“Sandy really loved her time with Denise and Quarky. She tried to run back into Denise's house as we were putting her in the car, so we'll definitely have to book again, the next time we're in Santa Cruz. Denise was easy to communicate with and drop-off/pick-up was a breeze.”

“Yajaira took great care of my dog Robin when I was visiting Santa Cruz for a show. Even though we contacted her the day of she was very prompt and accommodating. We got frequent updates and photos about how he’s doing and he was happy and calm and even became friends with other doggies. I would definitely book again with Yajaira when I am in the area!”

About: I raised my own working breed dog from when he was a puppy and have continuously worked on training and developing a relationship with him based on positive reinforcement, trust, and lots of love. I believe in caring for our fur babies like the intelligent, sweet, and sensitive gifts that they are to us, and tuning it each pet’s individual needs and personalities. I love to exercise and be outdoors and you can find me and my dog out hiking, trail running, playing fetch, and enjoying what nature has to offer. And after some exercise and fun outside, there’s nothing better than to come home and rest for snuggles and naps. As someone who has used pet sitting services for my own dog many times, I know how important and appreciated it is to receive clear communication and photos from the sitter, so I make sure to send updates so that you have peace of mind that all is taken care of. I have years of experience with pet and house sitting and am a responsible, communicative, tidy, and caring individual. I work part-time and mostly remote so I am usually at home or out with my dog at the park, the beach, or on the trails. I take my own dog out for exercise and time outside so it will be an easy addition to take your dog(s) out too! I’m happy to tailor the activities to your pet’s needs, and also provide lots of attention and cuddles.
“Nancy was a dream come true. Our puppy wasn’t feeling well when we dropped her off and Nancy welcomed her with open arms and kept us updated throughout the day. I felt like our dog was in the best hands possible to take care of her when we couldn’t.”

“Gene did a great job in watching my dog Sam. He sent me photos and updates of Sam enjoying his walk and stay. Gene is kind and made me feel comfortable that Sam is safe and well cared for. I will definitely book his services again.”
“We are so thankful to have found Marina to take both of our doggies for the day on our recent trip to Santa Cruz. She was responsive and communicative before and during their stay. Our dogs got a lot of activity, love, and attention. We got pictures and updates that made us feel comfortable about their care. Thank you so much Marina!”

About: I adopted my dog at 6 weeks old and he has not gotten out of the puppy phase until he was 4 years old. Throughout those years I've learned to redirect his attention onto something else using treats and words that he can understand. I handle more active/ hyper dogs well during walks and occasionally like to run with them too to burn some energy. Im currently a full- time student with the afternoons free everyday. I have no class on Tuesday and Thursday so I can my spend time with dogs full-time those days! As well as weekends. I like to prioritize enrichment/play and food when I care for a pet because feeding time varies based on each animal. Play time is also important because it's their enrichment time and it is what will tire the pet the best way possible at the end of the day. Play time also allows me to bond with the pet and enjoy my time doing so. I find it be the most rewarding part of taking care of pets.
“So glad we found Shannon and Chris!! They are clearly dog people and made our pup feel right at home. He can have his quirks so we’re grateful that they were so understanding and easygoing. We’ll definitely book with them again!”

“Karen was a tremendous help with my need for a day sitter. She is a compassionate human and my Callie warmed right up to her. She let me know her day with a couple updates and activity log which I appreciate. Will contact her again for more day sits! Thanks Karen!”

“Wayne was great at taking care of our dog and was very responsive and communicative, from reservation all the way to picking up. He sent pictures and kept us informed about what they were doing throughout the day. They have a sizable yard, which is nicely landscaped and well maintained. Our dog just loved running in it. We couldn't be more happy with the daycare that Wayne provided. Thanks!”

Mount Hermon dog parents share their Rover experiences
Shannon and her husband and kids took such amazing care of my (very large, somewhat rowdy) dog. I was in town on a business trip and needed a place for him to stay each day while I was at the office. Shannon opened her home, yard, and couch to my pup, and he came home each evening so happy! We will definitely ask Shannon to care for him again the next time we are in town.
