“I needed last minute care for my Tilly while I went camping and Gina was as able to help me out. Gina was friendly and kind. I had lots of updates on how Tilly was making out with her new friends. The best part is that after picking up she was tuckered out and slept the whole ferry ride back to Van Island! Thank you Gina and family for the excellent care!”

“Katrina was so wonderful with our puppy Oggie we got lots of photos and updates through the day and came back to a very happy puppy. I would definitely recommend Katrina and would happily book them again!”

“Teresa, treated Coltrane like part of the family. She kept us updated with pictures of their hikes, dog play and big sleeps. Coltrane returned to us happy and settled. She put our hearts at ease.”

“Vanessa did a fabulous job when we were away. She sent us updates and pictures, which we very much enjoyed and appreciated. Vanessa maintained our dog's routine as requested and we came home to two very happy well looked after dogs. We would highly recommend Vanessa to provide care for your loved ones.”

“My dog D’ Vinci took to Paul right away. It was like, but they were friends before he was even out of the car. Paul payed attention to all his “frenchie” needs. Communication was great and my baby was happy when I picked him up. I will most certainly re book!”

About: Our daughter would like to take the lead. She is new to pet sitting but has a way with all animals. Mom has dog and cat sitting experience from before kids and also had a dog growing up. We are mostly available for weekend jobs. With notice we can usually work a Monday or Friday in. We are open to weekday stays but we work out of the house so it’s a long day for the animals in the house. We have a fenced yard and are open to crate trained or free range animals. Your animals will become part of our family during their stay.
“Brianne was wonderful taking care of my puppy for three nights. She gave updates everyday and was able to spend one on one time with her everyday. It was Harleys first time away from me and she had a great experience! I don’t hesitate to recommend Brianne for anyone’s fur babies ❤️”

“Tamara did a great job with Fitz and kept me updated while on my trip. Very accommodating and gave him a lot of love! Made it easier to enjoy the trip and now know someone in the area who can watch him! Thanks again, Tamara!”

“We loved having Sarah here to look after our cat Hannie. When we got home Hannie was very happy and Sarah kept the house spotless. She really bonded with Hannie and we are so grateful to her for looking after our beloved pet for us for the Easter weekend. I .Highly recommend her to anyone who needs somebody who’s really loving to look after their beloved cat.”

About: I’m a born a dog lover 🐾 How much dogs mean to us? They’re more than dogs, they’re family members. I know how difficult it can be to find a safe and caring sitter, that’s where I come in :) My schedule is quite flexible right now and I am working mostly from my computer 3 days a week 9-5 at most. I’ve been really enjoying using Rover to make a bit of extra income in the side while I help my Mom with her farm & market business venture. That being said I might not always be available when you want me :( send me a message to see if I can help you out. 🐾 I take any special instructions seriously. I will only feed them what and when you’d like. I will socialize how much or how little you want them socialized. I generally only take one dog or one family at a time to ensure the most personalized care. Special circumstances I can take 2 dogs or 2 different families pets at a time. This is a farmstead and there are other dogs that live nearby but everyone gets along and is up to date vaccinated 🐾

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
