“Once again Carol G as done a fantastic job looking after Gus our 4lb Yorki. this is Carol the second time for 2 weeks at each time. Gus had a great time at Carols house. Carol keeps you updated on how Gus pretty much daily it helps us to settle into our trip with having no worries on how Gus is doing. Her 2 dashounds and Gus have lots of fun together. Carol will always be our first call when we book another holiday. Book Carol and you we be as relax as we were. Thank Carol for a perfect holiday. Brent Judy and Gus.”

“I was hesitant to leave my pup with someone I didnt know however Candice helped Tex fit right into her family/pack. Her relaxed demeanor, large back yard for the pups to play and clear, timely communication all contributed to my decision in leaving Tex at her place. I will definitely be using her in the future if we need a place to stay for Tex!! Absolutely recommend this stay!”

“10/10! Would definitely recommend & plan to repeat! Joseph & Tina took Zano into their home and showed him so much love & care. It was very evident on pick up that he was confortable and happy with them. They have a safe & fabulous set up with a large, fenced yard. Zano had ample outside time & came home tired. Joe & Tina were excellent! We felt well taken care of from their communication prior to drop off, during Zano's stay & at pick up. They went above & beyond expectations showing the highest regard for ours & Zano's needs, wishes & house rules. They were so considerate, friendly & respectful - I truly have no constructive feedback whatsoever & would 100% recommend.”

“Had a terrific experience with Jackie!! Very warm, welcoming and at ease with our dog. Our dog quickly warmed up to her (and her dog) and seemed right at home . Couldn’t have asked for a better experience! She went on long walks and was treated like a queen :)) Thanks so much, Jackie!!”

“Cassie and her family are wonderful, caring people who will take good care of your dog! She has looked after my 9 year old Dutch Shepherd and my 4 month old pup. I would definitely recommend Cassie for all doggie care.”

“Gail was excellent. Met with her beforehand to get an idea of the layout to see if my senior boy-Harley would fit in at her home. Harley loved his companionship with her two little dogs. I felt very comfortable leaving him there. It’s good knowing he has a place to go to where he’s comfortable. Gail sent me pictures and was very communicative on how he was doing while he was in her care. I highly recommend Gail.”

About: I have had a dog in my life since I was 6 years old, that is 57 years of knowing the joy of dogs. I've raised them from puppies, rescued them from the street, cared for them in their old age and through sickness. I have held them all as they have left this world, and gazed into their eyes as they took their last breath so they knew I was there and to not be afraid. I have always considered them my family and treated them as such. I am the person that sits with the dog at house parties. I know that dogs feel safe in my presence as they have the gift of sensing who is a kind human being. I am excited about walking and running with the young dogs, and excited to sit and cuddle with the old. They are welcome in my home, on my couch, on the bed. I work from home, part time, and will always be available for your dog throughout the day and night! They will be welcome to sit beside me in my office on a dog bed, or lounge around anywhere else in my home. My home is very dog friendly. I have two large decks that overlook the forest where they can comfortably lounge in the sun. The can rest in front of my warm gas fireplace on a dog bed in the colder months. I have trails and park right behind my house that I would love to take your dog for walks along. They are welcome to sit on my couches, or hop up on my bed.
“Brianne was wonderful taking care of my puppy for three nights. She gave updates everyday and was able to spend one on one time with her everyday. It was Harleys first time away from me and she had a great experience! I don’t hesitate to recommend Brianne for anyone’s fur babies ❤️”

“Teresa, treated Coltrane like part of the family. She kept us updated with pictures of their hikes, dog play and big sleeps. Coltrane returned to us happy and settled. She put our hearts at ease.”

“Vanessa was absolutely amazing! From the start, she was great to communicate with - responsive, friendly, and clearly experienced. She provided updates while I was away, which made me feel completely at ease about being out of the province. Knowing that my dog Maya was in such good hands made all the difference. Maya had the best time - she even got to go to work with Vanessa, which she loved (she’s all about the attention!). I could tell she was being cared for and spoiled just like she would be at home. I wouldn’t hesitate to book with Vanessa again. Highly recommend!”

“Lisa was truly amazing. She was kind, welcoming , so attentive to my little ones and just an overall joy to interact with. She kept me well updated with photos and videos and she did so shortly after drop off. I’m often very nervous leaving or trusting my dogs with anyone but she was definitely the best choice I could ever make!”

“We loved having Sarah here to look after our cat Hannie. When we got home Hannie was very happy and Sarah kept the house spotless. She really bonded with Hannie and we are so grateful to her for looking after our beloved pet for us for the Easter weekend. I .Highly recommend her to anyone who needs somebody who’s really loving to look after their beloved cat.”

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Okanagan home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favourite hang-out spots in your Okanagan
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
