About: I have been a lifelong dog owner. I can care for a variety of pups from young and energetic to senior pups. I love to take my own dogs on my adventures throughout the Santa Cruz mountains from casual walks to long adventure runs and so I can accommodate whatever your dog needs. I also like to spend time training and practicing commands because dogs also like to be engaged mentally along with the physical. Of course love and affection through cuddles is always guaranteed and unlimited. I have lots of experienced with many different dog personalities and can accommodate them accordingly to make sure they are well cared for. I have a very flexible schedule that is mostly already based around my own pups so I am very much able to accommodate yours as well! I have availability to provide attentive, reliable care for your pets throughout the day and evening. I already incorporate activities like dog walking and trail running into my daily routine which means I can offer active dogs a great adventure while also being available for quiet cuddle and consistent care for all pets. In my home, I treat every guest like family. My home is a safe, dog-friendly environment with a fenced yard where they can play safely. We'll follow their regular feeding schedule and I'll make sure they get plenty of exercise with daily walks, running for high-energy dogs, and lots of mental stimulation. In the evenings, it's all about cuddles and relaxation on the couch, ensuring they feel comfortable and loved. When caring for pets in a client's home, my top priority is to maintain their familiar routine. I'll adhere strictly to their feeding schedule, walking routine, and any specific commands they know. I knew that Daisy had a great day because she fell fast asleep on the way home, and while she was happy to see me at pick-up, I could also tell she really liked her hosts. She went back and forth greeting me and going back to Shannon or her husband to get her head scratched; there was big tail wagging going on there! Shannon is certainly knowledgeable and experienced in caring for dogs, responsible, kept my pup safe, and supported Daisy's quirks and needs. She and her family followed my requests and instructions perfectly. Shannon sent pictures, which my husband and I so appreciated, and was responsive and clear in all her communications. She was flexible when I requested a time change for drop off and was fine when I wanted to come a bit earlier than scheduled for pick up. In 2009 I discovered my passion for working with dogs and started actively training my dog(s). I fostered dogs for 4 years for a small Pit Bull Rescue. All of my foster dogs received crate training, basic obedience training, and socialization while living with me. I am a Certified Search and Rescue K9 handler with a SAR K9 in training, Zephyr (I am training him) and have certified 1 dog previously (RIP Popeye 2024). I have been involved with K9 SAR Since 2012. I am an active person. I love hiking and walking with dogs! I am a firm believer in incorporating our animals into our everyday lives. I also believe that dogs are at their best when they are given structure (defined play time, exercise/work time, and rest time). Thus, this is what I practice with my dogs and my clients' dogs. I work from home and create my own schedule. I leave home briefly between 7:30am and 8:30 am to take the kids to school/daycare and pick-up between 4:00pm and 5:30pm. I have 1 friendly energetic labrador that is happy to play if your dog wants a playmate. I do not force dogs to interact. If you choose to have your dog mingle with my dog, introductions will be done slowly and interaction will NOT be forced. All dog play/mingle time is supervised by me. Dogs are never left loose together unattended. If dog personalities do not mesh well, I crate and rotate. ~Dogs must be crate trained: I crate dogs at night and when I have to leave home for short periods of time. ~If your dog is well adjusted to car rides (temperatures & activity permitting) I will take your dog with me when I leave the house. ~I feed dogs separately typically in the crate regardless of temperament. ~I closely monitor both of my children (3yrs & 1yr) when around the dogs and teach them appropriate behavior around dogs (ignore until given permission to interact). ~Dog must be child friendly. The dog must be able to coexist, he/she does not have to interact with my children.

About: I’ve been taking care of dogs and cats since I was a little girl. Not only family animals but I’ve don’t a lot of care for friends dogs as well. I work part time so I have extra time to give your fur baby some love and exercise as needed. I love to be outside and go on hike or to the beach. I don’t have a fenced yard but your pet will never be alone outside off their leash. I have a big property where they can sniff and run around.
