“Morgan provided excellent care to my dog Winston while we were away for the weekend. She sent plenty of photo updates, followed our instructions carefully, exercised Winston well above our expectations, and even hand fed him when he was reluctant to eat. I was able to relax in vacation knowing he was in great hands. We will be using her again!”

“Anothai and Mersad took great care of our senior dog. They sent plenty of pictures and videos and he looked like he was having a good time. We will definitely use again.”

“Jutharat and her husband were absolutely wonderful with our dog! She got to go on a hike, explore and play in their beautiful backyard, and spend time with their sweet dog Pippi, who was such a great companion. It was so nice knowing she had a friendly buddy to hang out with. We also really appreciated the updates and photos. It gave us so much peace of mind. Our pup came home happy. Thank you so much!”

“Amy was open, responsive and caring with our cocker spaniel. This was our dog’s first time staying away from home with a pet sitter and we were reassured by Amy’s love for dogs (she has two little ones of her own) and her understanding that communication between her and us meant a lot. We received a photo and message every day. Thank you, Amy.”

Julia was a fabulous sitter for our dog! She was very attentive and sent daily updates. Mugsy got along great with her dog Blu as well…I think he was secretly sad he had to leave! Glad to know we found a reliable, friendly and accommodating fur baby friend. Many thanks to Julia, Jason and Blu…Mugsy misses you!! We will definitely rebook with Julia in future! 🐶🐾🦴

Morgan and Kodi were absolutely amazing with Cedar! We had never really left her with anyone outside of family before, so I was a little nervous, especially being all the way across the ocean for a week. But we really needn’t have worried at all. They were both so kind, caring and sweet with her, and looked after her incredibly well. Cedar had a bit of a stomach ache while she was there, and Morgan kept me updated throughout and was so attentive. I also ended up having to extend my trip, and they were incredibly flexible and accommodating. Communication was fantastic, and I loved getting daily updates. Most importantly, Cedar clearly had a great time and really came out of her shell, which was so nice to see. It was very reassuring to know that she was happy and comfortable, especially being so far away. I honestly couldn’t have asked for someone better to look after Cedar. I’m so grateful to Morgan and Kodi for taking such wonderful care of her. I’d happily book with them again and would definitely recommend them! Thank you very much ☺️

Skye and Nate were great and Pica had such a fun time! They were very communicative from the start and we're able to accommodate a last minute booking. They took Pica for lots of walks and even some runs. They sent me daily pictures which is always appreciated. I would definitely have them watch Pica again :)

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
