Jake’s the kind of person animals seem to trust right away. There’s a calm, steady way about him, he doesn’t rush them, doesn’t overwhelm them, just lets them come to him on their own terms. Whether it’s a nervous rescue dog or a stray cat that’s wary of people, Jake has this natural patience that puts them at ease. He notices the little things too; when an animal’s acting off, needs space, or just wants a bit of attention and he always responds with care and understanding. What really stands out is how seriously he takes responsibility for their well-being. It’s not just about feeding or walking them; Jake makes sure they’re comfortable, healthy, and genuinely happy. He’ll go out of his way to learn what they need, adjust routines, or spend extra time making sure they’re okay. You can tell it’s not an obligation for him, it’s something he genuinely cares about. Being around Jake, it’s obvious that animals aren’t just pets to him, they’re companions, and he treats them with the respect and kindness they deserve.

Jakob has a genuine loving nature. Animals are drawn to him and sense this about him. He is naturally at peace with them so being a pet caregiver is an intrinsic part of who he is as a sensitive, empathic human. He has worked at a dog kennel/boarding facility, been a pet owner most of his life, and volunteered at an animal rescue in Calgary so has an excellent understanding of what is involved in caring for animals. I believe it genuinely feeds his soul and because of this he would be an excellent fit for Rover.
