Fully Trained Elder Dog Sitter!

*****Please read all the way to the end before messaging me****** I have over 14 years of combined experience in pet and house sitting. My dog passed away recently, so please be patient with me: ****Dogs 5 years old and up, and Senior dogs preferred***** I want to be very clear that I am a dog sitter not a trainer. I do not watch dogs who are not fully house trained, have major separation anxiety, stress accidents, don't sleep through the night, who are in the teething/chewing phase, or have been aggressive and bitten dogs or people in the past. Trainers do exist out there, they charge a lot more money, and I am not one of them. If you have never left your dog with a stranger before, I am not your sitter***** Just because they behave well at home or at Grandma's house doesn't mean they won't be anxious at a new sitters house. What I do provide is the following: My main services involve providing food and water, brushing, taking pets to vet appointments, administering medicine, taking dogs out for a walk, and providing companionship. I only accept 1 or 2 dogs at a time, so that I can give great care! I often go for hikes and will bring the able dogs with me. (Please have dogs treated against fleas and ticks), and I also take those who are able to the dog parks. For senior dogs who prefer to be walked shorter distances, I bring them on a leash around the block. Prior to each dog sit, I always like to receive a full brief from the owners with a specific focus on the pet behavior and requirements. While on duty, I regularly take photos and videos of your dog(s) and share them upon request. You deserve a holiday, and your pet also, and I love to spoil them! Please bring your fur baby over clean with trimmed nails, a crate that is a proper size for your dog, also please wash their bed cover before coming over. I have had a fair few clients that bring their pet to me dirty, matted, and their bed is not clean, and as much as I love them I don't want dirty beds and dogs in my home. Thank-you for understanding. I am working full time from home so I will have lots of time to play and walk you dog that I board! I am home 7 days a week currently. Please respect my work schedule and appointments do vary, so meet and greets may also need to vary. I have a fenced yard in a townhouse downtown in Kelowna. I care for them by feeding and walking them twice a day. I have lots of flexibility in my schedule to attend to dogs needs. I require that all dogs are well groomed and flea and tick treated before staying at my place for the safety of my home, and other dogs. I do occasionally have to step out, so if your dog has major separation anxiety and barks a lot then I am not the right fit. Please read the rover guarantee in full. If your dog bites any other dog in my care and I have to take them to the vet then I will hold you responsible for the first $250 dollars rover does not cover. You will also be responsible for the claims process. If you are not a responsible pet parent, and willing and able to take responsibility for any damage your dog causes, please do not book with me.

This was my first experience using Rover and I feel like I hit the jackpot when Courtney accepted my booking. My 2 dogs were well loved, cared for and pampered with their stay at Courtney’s. I can tell, not just because of the daily photos and updates, but also because my boys came home relaxed, calm and anxiety free. I usually board them at a kennel and when they return they are clingy and overly hyper. Upon return from Courtney’s they have been angels- not even mooching in the kitchen as they usually do at home. I recommend Courtney to anyone looking and look forward to booking with her again when she is available.

Doggy Day Care • Jun 23, 2025

I'm on a Kelowna trip from Vancouver, and we had to visit places that don't allow dogs. Since we'd checked out of our pet-friendly hotel and local pet hotels were closed for weekend daycare, I was in a bind. I tried Rover for the first time and was desperate for help. Out of 10 requests, Courney was the lucky responder! She took Hugo on short notice, kept me updated, and gave me peace of mind. I could enjoy my trip knowing Hugo was safe and well cared for. Highly recommend Courney – she's great with dogs!! 🐾❤️

Courtney was awesome with willow. She kept me updated, was very communicative and put me at ease during the whole stay. She followed my care instructions perfectly. So excited to of found a sitter I can trust with my girl when I go away.

Drop-In Visits • Jun 20, 2025

I can’t say enough good things about Courtney, they took amazing care of my cat while I was away. They were reliable, attentive, and treated my kitty like their own. I came home to a happy, relaxed cat, clean litter, and everything just how I left it. Courtney kept me updated with messages and photos, which really gave me peace of mind. I wouldn’t hesitate to ask them again and absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter

Schedule

I take them out on walks and give them lots of cuddles. I prefer dogs who are 5 years old and older. Seniors are my favourite since I had a senior rescue for a long time.

Where your pet will stay

Home characteristics

Lives in a house
Has a fenced yard
Non-smoking household
Has no pets
No children present
Dogs allowed on bed
Dogs allowed on furniture
Potty breaks every 4-8 hours

Safety, trust & environment

I have a fully fenced yard and my house is dog proofed. All food and treats are kept out of reach, and I make safety a priority.

A typical day

I often like to go for hikes up Knox with those dogs who are able. I also like taking them to the dog park, and throwing the ball for them in the yard.

0 to 15 lbs
16 to 40 lbs
41 to 100 lbs
Dogs over 1 year old
Spayed and neutered dogs only
No females in heat
Courtney can host up to 3 pets per night
I would like to know their behaviours, when they eat, when they take medications, if they prefer to have a crate or their own bed. How do they like to play, and if they are good with other dogs, and potty trained is an absolute must, no anxious accident dogs allowed. I usually do not sit dogs under 5 years old because of the damage some have caused to my house, so if you have a younger dog they must be well trained and past the chewing stage and must sleep through the night.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
