I care for pets in their home by making sure I am familiar with the routine they are used to. I respect my clients home and make sure I am clear in expectations. I make sure that their pets are cared for in a way that exceeds expectations. I understand the stress of travelling and having to leave your pet behind, and I want to make sure that my clients do not have to worry one bit and can focus on their vacation!

Ahead of time I would like to know specific dietary requirements and their personality so I can better tailor my pet sitting to suit them. If you want me to keep training up on walks with your dog I want to know the specifics so that I don't cause any back tracking with their progress. Or if your cat can only eat it's dinner if you pretend to make it a 5 star meal by taking it out the oven and fake chopping. Any and all quirks are what I would look for before I my first pet sitting.
A typical day
I am comfortable walking dogs around Kelowna and if you would prefer driving with them to quieter locations if they needed space from other pups. I would also be happy to make up enrichment toys and games for your dogs if it's to hot outside for a walk so that they aren't bored and still tired at the end of the day. When checking in on your cats I will make sure to not only feed them and clean the litter box, but play with them and make sure they are getting the attention and stimulation they need!

Pet care experience
I have always loved dogs and any chance I could get to spend time with them I took. I helped my family walk their dogs whenever I could. Sometimes I would walk my neighbours samoyed. I rented a place for 2 years and would look after my landlady's dogs while she was on vacation, walking them, feeding them, playing with them, and letting them out regularly for bathroom breaks. I also volunteered at my local SPCA while in school.

Anika was one of me tennents and would frequently help me look after my elderly cat and three dogs. She was happy to baby sit my new puppy even after he just had an operation and was a bit of a handful trying to escape his playpen and the cone. Anika would always be willing to help me out when I got called into long shifts at work by letting the dogs out in the garden and giving them their Kong's. And sometimes helping me with a walk here and there depending on how many hours I was out the house. My elderly cat wasn't much of a handful compared to my dogs but she would always help me find her when she managed to slip past the open door and go on adventures to the neighbors driveways.
Anika for as long as I have known her has always cared and loved her cat. She spoils her rotten but as most cat parents realize, a cardboard box is the best toy you can give. We met at work and bonded over pictures of our cats and we both offerd to help each other out if we went on any holidays. I have had Anika help look after our two cats on occasion when we are away visiting family of going for a weekend getaway she was always happy to do us a favour and stop in a few times a day to feed them and play to keep the boredom away and save our furniture from any massacre. I am sad that she has moved away from where we are but you got to go where life takes you. You can trust Anika to show up and care for your pets.
