“As soon as Annie met Jean, she immediately loved her and I knew she was in good hands. Jean is very empathetic and understanding of the challenge in leaving your baby with someone else, but I knew everything was good with her. Jean was a great communicator, and I loved getting the updates. This is the most relaxed I think I have ever been leaving her so truly so grateful 💜💜”

“Christina took great care of our 3 fur babies and sent us updates and photos to make sure we were comfortable that they were being taken care of - that is above and beyond. We highly recommend her for anyone living in the west valley!”

“We had a great experience with our dog/house sitter Chuck. He spent a lot of time interacting with the dogs and sent us daily updates and photos to help give us peace of mind while we were away. Our dogs were happy and appeared well cared for when we got home. The house was also clean and well taken care of. We would definitely use Chuck again and recommend him to others!”

“She is fantastic! Trustworthy in my home and with our animals. She went above and beyond with the pictures and videos. We were truly able to enjoy ourselves while on vacation knowing our animals were well taken care of. Highly recommend! We will book with her again!”

“Monica was GREAT! She showed up a few minutes early which I appreciated since it was our first meeting. She was organized and listened (without judgment) about my quirky Tibetan Terrier who has separation anxiety. She sent photos during the short visit, which wasn’t really necessary but showed her diligence and caring. Will definitely ask her back!”

“Thanks so much Laura for taking good care of Phoebe while I was away. I really appreciate your coordinating with Issy with walk times and pop-in’s. It’s a great feeling to be able to take vacation knowing that Phoebe’s in good hands. We will see you next time🤗”

“Kailyn communicated well and arrived and departed as agreed to. She left the house in the same condition it was when we left and washed her bedding and cleaned the dog bowls. Our dogs were content upon our return. We appreciated her professionalism!”

“Dina did an awesome job caring for my corgi's. One gave her a little trouble but she worked thru it very professionally and all ended well. I would highly recommend her if you want someone who will really give your pups great care. I hope to use Dina again in the future.”

“Charisse far surpassed our expectation taking care of Izzi and caring for our home while we were gone. This is the first time we’ve used her and we can hardly wait to have her come stay with Izzi again. She is a great communicator and very detail oriented in her care. I would highly recommend her to anyone.”

“Adrian was great with my 12 year old girl. Many pics and good amount of communication. He left the house in perfect condition, I could barely tell he was even there. Will use his services when needed again.”

“This was our first time leaving our dogs with a sitter. Kalin put us at ease right away with excellent communication, pictures and videos of our dogs throughout our trip. Our dogs were calm upon our return. Our house and yard were in order. I would highly recommend Kalin to care for your pets.”

“Tonya T was amazing! It was her first time sitting with our 1 year old Jingles and she was very engaged in keeping Jingles busy and happy. He loved her. She texted us about what they were doing and sent pictures and videos. We will definitely rebook her!”

About: I have taken care of dogs in my home and professionally at a daycare/boarding facility. I am an RN and comfortable with meds and first aid. I will treat your dog like my family! I am currently working on starting my own business taking dogs on excursions to keep cool while playing with other dogs. I love dogs and find great satisfaction taking care of them in the home or outdoors. I will strive to maintain the regular routine for your dog. I help them feel comfortable by doing the same things you would do for them. Meal time, bedtime, walking, pottying, etc. all tend to have a routine, and I will keep that routine while pouring out affection to your dog as if they were my own.

“Brianna is absolutely amazing! She regularly drops in to care for our two pups, and we completely trust her with them. This week we had a last-minute trip come up and needed her to house sit, and she didn’t hesitate to step in. She did an incredible job—kept us updated with messages and photos, and most importantly, kept our pups happy, comfortable, and well cared for. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. We’re so grateful for her and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring dog sitter!”

About: I have owned and cared for many animals since I was a kid and have professionally cared for animals for 3 years. I currently have 3 feline fur babies aged 12, 10, and 3 years old. One is special needs. I have experience caring for dogs, cats, rodents, reptiles, and birds. This includes baby, special needs, and elderly animals of all sorts. Whatever needs your pets have, I can handle! I do have a semi-part time job as a server at a restaurant. I work 5-8 hour shifts about 25-35 hours a week. I work mornings between the hours of 645am-430pm. I'm willing to work out scheduling with you and figure out how to best meet your pets needs! I cannot care for animals in my home due to owning 3 fur babies of my own and wouldn't want to stress them or your animals out. However I am able to come to your home or take them out to a park any time you need including overnights!
“We think she is amazing!!! Huge thank you to Sue for taking such wonderful care of our two fur babies, all the sweet updates and massive smiles in each picture! She wore them out every day with play time, spoiled them and left our house spotless! Followed our established routines seamlessly, and we returned to two very happy, content and relaxed pups! We will definitely be booking her again for our next pup staycation while we are out of town!”

About: I’ve always loved being around animals and have experience caring for both dogs and cats of different ages, sizes, and personalities. I’m dependable, patient, and make sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for while their owners are away. I can help with feeding, walks, playtime, basic grooming, cleaning up after pets, giving medications if needed, and keeping pets on their normal routine. I’m also comfortable with energetic puppies, shy cats, and senior pets that need extra attention and patience. I treat every pet like they’re my own and always focus on making them happy and stress-free. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and staying active. I’m organized with my schedule and make sure pets get the attention, walks, feeding, playtime, and care they need throughout the day. Whether it’s early morning walks, check-ins during the day, or evening care, I’m reliable and consistent with routines. I also enjoy being outdoors and active, so taking dogs on walks or spending time playing with pets is something I look forward to every week. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on keeping their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. I make sure pets are fed on schedule, have fresh water, get plenty of attention, exercise, and playtime, and feel comfortable while their owners are away. I also keep the home clean and respectful by cleaning up after pets, maintaining litter boxes if needed, and following any specific instructions the owner provides. I understand every pet has a different personality and routine, so I always try to give them patient, reliable, and personalized care in the environment they’re most comfortable in.

Addison was such a great help watching rexin this week! She was attentive, professional, and communicated well. She had an issue with her vehicle and still was able to make the booking work and show up to complete the requested time to watch rexin which I really really appreciate especially when someone has their own things going on and still can pull through. I’d recommend her to anyone!

Annabella did an awesome job housesitting while I was away. She kept Phoebe engaged, sent pictures daily and even printed copies of photos for me. Upon my arrival home, Phoebe was happy and well taken care of. Thanks so much Annabella, definitely appreciate your help.

Laura did a most excellent job and my pets loved her. They were treated wonderfully and so was my house, left very clean and bedding & towels washed & replaced. My cat and two dogs were so content even before I arrived home from my trip. Laura also took lots of great photos. Thank you Laura!

Emily was absolutely amazing with our dogs! From the start, she made us feel so comfortable leaving them in her care. She was attentive, loving, and treated them like her own. We came home to two very happy and well-cared-for pups, which says everything. It gave us such peace of mind knowing they were in great hands. We will definitely be booking Emily again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter!

Wow, just WOW! Kristin is a dream doggie sitter. She sent pics of our sweet elderly pup. She answered my texts right away. She has great communication skills. When we came back home, we were greeted by a very healthy and happy doggie. 🐾 The house was in perfect shape. Almost like she was never here. We give her a 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We’ve already chatted about having her services again. 😊🐶🤩🐾

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Bumstead on Rover is $32.19 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 3,821 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Bumstead. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Bumstead walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Bumstead maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Bumstead choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
