About: I ended up with a rescue 9 month old pup that was not potty or crate trained and had great separation anxiety issues. And this, my journey began as a pac leader that had to win the trust of my dog . In the past my family always had dogs as well . I work part time from home and get to choose my own hours. I have lots of time and energy for working with your dog I have a dog and a cat and a fenced yard . I have a crate as well, as well as puppy proofed house with no cords or socks lying around. I have chew toys galore to challenge your dog I am home most days and will be taking your dog to run errands with me if I leave in order to socialize the doggy unless otherwise stated I care for the pet like it is my own: I feed them, train them, play with them, snuggle with them. I give them baths if needed, and groom them daily if the dog likes being combed.
“Marcella was fantastic! She took my little dog on short notice and I felt comfortable with her right away. Her home is beautiful, welcoming, and clearly set up with dogs in mind. Her dog Winston is incredibly sweet and friendly, and was great with my little guy from the moment they met. It’s obvious she genuinely loves dogs and has lots of experience with them. I wouldn’t hesitate to leave my pup with her again and will definitely be using her services in the future.”

About: Hello, my name is Teresa and I'm dog walker who is Walks and Wags Certified with Pet First Aid. I've also taken International Academy of Canine Trainers Certified Professional Dog Walker program. I'm an animal lover and have had pets all of my life. I especially love dogs of all shapes and sizes and am looking forward to taking care of your dog either as a dog walker or just for home visits to play and make sure that he/she is fine while you are at work. I'm happy to visit both young puppers and more senior doggos - as we all know your dog is the 'best dog ever' and I'm happy to treat your dog like my own! Looking forward to meeting you and your pet! I work remotely so am happy to have your dog as company to my own two fur babies! My yard is fenced so there is no fear for them to run in our backyard. I allow pets on furniture but do make sure that their paws are clean and that they do not rough house in the house. As I am working at home I can monitor them as well.

About: Hello! I’m Alexandra. I am a lifelong animal lover with experience caring for dogs, cats, rabbits, and other small pets. I bring a calm, reliable approach to pet sitting, along with a background in both medical and behavioral care that allows me to support pets with a wide range of needs. Over the years, I’ve raised, minded, trained, and cared for everything from bouncy puppies, cantankerous cats, to fragile senior pets. I am skilled in administering subcutaneous fluids, injections, and oral medications, and I’ve supported paralyzed animals with their daily hygiene and comfort. I have also provided end-of-life care with gentleness and compassion, ensuring that pets feel safe and loved at every stage of life. As a rescue advocate, I have worked with a variety of animals experiencing anxiety, reactivity, and high energy. I always focus on patience, structure, and positive engagement. I strive to pay close attention to body language and subtle signals, which helps me to connect with pets who may be shy, nervous, or misunderstood. Aside from medical or behavioral needs, I believe in the little things like walks at the right pace, enrichment that keeps pets interested and engaged, and those quiet moments of affection that help them feel secure. Every animal has their own personality, and I love tailoring my care so they can truly thrive. My time is flexible at the moment and I am willing work around your specific schedules and needs. I look forward to building strong bonds and long term relationships with you and your pets! Day Care Services: Walks, hikes, dog park trips, and vet visits — always tailored to each dog’s needs and energy level. I can be with your dog one-on-one or provide company and play time by bringing along my dog Molly. Molly is gentle and patient with puppies and has a consistent temperment. She is more likely to meander companiably or parallel play than she is to tussle so is the perfect companion for your senior pup or your more reactive dog that needs positive experiences with other dogs. In-Home Care (Dogs): Offered only once I’ve built a relationship and know the dog is safe with my cats and rabbits. In-Home Care (Small Pets): Rabbits or other small animals welcome for day care/overnights if penned. Outdoor Safety: Backyard is enclosed but not fully secure at the back — all outdoor time is supervised. Front yard is unfenced, so dogs are always leashed.

About: I am a pet owner and I foster for a rescue local to the Shuswap area. I specialize in large breed dogs however I love all animals regardless of breed or size. Being local to the Shuswap I know where a lot of our local walking trails are and different neighborhood routes are and can walk according to what your fur baby needs. I work full time in the community and very close to my house, so even when I am not home I am able to run home and let the dogs out for potty breaks or other needs. Because I am a foster for our local animal rescue if an animal is to come into our home I need to guarantee that they are up to date on vaccinations and fixed. This is to protect any fosters and your furry friend. Otherwise I will be happy to care for your animals in other environments

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Okanagan commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in BC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines such as the DHPP or DA2PP, Rabies, and Bordetella.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
