“Jeanine is a jewel. We feel so fortunate to have found her. Our 2 year dog had never been away from us, and has a few behavioural issues. Jeanine was so patient and kind with him. She provided us with daily updates on his socialization progress. We were always kept in the loop with photos and videos. It made us feel so assured to see him come out from hiding under her table to actually playing with her dog in the yard. The whole experience, for us, was a complete success. Thank you, Jeanine. With gratitude, Diane and Johann”

“Morgan provided excellent care to my dog Winston while we were away for the weekend. She sent plenty of photo updates, followed our instructions carefully, exercised Winston well above our expectations, and even hand fed him when he was reluctant to eat. I was able to relax in vacation knowing he was in great hands. We will be using her again!”

“Jutharet and her husband took our dog on very short notice as we had to make an emergency medical trip. They took excellent care of him, had lots of space for him to run around outside, and sent me updates along the way. Thanks SO much!!”

“Rex always comes home so content after a weekend with Anothai and Mersad. They always communicate and send lots of photos and videos. We appreciate them so much.”

“Kelene cared for our 9 year old Sheltie and did an amazing job with good communication and pictures while we were away! Highly recommended and will contact her for pooch care in the future!”

About: I completed professional training in dog handling and have owned and cared for two dogs, one during my childhood and one currently. I also have experience walking and managing different dogs. My passion for dogs and commitment to their well-being make me an excellent choice for pet care. With my child at daycare from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays, I have a flexible window to dedicate to pet care. At evenings I’m also available if you need. So I’m very flexible. I can easily fit in dog walking, feeding, and playtime visits. My routine allows me to provide attentive, consistent care, making sure pets are happy. When caring for dogs in their own homes, I follow the owner’s specific instructions to ensure their pets feel comfortable and cared for. I’m flexible and attentive to each dog’s needs, whether it’s feeding, playing, or relaxing. I also offer off-leash walks in nearby parks for extra exercise and enjoyment, providing a safe and happy experience.
“Chalan & Joel and their two lovely daughters took amazing care of our doggie Gem in their beautiful home. Gem has a hind leg injury requiring special care and she was given just that. They sent beautiful pictures of our happy pup throughout her visit and were always communicative with updates. We can’t recommend them enough! A lovely family that treats your dog as one of their own is all any pet owner can hope for and that is exactly what we got.”

“I cannot recommend Joe and Tina enough! Pastor (my dog) stayed with them for 10 days while I was on vacation, and they treated him like family. Their home is beautiful, and their large, fully fenced yard is a dream for any dog. They sent frequent updates and lots of photos, took him on walks, and really paid attention to all his needs. Pastor looked so happy and comfortable the whole time. Joe and Tina are incredibly kind, responsible, and attentive, and they made my trip completely stress-free. I’d leave my dog with them again anytime!”

“If I could give Cielo 10 stars I would. She was absolutely wonderful. This was my second time using rover and she put my anxiety to rest. Blue had a blast and was sad to leave his new friend. I will definitely be a repeat client. Thanks again.”

“Thank you Bryden & Colleen for looking after our fur babies while we got married in Lake Country. You are clearly both animal lovers through and through and I’m pretty sure it must be your calm demeanor and energy you give to the dogs that keep them calm during the time away from their family. Thank you for the pictures and updates while the dogs were in your home. We would absolutely call you again if we make it back to the area. Thank you!!! Love Chico and Murphy ??”

“Wow. Mike is the most amazing dog sitter I have ever met. He genuinely loves dogs and is so passionate about caring for dogs. I’m pretty sure Travis already can’t wait to go back.”

“Carla was great with Loki & Luna. She kept us updated everyday with pictures. Pups had a great time. Would book her again! We were late for pick up due to three airplane flight delays and she was flexible/accommodating.”

About: We had a beautiful Golden Retriever 2013-2025 who went everywhere with me and was never left alone. I loved being with him, caring for him and other friends pets, walking, brushing, veterinary drop offs and collections as well as caring for elderly dogs too. I love all dogs. Will be with the dogs all day in my home and we have beautiful trails right at our doorstep for quick walks or longer hikes. Happy to be slower if dogs are older or small or longer if they have lots of energy. I work from home so pets would never be left alone, I have set up my work to fit in with caring for our own pet as a priority. Have looked after our own dog and walked 4-5 times daily with shorter potty breaks and longer excercise trips for 12 years. I have no fenced yard but have a provincial park and walking trails directly at my door so walking is never a problem. My own golden retriever will go outside for a variety of mini walks and a longer walk daily or we can take the car to other parks if requested.
“Alicia was great. She met with us ahead of time to see if she would be a good fit with our dog rosie. And she was. We felt very comfortable leaving Rosie with her and Alicia sent us regular updates and pictures.”

My little nervous Shih Tzu has been in many daycares, has had many sitters over her 3 1/2 years on earth and never have I seen her happier and more content with anyone like she has been with Jeanine and her little Pom Teigan. This is a gem of an option in Kelowna, she has instantly made my life as a single dog owner manageable. Her care is worth every penny. I feel totally safe when I drop my little baby off. She has the biggest yard to play in, Jeanine's home is spotless, warm and welcoming. She is a great person!

This was our third time leaving Sassy with Pippa, and once again she provided exceptional care. Pippa is a wonderful dog sitter who genuinely loves and understands dogs. She keeps us updated, and we always know that Sassy is safe, happy, and well cared for. When Sassy is with Pippa, we can truly relax and enjoy our vacation with complete peace of mind. We are so grateful to have found someone we trust so much with our dog. We highly recommend Pippa to anyone looking for a caring, reliable, and professional pet sitter.Thank you, Pippa!

She sent plenty of photo updates, followed our instructions carefully, exercised Winston well above our expectations, and even hand fed him when he was reluctant to eat. Anna took amazing care of Frijolito while we were away. She constantly sent us photos and fun videos of him, and in every single one he looked happy, relaxed, and completely at ease. It was clear she cared for him as if he were her own. That gave us so much peace of mind knowing he was not only being well cared for, but also truly enjoying his time with her. We are incredibly grateful for her attention, kindness, and dedication. I highly recommend Anna to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and loving to care for their pet. We would absolutely choose her again without hesitation! Thanks Anna! 🫶

Having never done this sort of thing before,Jeremy did a wonderful job looking after our dog, Joey! He did all the things to make Joey feel very comfortable in his home for two weeks. If we ever go anywhere again, we will certainly choose Jeremy, if he’s available, to look after Joey. We visited a couple of times before our trip and Joey felt very comfortable with Jeremy and his wife.
Nancy did a great job looking after Lucy. She sent regular updates and pictures and videos. Lucy was very calm when I picked her up and enjoyed playing with Nancy’s other dogs. I highly recommend Nancy soft and caring manner. I hope to use Nancy’s dogsitting services again soon.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Kelowna home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favourite hang-out spots in your Kelowna
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
