“Katrina was wonderful with my dog Rusty. She took him for walks and provided regular updates and photos of how he was doing. I will seek out Katrina’s services again to watch my big dog.”

“Gina and her family were absolutely amazing! From the moment I contacted her, she was very accomodating and helpful in making sure my anxious dog had a great experience during his stay with her. Gina arranged a meeting and playdate prior to Tino's stay to ensure he'd be comfortable at their home and by the time it came for me to drop him off for his stay... He was so comfortable being there that he took off to play and didn't even notice me leave! I highly recommend Gina if you need someone to look after your dog who treats them like their own. Thank you again!”

“Thanks Carol for making Sadi feel comfortable in your home for the first time , we appreciate the extra cuddles and taking her to the grass for her to do her business”

“10/10! Would definitely recommend & plan to repeat! Joseph & Tina took Zano into their home and showed him so much love & care. It was very evident on pick up that he was confortable and happy with them. They have a safe & fabulous set up with a large, fenced yard. Zano had ample outside time & came home tired. Joe & Tina were excellent! We felt well taken care of from their communication prior to drop off, during Zano's stay & at pick up. They went above & beyond expectations showing the highest regard for ours & Zano's needs, wishes & house rules. They were so considerate, friendly & respectful - I truly have no constructive feedback whatsoever & would 100% recommend.”

About: I ended up with a rescue 9 month old pup that was not potty or crate trained and had great separation anxiety issues. And this, my journey began as a pac leader that had to win the trust of my dog . In the past my family always had dogs as well . I work part time from home and get to choose my own hours. I have lots of time and energy for working with your dog I have a dog and a cat and a fenced yard . I have a crate as well, as well as puppy proofed house with no cords or socks lying around. I have chew toys galore to challenge your dog I am home most days and will be taking your dog to run errands with me if I leave in order to socialize the doggy unless otherwise stated I care for the pet like it is my own: I feed them, train them, play with them, snuggle with them. I give them baths if needed, and groom them daily if the dog likes being combed.
“Jackie was absolutely incredible with our GSP, who has very high energy levels. She took him on long hikes and spoiled him with love and attention. She went way above and beyond what any other dog sitter would have done and we highly recommend Jackie for taking care of your fur babies!”

“Cassie was amazing. We got regular updates on our dog. The kids were so good with our dog as well. They treated our dog like he was a part of their family. Cassie is super responsive and lovely.”

About: Dog owner of 13 years. Have offered dog sitting services for dogs from one years old to senior. My dog has recently passed away and I am looking to have some dog energy in my life. I look forward and am happy to have a visitor join me at my house or go for a walk at one of the local trails. I currently work from home Monday to Friday. I am available for dog walking early morning or afternoons as well as weekends. If joining in my home, your pet would not be alone and could have frequent outside time in our fenced yard. I have a fenced yard and a dog friendly home. Dogs are welcome and safe in any room. I live in a walk friendly neighborhood close to trails.

“Gail was amazing and her home was perfect for our two dogs. We never had to worry for one second while we were on holiday. She even sent pictures and notes to update us after they had their first days with her. I highly recommend her.”

“Brianne was wonderful taking care of my puppy for three nights. She gave updates everyday and was able to spend one on one time with her everyday. It was Harleys first time away from me and she had a great experience! I don’t hesitate to recommend Brianne for anyone’s fur babies ❤️”

“Teresa, treated Coltrane like part of the family. She kept us updated with pictures of their hikes, dog play and big sleeps. Coltrane returned to us happy and settled. She put our hearts at ease.”

“This was my first time using Rover and I was very pleased. Tanya was very friendly and made me feel good leaving Finn. Looking at the photos I can see that Finn felt right at home!!! Finn will be visiting Tanya and Smith again!!”

“Lisa was truly amazing. She was kind, welcoming , so attentive to my little ones and just an overall joy to interact with. She kept me well updated with photos and videos and she did so shortly after drop off. “We recently eloped to Banff and wanted a safe place for our dog to spend while we got married. Tamara made sure Rawrey was taken care of and provided updates and pictures throughout the day/night. She also came straight to our hotel to pick her up which made it so convenient and accomodating. Would highly recommend her. :)”

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Okanagan home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favourite hang-out spots in your Okanagan
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
