing. Communication was excellent. I could tell they were having a blast, getting a lot of exercise and attention! You can tell Terri and her family are “good vibes” as the dogs instantly felt comfy with them. I had complete peace of mind and got to pick up happy and tired dogs - the best kind :)”

“Melissa is warm and caring, and took great care of our dog while we were away. We enjoyed getting updates and photos to keep us posted, I would definitely bring our dog for another stay with Melissa and recommend her highly.”

About: I’ve been around animals my entire life and have experience caring for both dogs and cats of various ages, sizes, and personalities. Friends and family regularly trust me to care for their pets while they’re away, including feeding, walking, playtime, administering medications when needed, and keeping them on their normal routines. As a registered nurse, I’m responsible, attentive to detail, and comfortable following specific care instructions. I understand the importance of consistency, patience, and recognizing when a pet’s behaviour or needs may change. I’m also a pet owner myself and know that every animal deserves individualized care, plenty of affection, and a safe, loving environment. My goal is to make every pet feel comfortable and cared for while giving owners peace of mind through reliable communication and regular photo updates. I work 3-4 days per week as a registered nurse and am looking into fitting pet care into my schedule. I am available Thursdays, most Fridays, and weekends. I care for every pet as if they were my own by following their usual routine for feeding, walks, playtime, and rest. I prioritize safety, provide plenty of attention and exercise, and carefully follow any special instructions or medication schedules. I’ll also keep you updated with regular messages and photos so you can feel confident your pet is happy and well cared for.
“Lisa was truly amazing. She was kind, welcoming , so attentive to my little ones and just an overall joy to interact with. She kept me well updated with photos and videos and she did so shortly after drop off. I’m often very nervous leaving or trusting my dogs with anyone but she was definitely the best choice I could ever make!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Kelowna
Morgan and Kodi were absolutely amazing with Cedar! We had never really left her with anyone outside of family before, so I was a little nervous, especially being all the way across the ocean for a week. But we really needn’t have worried at all. They were both so kind, caring and sweet with her, and looked after her incredibly well. Cedar had a bit of a stomach ache while she was there, and Morgan kept me updated throughout and was so attentive. I also ended up having to extend my trip, and they were incredibly flexible and accommodating. Communication was fantastic, and I loved getting daily updates. Most importantly, Cedar clearly had a great time and really came out of her shell, which was so nice to see. It was very reassuring to know that she was happy and comfortable, especially being so far away. I honestly couldn’t have asked for someone better to look after Cedar. I’m so grateful to Morgan and Kodi for taking such wonderful care of her. I’d happily book with them again and would definitely recommend them! Thank you very much ☺️

Jeanine was fabulous and Murphy loved his stay with her. She was very attentive and spoiled him as was evident from the pictures she sent! We were so thankful that he was in such good hands while we were away for our daughter’s wedding! I really appreciated how well she communicated with us from our first contact right through to the very end of our visit.

Yolanda, you were amazing babysitter for Rex. I appreciate you putting Rex first while you were looking after him. You were a great dog sitter. Dealing with you Yolanda was incredible experience, you were kind, very Understanding, accepting to all my demands. It was pleasure dealing with you.

Skye and Nate were great and Pica had such a fun time! They were very communicative from the start and we're able to accommodate a last minute booking. They took Pica for lots of walks and even some runs. They sent me daily pictures which is always appreciated. I would definitely have them watch Pica again :)

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
