“It was the first time that Cola stayed with Gina and her family, and we will definitely make use of her service again. We were kept up to date with how Cola was doing and received daily photos. Cola made herself very comfortable and she received the love and care which she normally does at home. Thank you Gina (and family) for taking such good care of her, and for making our time away more relaxed.”
“Katrina was so wonderful with our puppy Oggie we got lots of photos and updates through the day and came back to a very happy puppy. I would definitely recommend Katrina and would happily book them again!”

“Teresa was the best sitting for my dog! This is our second time having Teresa and she does the extras. Our dog recognized her place when we arrived and was very excited to be there. We are looking forward to our next visit.”

“I cannot recommend Joe and Tina enough! Pastor (my dog) stayed with them for 10 days while I was on vacation, and they treated him like family. Their home is beautiful, and their large, fully fenced yard is a dream for any dog. They sent frequent updates and lots of photos, took him on walks, and really paid attention to all his needs. Pastor looked so happy and comfortable the whole time. Joe and Tina are incredibly kind, responsible, and attentive, and they made my trip completely stress-free. I’d leave my dog with them again anytime!”

“Gail was excellent. Met with her beforehand to get an idea of the layout to see if my senior boy-Harley would fit in at her home. Harley loved his companionship with her two little dogs. I felt very comfortable leaving him there. It’s good knowing he has a place to go to where he’s comfortable. Gail sent me pictures and was very communicative on how he was doing while he was in her care. I highly recommend Gail.”

About: Our daughter would like to take the lead. She is new to pet sitting but has a way with all animals. Mom has dog and cat sitting experience from before kids and also had a dog growing up. We are mostly available for weekend jobs. With notice we can usually work a Monday or Friday in. We are open to weekday stays but we work out of the house so it’s a long day for the animals in the house. We have a fenced yard and are open to crate trained or free range animals. Your animals will become part of our family during their stay.
About: I’ve always had a natural love for animals and have experience caring for pets of all shapes, sizes, and personalities. From playful pups to cuddly cats, I understand that every pet has their own unique needs and routines. I’m dedicated to providing safe, loving, and reliable care so your furry family members feel happy and comfortable while you’re away. I have a flexible schedule and am available any weekday! A few days a week I work either an 11 AM–4 PM shift or a 4 PM–10 PM shift, but outside of those hours I’m completely free and happy to provide care, walks, check-ins, and lots of attention for your pets. I’m always happy to work around your pet’s routine and needs! I care for every pet as if they were my own, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. In a client’s home, I focus on keeping their routine as normal as possible following feeding schedules, providing walks and playtime, giving lots of attention and affection, and keeping their space clean and comfortable. I’m happy to provide updates and photos so you can have peace of mind knowing your furry family member is happy and well cared for.
“Lisa was truly amazing. She was kind, welcoming , so attentive to my little ones and just an overall joy to interact with. She kept me well updated with photos and videos and she did so shortly after drop off. I’m often very nervous leaving or trusting my dogs with anyone but she was definitely the best choice I could ever make!”

“Vanessa was amazing with our large dog (Rottweiler)! She was great at introducing all of her other pets to our dog, who can take a bit to warm up to other animals. Her space is also great for larger dogs. We will be using Vanessa in the future, and recommend others to as well!”

“Tamara did an excellent job of taking care of my dog. My dog is aggressive towards other dogs which can be challenging. Tamara had no problems with managing him and I am really grateful. I would definitely recommend Tamara and I know my dog would be very happy to be in her care again.”

“Wesley had an amazing time with Audrey and Alex! They sent me pictures every day, and told me what they were up to which was very nice. It seems like they took him everywhere! When I picked him up he was happy and relaxed. They are also lovely to coordinate with and very accommodating. I would definitely ask them to take care of Wesley again! Thank you guys!”

“We loved having Sarah here to look after our cat Hannie. When we got home Hannie was very happy and Sarah kept the house spotless. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
