About: I have years of experience caring for both dogs and cats, including feeding, walking, playtime, basic cleaning, and making sure pets feel safe and comfortable. I have grown up around animals and understand how important it is to be patient, gentle, and reliable. I enjoy getting to know each pet’s personality and following the owner’s instructions closely so their routine stays consistent. Pet care fits well into my weekly routine, and I’m looking to help with walks, drop-ins, and pet care when I’m available. I’m dependable, communicate clearly, and will always do my best to keep pet parents updated. My availability may vary by day, but I will only accept bookings that I know I can fully commit to. I always put safety first by following the pet parent’s instructions, keeping dogs secure on walks, watching doors and gates carefully, and paying attention to each pet’s behavior. I will make sure pets have fresh water, food if needed, and a clean, comfortable space. I understand that every pet is different, so I will be patient and respectful of their routine, comfort level, and needs.

“Susan did an amazing job with our animals!!! She provided us with lots of pics and kept us informed of all the fun they were having while we were gone. We loved that they were able to stay in their own environment and had someone to cuddle with at night. 😊”

“I could not be happier with the job Samantha did of watching our 4 dogs and 2 cats. She had great communication prior to our vacation as well as while we were on vacation. When the dogs got into something they should not have, Samantha contacted me so we could discuss how to handle the situation. All animals and our home was well taken care of during her week-long drop in visits. I will most definitely use again when the need arises and highly recommend to anyone needing their animals watched in their home while away!”

About: Hi, I’m Shanna! I provide care at your home so your pets can stay comfortable in their normal routine while you’re away. As a remote worker, I’m able to stay at your home during work hours - great for pets who are used to company throughout the day! My goal is to make your time away as stress-free as possible. I am happy to follow detailed instructions, and I provide regular updates and photos so you always know how things are going. Specialties: I have a soft spot for shy or nervous pets, and I take extra care to follow their lead and let them warm up at their own pace. My experience caring for my own anxious and reactive dog has given me extra understanding for pets who need a predictable environment and time to build trust. I am also experienced with puppies and young dogs, and I understand the importance of consistency, routine reinforcement, and providing outlets for their energy while they’re still learning. Meet & Greet: I always like to schedule a meet-and-greet with new clients to make sure everyone feels comfortable and that we are a good match. For safety, my husband Nathan may join me for this first visit, but all pet care and in-home services are always provided by me. I work primarily from home and have a flexible schedule. This allows me to plan my day around your pet's needs, whether that means drop-in visits, walks, or spending extra time keeping them company. I truly enjoy making them feel comfortable and cared for while you’re away. I treat every pet and home with the care and respect I’d want for my own. I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet (and your space) in someone else’s hands, and I don’t take that lightly. For pets, I stick as closely as possible to their normal routine. I pay attention to their behavior and needs, and their safety and well-being is always my top priority. In your home I am very mindful that I am a guest. I keep things clean, make sure everything stays secure, and treat your space with respect. I aim to leave everything just as you left it. I am happy to keep you updated with messages and photos, so you can relax knowing your pet is well cared for.
“We found out at the last minute that our spring break accommodation did not allow cats, and Susan saved the day! We always prefer someone who has experience with cats, and Susan’s experience and love for all animals shone through from even the first meeting. When we had questions after coming home, Susan was responsive and helpful.”

“Ashlyn was amazing! She sent pictures to me for each visit, let me know when she arrived and left each time, and what Maui did while she was here. When we got home, we also had a cute snapshot of Maui laying on the counter. Ashlyn went above and beyond, and I highly recommend her!”

“I couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. Her attentiveness and communication were exceptional from start to finish . Every update was detailed, thoughtful, and genuinely reassuring. She truly cared about my cats’ wellbeing. When an ice storm was incoming there was a real possibility of the power going out, she didn’t just check in she went above and beyond to make sure my cat would be safe and comfortable no matter what happened. If you’re looking for someone who treats your pets like their own and keeps you fully in the loop while on vacation, this is the sitter you want. I’ll absolutely be booking again. Thank you Alex!”

“HUGE thanks to Michele for being able to come over on such short notice to let my pup out during the day!! I have used Michele a handful of times, and I can't say enough wonderful things about her and her family. Thanks again, Michele! :)”

About: We are an active family with two youth athletes that love to keep dogs active or snuggle on the couch. We have a large yard with a 5-foot privacy fence as well as plenty of room to spoil your pup indoors. We are experienced with foster and rescue dogs of all shapes and sizes. We rescued our first two fur-babies over 16 years ago. They lived long, healthy lives for 15 and 16 years, respectively. Once they crossed the rainbow bridge, we began fostering dogs in our home. We have fostered 3-week-old bottle-fed puppies, geriatric, medical cases, giant, excited, calm, small and everything in between. We now have two large breed rescues that joined our family in 2021. They are friendly, happy and kennel trained dogs that get along great with other canine friends! I work a hybrid schedule which means I work from home during the day Monday and Friday and we are both home during the weekends. During the summer, our kids (12 and 16yo) are both home (when they aren't at sports practices) and love to help! We kennel the dogs while we are away (usually attending a sport activity) but never longer than 4 hours at a time. We have a large yard that has a 5-foot privacy fence. The dogs have plenty of room to run and play! Our home has plenty of space on the main level as well as a finished basement. We kennel either in our spare bedroom or the garage, wherever the dogs are most comfortable.
“Muskaan was amazing! She took such good care of our elderly dog and our home while we were gone! She went above and beyond what was asked of her. We will definitely have her help us again!”

“Amanda took wonderful care of our fur babies while we were gone! She had great notes and sent awesome pictures that showed how much they enjoyed her visits! We appreciated we found someone that we can count on so we can leave the pets at home! Thank you, Amanda!”

“Rachael is always fabulous! Very communicative and great with my older dogs that have special needs. I greatly appreciate her and would recommend her to anyone looking for pet sitting.”

About: Hello Community, my name is Bridget Barcenas I'm a big time animal lover. I love caring for pets and meeting every type of personality they have to offer. I enjoy walking in the park and taking fur babies on car rides in my convertible. I'm a Kansas State Alum majoring in Animal Science with a Pre-Vet track. I love being able to help my community and caring for your kiddos like my own. Pet care is my current side job on top of my full-time veterinary assistant position. I am saving up for my veterinary school applications and process. I can care for your pets in your home by helping with everyday tasks such as feeding correct portions, walking 15-30 mins, grooming if necessary. Trimming nails or cleaning ears if deemed necessary.
About: Growing up, I was never allowed to have pets, so as soon as I was on my own, I got my first guinea pig! I'm currently taking care of two piggies, and contrary to popular belief, they all require very meticulous care — constant fresh water and unlimited hay, daily vitamin C tablets, fresh veggies, portioned pellets, daily spot cleaning with a full cage cleaning every two weeks, and the occasional eye ointment when a piggy gets a case of hay poke. I also have experience administering oral medication to guinea pigs. I got my first dog in October of 2023 — a Border Collie puppy! She gets weekly teeth brushing, coat brushing, nail trims, and paw pad shaving when appropriate. I take real pride in keeping up with her hygiene, with baths about every three months (unless she gets filthy beforehand) and frequent paw washings when it's muddy out. I also maintain a training regimen — I'm not by any means a professional or certified trainer, but I'm both consistent and persistent about getting my pup to a level that Victoria Stilwell would be proud of. I watched A LOT of It's Me or the Dog growing up! I also have experience caring for dogs in heat. My experience with cats isn't as in-depth as my guinea pig and dog experience, but rest assured, I have plenty of love and care to offer them too! I've house sat cats in the past for weeks at a time — feeding, watering, playing, and cleaning litter boxes regularly. My cat care doesn't go much past those basics, but I take direction well and am always willing to take on kitties with more specialized needs. I hope this gives you confidence in my ability to properly care for your pet! I'm always happy to answer any questions or concerns, and I will NEVER take a risk that could negatively affect you or your beloved pet. Tuesdays, Thursdays, and weekends are wide open for me, unless my calendar says otherwise. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays I work a 9-5, so pet sitting visits on those days are scheduled around my work hours, but I'm still available for walks, drop-ins, and check-ins. No matter the day, your pet gets my full attention and the quality care they deserve, every single time. Depending on the boundaries and rules you set, I'm always happy to take your pet(s) out for exercise at a dog park or just a walk around the block. I love giving animals human interaction and have no issue spending time playing, whether that's tug of war, fetch, or puzzle games for pets that need some mental stimulation! If you're interested, I can send check-in pictures so you can see how your pet(s) are doing while you're away, along with any other updates you'd like. Safety is incredibly important to me, which is why your pet(s) will be carefully monitored the entire time they're in my care. I personally keep security cameras in my own home to monitor my dog while I'm away - I even have one dedicated specifically to keeping an eye on my guinea pigs! You can never be too safe, and you can never take too many precautions.

“Amanda was very communicative and willing to work with us and our dog. She went above and beyond trying to make sure our dog was able to go to the bathroom, which even cost her an extra trip. I would definitely recommend her!”

Emilie is the absolute best!!! She took such wonderful care of our sweet elderly kitty and loved on her like she was her own. I felt so at ease knowing Emilie was there with her. I would recommend her a hundred times over and we will DEFINITELY use her again!!

Thanks so much to Amanda for taking such good care of my two little ones while I was away at MD Anderson this week. It meant a great deal to me to know they were in such caring and capable hands during a stressful time. I could tell they were happy, comfortable, and well-loved when I got home. My family and I truly appreciate her kindness, reliability, and the care she gave our sweeties.

Michaela was amazing! She took this booking very last minute when we were in need and she was nothing short of perfect! She had open communication, sent photos, and provided updates on our two fur babies. When traveling, it can be stressful to leave your pets but she took all of that away by providing great care.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
