“Our Charlie was well taken care of while we were out of town. Karin kept us updated on Charlie via text messages. We are very pleased with the care Charlie received from Karin. Thank you so much!”

“Shannon was fantastic with our pug Steve! Her communication was excellent and incredibly quick, she kept us updated with photos and messages throughout the stay. She gave us peace of mind that Steve was in caring hands. Would recommend Shannon to any other dog parents.”

“Daisy had a great time staying at Maddy's! Maddy sent me lots of photos of Daisy on walks, playing with her ball or just chillin' on the couch. I will definitely be using Maddy's services another time we might be out-of-town. Thanks Maddy!”

“Kristina went above and beyond to care for my Pom, Roxy, when our flight home was canceled. She gave me so much peace of mind knowing that Roxy was happy and getting lots of TLC. Kristina was so responsive and understanding, and I honestly don’t have the words to recommend her highly enough. She’s a true gem!”

“I am so thrilled to have found Michelle. Emmett just spent his second week-long visit with her and there will be more. I am convinced from the wonderful pictures and videos I get, as well as how calm and relaxed he has been when I pick him up, and especially when I dropped him off the second time, that he is at least just as well cared for and loved as he is at home. Maybe even more because Michelle devotes her whole day to the dogs she cares for. I am very grateful to Michelle for the peace of mind I have about leaving Emmett with her and the freedom that affords me.”

About: I'm a softy for animals in general, especially dogs! I have a 9 yr old boxer that loves to play and gets along with any dog. I have dogsat my buddies 2 boxers multiple times, up to 6 weeks at a time. 3 boxers is a handful. Apollo is my 3rd dog and I have watched other friends dogs many times also. I have also looked after cats and birds on occasion. I'm not a trainer but I've trained my own dogs. I currently have some free time, so I'm available most times pretty quickly. I do some work online, but take my dog for a walk twice a day. Depending on the type and size of dog I would consider watching them at my house. My boxer is getting older and losing his eyesight so I have to be cautious of his health at times. I can be available between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. 7 days a week I have a fenced yard. There's a doggy door from the house to the fenced backyard that they can come and go to potty or just play. My boxer loves doggy friends and sharing his treats. I'm an animal lover and I give them plenty of attention because it also brings me joy. I enjoy dogs and will walk them or play with them as desired. I'm also available to just stop by and let them out to use the bathroom. I know these are our pet's homes and I love and care for them because I would want someone to give my dog that loving and respect!
“Dusty seemed super happy and comfortable during his stay with Aimee and Derek! They were super friendly, accommodating, and kind. I’m so glad I found them because I hope to have Dusty stay with them again and again in the future if they’ll have him. Don’t hesitate to book with them-your pup will be in great hands!”

“Our pups loved their time staying with Reese. She is kind, quick to respond to messages, and so easy to work with to coordinate pickup and drop off times. Thank you Reese for taking such great care of our dogs!”

“My Golden Retriever Murphy had a great vacation staying with Alisa and her family. Alisa is very easy to work with, communicates well, and she leaves daily updates. I felt that Murphy was in good hands while I was gone for a week. Thank you, Alisa.”

“Debbie and Ryan took excellent care of my dog and treated him like a family member of their own. I felt completely at ease leaving my boy with them. Absolutely recommend!”

“Meghan is fantastic! Took great care of my boxer Charlie over the holidays. Sent picture updates and even dropped her off at my house, so she would be there when I got home. I highly recommend Meghan for your fur babies!”
“Chloe was great at accommodating our dog Stella with some limitations after a recent surgery. Stella always looks forward to seeing Chloe as well which is great to see!”

“Selah had a great time meeting Chester. Looking forward to leaving Selah with Eva in the future. Eva was great adapting to changes in the schedule. Definitely a 5 star sitter.”

About: I’m reliable, communicative, and great with dogs of all temperaments. I’ll learn their quirks, respect their routine, and yes, probably talk to them like they’re tiny, furry humans. I will make sure every dog feels safe, happy, and entertained—expect plenty of playtime, patience, and the occasional “who’s a good dog?” conversation. I’m a stay-at-home Dad with a friendly standard poodle who loves meeting new friends, and we stay active with three walks a day plus plenty of playtime and attention. I focus on safety, consistency, and trust by maintaining a clean, pet-friendly space and closely monitoring all interactions. I follow feeding schedules, exercise routines, and any specific care instructions you provide. In my home, dogs enjoy regular walks, playtime, and a secure environment alongside my well-socialized poodle. I aim to keep your pet’s routine as normal, fun and stress-free as possible.
“Sean is so calm and caring with Luna. We feel comfortable leaving her in his care knowing she will be comfortable and treated with love. She had 3 days of medication this stay and he made sure she had it each night.”

“Carrie was absolutely amazing and Opie had the best time! He enjoyed playing with her dog and running around the big yard and getting his snuggles at night. Would recommend over and over again”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Boise
Kelly has great communication and did an amazing job at making sure that Ellie felt super comfortable and “one of the pack!” I appreciated all of the pictures and updates Kelly sent while I was away from my pup. Both Ellie and I are excited to have Kelly watch over her again sometime soon!

Wow! Moya and family were a fantastic fit as sitters in their home for our elderly lab, Odie. They sent lots of photos and in every one Odi looked like he was in Heaven! Communication was fantastic, Moya was really easy to work with, and Odie had other canine companions there too. Moya’s hoke was very dog-friendly and well-maintained. I highly recommend Moya and will be sure to use her again as Odie’s sitter. Awesome experience!

This was our second time using Elizabeth and her family. They are hands down the best dog sitters we’ve found. Having kids, our dog is used to being around a lot of daily activity. They give Dixie a lot of attention, hikes, snuggles and outside time. We will be using them again and again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in ID ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
